Introduction
Thank you for your purchase of the Targus 200W AC Automotive Power Inverter With
Usb Fast Charging Port. Please read this document carefully before you attempt to use
the product.

Instructions
Caution:
• Avoid overloading current. Make sure the electronic device voltage is within the product
specification.
• A 20A fuse is provided to protect the automotive cigar lighter. The maximum safe load
should not exceed 180 watt.
• A chronic current overload may burn out the automotive fuse. It is suggested not to
overload the product. In case of emergency, do not use the power inverter for more
than one hour.
Usage:
1. Make sure the power inverter is switched to OFF.
2. Make sure the electronic device is power-off.
3. Plug the lighter into a 12 V DC socket.
4. Connect the electronic device with the power inverter.
Ensure that the device is power-off.
(Warning: This power inverter is vulnerable to damage if connected to power-on
devices.)
5. Switch on the power inverter, then switch on the electronic device when the green
indicator is lighted. Now you can enjoy the convenience provided by this unique power
inverter.
A “beep” sound means the voltage of the battery is lower than 10.5 V. You need to switch
off the power inverter and start the automotive engine for charging. If the red indicator of
the power inverter is lighted and stop immediately means there is an overloadand short
circuit protection, the self-protection function will be automatically enabled.
Immediately disconnect the appliance and switch off the power supply. Do not use the
power inverter before it cooled down.

Warnings
• Avoid overloading the current. Generally, the output voltage of a vehicle’s cigar lighter
ranges from 11 V to 15 V. If the voltage is over 16 V, the power inverter may burn out.
• Do not use the power inverter for a sustained period of time.
• Keep the power inverter and electronic devices away from moisture.
• Do not start the automotive engine when the power inverter is connected to the power
supply and is switched on.
• Do not connect the cigar lighter to a heating device, such as a hair dryer, a bread
maker, or a coffee maker.
• Most heating devices consume high amounts of power that may exceed the maximum
power limitation.
• Keep the power inverter away from high temperature surfaces or heating devices to
avoid circuit damage.

If the external 󰘱exible cord of this inverter is damaged, it shall be replaced by the manufacturer
or its service agent or a similar quali󰘰ed person in order to avoid a hazard.

is not recommended for use with inductive loads, such as 󰘱uorescent lamps or pumps and
most heat generation equipment such as hair dryers, co󰘯ee makers, irons, heaters and
toasters. Permanent damage to the unit and excessive overheating may result.

Trouble Shooting
Problem: No Power Output, indicator not ON
Possible causes and suggestions:
• The Car’s battery is low (<10.0Vdc) or defective
Start the engine to recharge or replace the car’s battery if needed. Disconnect the input
cable before starting the car’s engine to minimize power surge. If such a case occurs,
reconnect the cable to resume normal operation.
• Connection cable is not secured
Reconnect the cables and make sure all plugs are secured.
• Equipment being operated draws too much power
Reduce load to continuous 180 watts or below and use equipment with starting surge
power within inverter capability.
• Inverter in thermal shut down condition
Allow the inverter to cool down. Ensure there is ventilation around the unit.
• Inverter Fuse blown
Unplug the power cable and replace the fuse following fuse replacement instruction.
• Automotive Fuse for Cigarette Lighter Blown
Check and replace the fuse for your car’s cigarette lighter following the instructions in
your car’s service manual.

Problem: No Output Voltage
Possible cause and suggestions:
• Inverter is overloaded
Reduce load to continuous 180 watts or below to maintain regulation.
• Input voltage below 10Vdc
Keep input voltage above 11Vdc to maintain regulation.
Replace the car’s battery if needed.
