1. Introduction
Congratulations on purchasing the Tantalus TSC Security System
– This system is so simple you shouldn’t need a user manual.
2. Using the Keypad
The keys on the user keypad have functionality as described below.
0 - 9 Used to enter access codes and change Date and Time
Panic Sounds an Alert and registers a Panic condition to the
Monitoring Station
Fire Sounds an Alert and registers a Fire condition to the
Monitoring Station
Home/Away Selects home or away mode for system srming
Arm Quick arm the system . Exit through entrance/exit door
when system already armed.
Meter Selects meter and displays consumption
Yes/No Yes, No selection (sub-keys on 7and 0keys)
Test Displays menu items on keypad display.
3. Arming The System
The system can be armed as described below.
Zone(s) Open Green light is OFF.
Zone name Check that all the doors and windows are closed and
that motion has stopped in areas covered by motion
detectors.
System Ready Green light is ON .
Enter Code To Arm Enter your access code. As each digit of the code is
entered, an “X” will appear on the Keypad screen.
System Armed The Red light will flash.
Exit Delay On The keypad beeper sound for the duration of the exit
period. You may leave through the exit door and all
sensors will be armed or stay and the system will sound
an alarm if a protected door or window is opened. At the
end of the exit delay the Red light stays on.
4. Disarming The System
The system can be disarmed as described below.
When entering through a Entry door, the keypad will beep and the entry delay
will begin, reminding you to disarm the system. The keypad will display the
following message…
System Armed Enter your access code.
Enter Code The Red light will go OFF and the keypad will beep. If
an error is made entering the code, re-enter your code
correctly.
System Disarmed Green light is On if the system is ready.
No Alarm Memory
System Disarmed If an alarm occurred while the system was armed, this
Alarm in Memory message will appear and the Red light will flash. After 5
seconds the Keypad will display…
“Zone name” The zones that caused the alarm are displayed.
View next? Press Yes to view additional zones
Clear Alarm Press Yes to clear
Memory?
5. Menu/Test Key
Press the Menu/Test key for the following:
•Zone Bypassing
•Setting Time and Date
•Door Chime
•Changing Access Codes
•Replacing System Components
•Installation Walk test
Zone Bypass Entrance/exit and fire zones cannot be bypassed.
Display shows….
Zone Open Press Menu/Test
or Enter any access code
System Ready
Enter Code To Arm Open zones are displayed first
Bypass? Press the Yes/No key to bypass the displayed
zone.
“Zone Name” After selection the next zone is displayed.
Bypass? “O” will appear if a zone is open and not
bypassed.
“Zone Name” O
Bypass? “B” will appear on the display to show the zone is
“Zone Name” B bypassed.
After 5 seconds of inactivity display returns to 5A
If system is now ready to arm display shows…
System Ready Bypass active
Bypass On
Press Menu/Test again for additional menu items.
The Master code must have been entered.
MM/DD/YY HH:MM Enter Date and Time or press Menu for next menu item.
Door Chime OFF Yes turns door chime on, No leaves it off
Turn ON?
Press Menu/Test again
Edit Access Codes Select number of access code to edit, “M” represents the
master code.

Access Code 2 Enter new code or press Menu to return to ” Edit
Access Codes”

Code is XXXX Press Yes to confirm
Confirm?
Replacing System Components
Replace System Press the Yes key to replace system components.
Sensors? Contact installer to replace Keypad and
Controller.
“Zone Name” The Keypad will display the first component that
may be replaced
Replace? Press the No key to select the next component or
press the Yes key to replace this component .
Remove Component The keypad will wait two minutes for you to

Enter New Comp Enter the new component’s Serial Number . If an
error is made press No

Start Walk Test? Press Yes to start walk test.
Walk Test Active The keypad will display this message during the

6. System Messages
Another Keypad Only one keypad may be used at a time.
In Use
Communication The Controller was unable to communicate with the
monitoring station.
Failure Contact your installer for service and press Bypass to
clear message.
Low Battery Change the battery on the named device or bypass the
“Zone/Device name” zone. Contact installer if device is the controller.
Sensor Fault Contact your installer for service. Press Bypass to
bypass the sensor “Zone/Device name” or clear the
message.
Loss of Clock Press Menu to adjust time or Bypass to clear message.
“Device Name” AC Make sure the device is plugged in or contact installer.
