Keep your purchase receipt to enable you to proceed quickly in the event of a Warranty Service.
Warranty Terms & Conditions
1. TEAC warrants to the original retail purchaser only, that this product is free from defects in material and
workmanship under normal domestic use and authorises free service during the warranty period at any TEAC
Authorised Service Centre only. TEAC warranty only applies to products purchased, used and serviced in
Australia.
2. Subject to the terms herein, this warranty effectively covers the equipment as specified in the Warranty Periods
Table below from the date of purchase.

3. In Home Service/Pick up* will only be provided as part of this warranty if all the following conditions are met;
a) The product as indicated in the Warranty Period Table.
b) The product is within the warranty period.
c) The product is located within the normal service area of the local TEAC Authorised Service Centre.
In any other situation or circumstance, where an In Home Service/Pick up* call is made, a service fee will be
charged by the Service Provider including a travel fee if outside normal service area.
If TEAC determines that the product is not repairable on site, TEAC can complete the repair by taking the product
to a TEAC Authorised Service Centre.
Where In-Home service/Pick up* is not available, the purchaser is required to send the product to the nearest TEAC
Authorised Service Centre for repair. In this event, a copy of this warranty card and a copy of your receipt of
purchase must be enclosed to be a valid warranty. Such equipment or part must be sent freight prepaid to your
nearest TEAC Authorised Service Centre. After the repair, the product will be available for collection by or return to
the purchaser at purchaser’s cost. The warranty does not cover freight or insurance. In all cases of transit damage or
lost, a claim must be filed against the carrier by the purchaser, even if shipment is arranged by TEAC. TEAC in-
home service may also be available at a fee upon request.
4. Accessories, Remote, including power adaptors, AV box, TV tuners, etc, are warranted to be defect free for 1 year.
5. Replacement of spare parts under normal usage; except cabinet, front panel, knob, removable accessories, battery,
consumable, AC cord, connecting cord and other accessories, are warranted as specified in Warranty Periods Table,
and will be repaired or replaced at the sole judgement of TEAC.
6. The warranties hereby conferred do not extend to, and exclude, any cost associated with the installation, de-
installation or re-installation of a product (be it in-home or otherwise), including costs related to the mounting,
demounting or remounting of any screen, (and any other ancillary activities), delivery, handling, freighting,
transportation or insurance of the product or any part thereof or replacement of and do not extend to, and exclude,
any damage or loss occurring by reason of, during, associated with, or related to such installation, de-installation,
re-installation or transit.
7. Normal customer maintenance as described in the owner’s manual is not covered by this warranty (such as cleaning
VCR heads etc.)
8. Service will be provided only during normal business hours and under safety conditions and circumstances.

9. This warranty does not apply to equipment showing abuse, damage or that it may have been tampered with, altered
or repaired outside any TEAC Authorised Service Centre. If so, the warranty will be void.
*Your nearest Authorised TEAC Service Centre is listed in your Owner’s Manual, please refer to TEAC
website for up to date list.
10. No one is authorised to assume any liability on behalf of TEAC or impose any obligation on it, in connection with
the sale of any equipment other than as stated in this warranty and outlined above.
11. In no event will TEAC be responsible or liable for indirect or consequential damages from interrupted operations or
other causes.
12. Warranty is not transferable to any subsequent purchaser if the product is sold during the warranty period.

1. Notice

To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove cover (or back). No user
serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel.

1.2 Safety and Warning
This digital terrestrial unit has been manufactured to satisfy international safety standards.
Please read the following safety precautions carefully.
Safety Instructions and Precautions
1. Mains Supply
AC 90~240V 50/60Hz Max 1.0A
Operate your product only from the type of power source indicated on the marking label. If you
are not sure of the type of power supplied to your home, consult local power company.
Disconnect the unit from the mains before you start any maintenance or installation procedure.
2. Overloading
Do not overload a wall outlet, extension cord or adapter as this may result in electric fire or
shock.

