WIRELESS MONITOR
OPERATOR STATION
INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION OF RADIO BOARD AND
ANTENNA FOR (YE-RF-RAD-##)
NOTICE Electrostatic sensitive devices. To prevent damage, use proper grounding techniques.
Observe precautions for handling Electrostatic
Sensitive Devices. Be sure to touch unpainted,
exposed metal on monitor or fire truck before
removing and handling circuit boards. ATTENTION

STEP 1:
Turn off power and remove lid from
monitor control box.
Unscrew the lid screws using 3mm
allen head wrench, but do not
removed the screws from the lid.
Be careful to open the lid slowly as
it is connected to the communication
board by a flat cable.
Securely support the lid during the
installation process.
STEP 2:
Locate the connector with blue &
white wires on the communication
board (far left).
STEP 3:
Unplug the connector with blue &
white wires from the communication
board.
STEP 4:
Remove the communication board by
pulling it straight out.
STEP 5:
Remove the nut and hex plug from
the side of the monitor control box.
STEP 6:
Check to be sure the O-ring is in the
groove on the antenna base.
Apply red Loctite to the threads on
the antenna base.
Feed the antenna connector through
the hole and tighten the antenna base
and nut to the monitor control box.

STEP 7:
Plug the radio board to the
communication board by aligning pin
holes and pushing firmly.
STEP 8:
Attach the antenna connector to the
radio board in the orientation shown.
NOTE: In some cases, a cable tie
may need to be cut to attach the
antenna.
STEP 9:
Reinstall the communication/radio
board into the monitor control box.
Press straight in to seat firmly.
STEP 10:
Plug the connector with the blue &
white wires into the communication/
radio board.
Route antenna wire alongside the
board.
STEP 11:
Replace the lid. Be sure to guide the
flat cable across the motor boards.
NOTE: Do not pinch any wires
between the lid and box.
STEP 12:
Tighten screws equally in a criss-
cross pattern.
NOTICE
Ensure rubber O-ring seal for lid
is clean, undamaged, and properly
placed in the groove prior to
securing the lid.

TEACHING ID CODE:
NOTE: When the operator station is purchased at the same time as RC monitor, handheld unit will be pre-taught at factory.
NOTE: If the monitor is mounted to an RC Extend-A-Gun, make sure the Extend-A-Gun is in the raised position.
NOTE: Before teaching, monitor should be powered down.
NOTE: If multiple monitors are present, apply power only to the monitor being taught, otherwise possible conflicts may occur.
Every monitor has a unique ID code that must be “taught or transferred” to the wireless handheld unit. This unique ID code allows
multiple monitors to be used in one location without interference. Perform the following procedure to teach the handheld unit.
On Wireless Handheld Unit Without Display:
-Press POWER button to turn on electronics.
-Press and hold both LEFT & RIGHT buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds.
-Continue to press the LEFT & RIGHT buttons and then press UP button for 2 seconds.
-Release buttons. After several seconds the OSC & STOW lights will flash rapidly to indicate that the unit is in teach mode.
On Wireless Handheld Unit (with Display):
- Enter configuration mode by pressing center MENU button for 5 seconds
- Press & release MENU button until RFID LEARN is displayed above left button
- Press & release RFID LEARN button, Radio will configure and wait for ID code
On Monitor Control Box:
-Apply power to monitor.
-Press and hold both LEFT & RIGHT buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds.
-Continue to press the LEFT & RIGHT buttons and then press UP button for 2 seconds.
-Release buttons.After several seconds the OSC & STOW lights will flash rapidly to indicate that the unit is in teach mode.
ID code is automatically transferred to the wireless handheld unit.
-OSC & STOW lights on handheld unit will stop flashing after ID code is transferred.
-Press DOWN button on monitor control box to exit teach mode.
-Cycle power off and back on to monitor.
In the event the handheld unit does not link up with the monitor, perform the following at the monitor operator station and the
handheld unit.
- Turn off power.
- Press and hold DOWN button.
- Apply power to the monitor, continue to hold DOWN button for 3 seconds.
- Release DOWN button.
- After green POWER light stops blinking, test wireless handheld unit.
- Repeat above procedure for “Teaching ID Code”
CHANGING BATTERIES IN WIRELESS HANDHELD UNIT:
Four (AA) Batteries, Lithium Recommended
-Remove two (2) screws on backside of handheld unit and slide bottom half of rubber bumper off enclosure.
-Replace batteries verifying that polarity is correct.
-Replace rubber bumper and retaining screws.
NOTICE Properly dispose of old batteries. Do not puncture, incinerate, or disassemble batteries. Do
not mix battery types.
