The unique
two pressure level system
The Cafissimo PICCO has a unique two pressure
level system, making it perfect for brewing your
favourite type of coffee. Using an individual
brewing pressure allows the respective types
of coffee to unfold their full taste and aroma.
The two coffee selection buttons each repre-
sent a different brewing pressure. The small
cup represents espresso and the larger cup
caffè crema.
So you can easily see which button to press
for which coffee:

Always pour fresh, col rinking water into the water tank•
(tap water may only be use if it is potable). Do not use
carbonate mineral water or any other liqui .
Descale the machine as escribe in this booklet as soon •

First-time use
(initial operation)
1. Setting up the machine
Place the machine on a solid, level
surface that is water- and heat-
resistant.
Check that the drip tray is pushed
in as far as it will go and that the
drip grid is in place.
Push the brew lid back as far as
it will go.
Insert the capsule holder.
Push the brew lid back down.

Fill the water tank with fresh,
cold drinking water up to the
MAX mark:
— Either pour the water into the
water tank through the hinged
opening or
— pull the water tank upwards
to remove it and then fill with
water.
When reinserting the water
tank, press it down slightly to
make sure that it fits flush in
the casing.

4. 커피머신을 전원에 연결시키기 연결 플러그를 가까운 곳의 콘센트
에 연결시킵니다.
5. 커피 버튼을 누르기아랫쪽 커피 버튼을 짧게 누릅니다.

4. Connecting the machine
Plug the mains plug into an easily
accessible wall socket.
5. ressing the coffee selection

Briefly press the lower coffee
selection button.
The button pressed will flash while
the machine heats up the water (max.
~ 30 seconds). The button will then be
constantly lit and the pump will pump
water into the pipes. This process will
stop automatically after 50 seconds.
6. Rinsing the machine
Pour away the water that is in
the cup and rinse the machine as
described in the next section. The
machine is then ready for use.

커피머신린싱하기커피머신을 처음으로 사용할 때, 또는 커피머신을 이틀 이
상 사용하지 않은 경우에는 한컵분량의 물만큼 (캡슐 없
이) 커피머신을 린싱하십시오.
1. 필요한 경우에는 식수로 사용가능한 신선한 찬 물을 물
탱크에 MAX 표시가 되어 있는 높이까지 채우십시오.
2. 빈 커피잔을 드립 트레이위에 올려 놓으십시오.
3. 아랫쪽 커피 버튼을 짧게 누릅니다.
린싱을 위해서 펌프가 배관을 통해서 물을 보내고, 그
물이 올려 놓은 커피잔으로 분출됩니다.
4. 커피잔의 물을 버립니다.
5. 마지막으로 드립 트레이에 모인 물을 버립니다.
Rinsing the machine
After switching the machine on for the first time or if you
have not used the machine for more than two days, rinse
the machine by allowing two cups of water to flow through
(without a capsule).
1. If necessary, fill the water tank with fresh, cold
drinking water up to the MAX mark.
2. Place an empty cup underneath the spout.
3. Press the lower coffee selection button.
The pump will flush water through the pipes
which will then run into the cup underneath.
4. Pour away the water that is in the cup.
5. Finally, empty the drip tray.

Espresso tastes best when served in a preheated cup.
Fill the cup with hot water and pour it away shortly before
using the cup.
Coffee strength
Adjust the strength of the coffee to suit your personal
taste by changing the quantity of water. This is very easy
to do, and is described in the section ”Adjusting the
strength of the coffee”.