3. Liquids
The unit should not be exposed to any liquids such as dripping or splashing. In addition, no
objects filled with liquids, such as vase, shall be placed on the apparatus.
4. Cleaning
Disconnect the unit from the wall outlet before cleaning. Use a light damp cloth (no solvents) to
dust the unit.
5. Ventilation
The slots on the top of the unit must be left uncovered to allow proper airflow to the unit. Do not
place the unit on soft furnishings or carpets. Do not stack electronic equipments on the top of
the unit.
6. Attachments
Do not use any unsupported attachments as those may be hazardous or cause damage to the
unit.
7. Connection to the Aerial
Disconnect the unit from mains before connecting or disconnecting the cable from the aerial.
Failure to do so can damage the aerial.
8. Connection to the TV
Disconnect the unit from the mains before connecting or disconnecting the cable from the aerial.
Failure to do so can damage the TV.
9. Grounding
The aerial cable must be buried in the ground. The buried cable of the system must comply with
SABS 061.
10. Location
Place the unit indoors to avoid exposing it to lightning, rain or sun. Do not place it near a
radiator or heat register.
Make sure it has more than 10cm clearance from any appliances susceptible to electromagnetic
influences, such as TV and VCR.
Do not block these openings with any object, and do not place the product on a bed, sofa, rug,
or other similar surface.
If you place the product on a rack or bookcase, ensure that there is adequate ventilation and
that you have followed the manufacturer’s instructions for mounting.
Do not place the product on an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table where it can fall.
A falling product can cause serious injury to children or adults, and serious damage to the
appliance.
11. Lightning, storm, or not in use
Unplug the product from the wall outlet and disconnect the aerial during a lightning storm or
when left unattended and unused for long periods of time. This will prevent damage to the unit
due to lightning and power line surges.
12. Foreign objects
Do not insert anything through the openings in the unit, where they can touch dangerous
voltage point or damage parts.

13. Replacement of Parts
When the replacement parts are required, be sure the service technician uses replacement
parts specified by the manufacturer or those have the same characteristics as the original part.
Unauthorized substitutions may result in additional damage to the unit.
Warnings
1. Follow these directions in order not to damage the power cord or plug. Do not modify or
process the power cord or plug arbitrarily. Do not bend or twist the power cord too much.
Make sure to disconnect the power cord with the plug held. Keep heating appliances as far
as possible from the power cord in order to prevent the cover vinyl from melting.
2. Follow these directions. Failure to follow one of them may cause electrical shock. Do not
open the main body. Do not insert metals or inflammable objects inside the product. Do not
touch the power plug with wet hand. Disconnect the power cord in case of lightning.
3. Do not use the product when it is out of order. If you continue to use the product when
defective, serious damage can be caused. Make sure to contact your local product
distributor if the product is out of order.

②--- MENU key: Displays the main menu, or return to the previous menu
③--- OK Key: Selects menu, or confirms the selected operation. It is also a shortcut to
enter into “QUICK SELECT” menu.
④--- LEFT(◄) arrow key: Decrease the volume. You can also use it to move cursor
LEFT.
⑤--- DOWN(▼) arrow key: Selects the previous channel. You can also use it to move
cursor DOWN.
⑥--- RIGHT(►) arrow key: Increase the volume. You can also use it to move cursor
RIGHT.
⑦--- UP(▲) arrow key: Selects the next channel. You can also use it to move cursor UP.
⑧--- Standby Power key: Switches unit to Standby mode or Operation mode.

use them as UP and DOWN navigation keys.
14 Pg-up/Pg-down Press to Fast Forward or Rewind while playing a media.
You can also press this button to Zoom In or Zoom Out
while in ZOOM mode.
15 Prev/Next Skip next or previous media while in media playback.
16~19 Multi-function key These are Multi-Function keys for Teletext. You can also
use these keys in the Menu which indicate their functions.
20 RECLIST Press to display Recorded File List.
21 SUBT Turns on/off subtitle display.
22 TXT Turns on/off Teletext display.
23 FAV Displays the favorite channel list menu.
24 REC Press to start recording currently view channel via USB
port.
25 Play/Pause Play or pause media playback.

5. Connection
5.1 Connecting to TV
Connecting to CVBS/L/R/S-Video ports:
a) Put your unit on a firm, level surface with at least a 10 cm gap around all the sides and the
TV you are going to connect it to.
b) Turn off the mains socket your TV is plugged into or pull the plug out of the socket.
c) Take the aerial lead out of the TV and connect it to the RF IN connector on the back panel
of the unit.
d) Connect the RF cable (not supplied) between the RF OUT socket on the unit and the
aerial socket on the TV. This cable will allow you to watch TV programs as you did before
but with the unit connected.
e) Connect the three AV cables between the “CVBS R L” sockets on the unit and the same
sockets on your TV.
f) Plug the mains lead into the mains socket.
g) Plug the TV back into the mains socket.
h) Turn on the power switch at the back of the unit.
Fig5-1 is an illustration for connection of AV cables (CVBS R L S-Video) between the unit and
TV. The connections of YPbPr are similar with that, as shown in Fig5-2.

5.2 Best Possible Connections
The capabilities of your existing equipment, especially your TV, will determine your connection
possibilities. However, the following guidelines describe which options provide the best picture
and sound quality.
Component-YPbPr (red green blue cable) provides best possible picture quality.
S-Video provides excellent picture quality.
Composite Video (a yellow video jack) provides good picture quality.
S/P DIF (coaxial) connection provides the clearest sound. Connect it to your Hi-Fi system
for the best sound quality.
6. First Time Install
When all the connections have been made properly, turn on your TV and switch the TV to the
input that the unit is connected to. If the unit is turn on for the first time, it is recommended to run
the initial install first. Use the remote controller to finish the installation.
1) When the unit is turn on, “TEAC” logo will be displayed on the screen as shown in Fig6-1.
Consequently, the “Initial Install” menu will be displayed on screen as shown in Fig6-2.
Press LEFT/RIGHT key to choose the OSD language and area. The default language is
English and the default area is Australia.

2) Press OK key, another dialogue box will pop up on screen as shown in Fig6-3. It’s
recommended to choose “Yes” for auto setup at the first time. Choose “No” to exit Setup.
3) Once you choose auto setup, “Channel Search” menu will be displayed on screen as
shown in Fig6-4 and the unit will automatically search the channels. Wait until the search
completed. The found channels will be automatically stored. When finished, the first found
TV channel will be displayed.
7. Digital TV
7.1 Basic Operations
Once channel search is completed, you can start to watch digital TV channels and radio
broadcasts. Some basic operations are taught in this chapter.
7.1.1 Switching On and Off
Whenever you are not using the unit, press the POWER key on the remote control to switch it to
standby mode. You can also press it to startup the unit.

7.1.2 Changing Channels
You can change the current channel using one of the following methods:
Press UP/DOWN keys to go to previous/next channel.
Enter your desired channel number using NUMERICAL (0-9) keys to switch to the channel
directly.
Note:
If the channel number you have entered is not a stored channel, you will remain in the
original channel unchanged.
7.1.3 Volume
Press LEFT/RIGHT keys to adjust the volume, as shown in Fig7-1.

7.1.4 Mute
Press the MUTE key to enable or disable the audio output, as shown in Fig7-2.

Whenever you change channel, using the UP/DOWN keys or the numeric keys, the unit
displays the channel picture along with an information banner at the bottom of the screen, as
shown in Fig7-3. This will remain on the screen for approximately three seconds. The
information banner can also be displayed at any time while watching TV by pressing the INFO
key on the remote control.
Press the INFO key twice to display the detailed information of the current program while
playing, as shown in Fig7-4. The information will disappear if you press the INFO key again or
EXIT key.
7.1.6 Closed Caption
You can press the SUBT key to turn on/off closed caption on the screen. The available closed
caption depends on the broadcaster. The default language for closed caption is English.
7.1.7 TV Screen Format
Press ASPECT key to change the TV screen format, including 4:3 LB, 4:3PS or 16:9. The
function depends on the broadcaster and your TV set. It’s recommended that you choose 16:9
as default if your TV is wide screen format or 4:3PS if your TV is standard format.

7.1.8 Channel List
Press OK key to display the channel list. There are 8 different modes of the channel list,
including None, News, science, Sports, Movies, Kids, Music and Fashion. You can press
LEFT/GIGHT keys to switch between these modes and press OK key again to confirm the mode
change, and the highlighted channel will be displayed. You can’t change to a channel list without
any channel include.

7.1.9 Switching Between TV and Radio Channels
Press TV/RADIO key on your remote control to switch between TV channels and Radio
channels.
Note:
If you changed the TV/Radio channels, the channel list mode will also be changed.
7.1.10 EPG
Besides broadcasting TV and Radio programs, some broadcasters also send information about
current and future program such as: program titles, show times and brief descriptions of what
the program is about. This unit displays the information on the Electronic Program Guide (EPG).
The unit provides two EPG display options. Those are Daily Mode and Weekly Mode.
In Daily Mode, the EPG page will contain the information about the current and the next
program, while in Weekly Mode you can see information about the channels for the next seven
days (depending on the broadcaster).
To enter into EPG, do as the following instructions and refer to the instructions on screen.
1) Press EPG key to enter into “Daily Mode” menu.
2) Press UP/DOWN keys to navigate the list, the forecast of the highlighted program will be
shown on the right window.
3) Press yellow key on the remote control to view the extended information of the program.
4) Press green key on your remote control to switch to Weekly mode. In Weekly Mode,
a) Press UP/DOWN keys to navigate the channel list, the programs of the highlighted
channel will be shown on the right window.
b) Press LEFT/RIGHT keys to browse the 7-day programs of the highlighted channel.
c) Press yellow key on the remote control to view the extended information of the
program.
d) Press red key on the remote control to switch to Daily Mode.
5) Press Menu or EXIT key to exit EPG.

7.2 Main Menu
Press MENU key to enter into “Main Menu” menu, as shown in Fig7-12.
There are 6 sub-menus. They are Digital TV, Movie, Music, Photo, Games and Disk Manager.
Digital TV: Setup and manage TV channel and unit.
Movie: Playback video via USB storage device.
Music: Playback music via USB storage device..
Photo: Playback photo via USB storage device.
Games: Play built-in games in the unit.
Disk Manager: Manage recorded files in USB storage device.
In Main Menu, press UP/DOWN key to choose “Digital TV” option and then press OK key to
enter “Digital TV” menu as shown in Fig7-13.

7.3 Channel Manager
Channel Manager offers some useful functions such as channel organizer, sorting, grouping, edit
and delete all.
There are two independent pages for TV and RADIO channel management. You can enter the
page via “Digital TVChannel Manager”, as shown in Fig7-14.

7.3.1 Channel Organizer
Channel Organizer includes the following functions:
Favorite channel edit
Delete channel
Move channel
Lock channel.
Rename channel
To enter Channel Organizer menu, just choose “Channel organizer” option in “Digital TV” menu.
Unit will display a menu as shown in Fig7-15.
To operate the channel manager, please refer to the on screen instructions.

Switching of TV/Radio channel list: Press TV/RADIO key to switch between TV channel list
and radio channel list.
Favorite channel edit: Press UP/DOWN keys to select a channel. Press the red key on remote
control to set the favorite channel. A heart shape indicator will show at the end of the channel
name. Press red key again to cancel the setting.
Delete channel: Press UP/DOWN keys to select a channel. Press the green key on remote
control to delete channel. Before deleting, the system will ask you to input the passwords. The
default password is “0000”. If the password is correct, it will show a delete indicator on the end
of the channel name. When you return the menu, it will delete the channel automatically. If you
press the green key again before return, it will cancel the deleting.
Move channel: Press UP/DOWN keys to select the channel name you want to move. Press the
yellow key on remote control to mark the channel name. Move UP/DOWN key to the position
you want to move to and press OK key to confirm. The moved channel name will be moved to
the specified position. The other channels under it will move down accordingly.
Lock channel: Press UP/DOWN keys to select the channel name you want to lock. Press blue
key on remote control to lock it. Press the blue key again to unlock it. The locked channel will
not be display in DTV.
Rename channel: Press UP/DOWN keys to select the channel name you want to rename.
Press LEFT/RIGHT key and an edit window will be displayed as shown in Fig7-16. Input new
name of the channel according to the instructions in the window. Once completed, press OK key
to confirm.
