Polarization

Antenna
Grounding

If
an
outside
antenna
or
cable
system
is
connected
to
the
product,
be
sure
the
antenna
or
cable
system
is
grounded
so
as
to
provide
some
protection
against
voltage
surges
and
built-up
static
charges.
Article
810
of
the
National
Electrical
Code,
ANSI/NFPA
70,
provides
information
with
regard
to
proper
grounding
of
the
mast
and
supporting
structure,
grounding
of
the
lead-in
wire
to
an
antenna
discharge
unit,
size
of
grounding
conductors,
location
of
antenna-discharge
unit,
connection
to
grounding
electrodes,
and
re-
quirements
for
the
grounding
electrode.

CATV
system
installer's
attention
to
Section
820-40
of
the
NEC

guidelines

proper
grounding

As
the
unit
incorporates
a
powerful
amplifier,
heat

radiated

back

top

the
unit;

location

the
unit

strong
FM
signals,
the
"T"-type
FM
antenna
provided
is
sufficient.
Extend
this
into
a
"T"
shape
and
connect
the
two
wires
at
the
base
of
the
T
to
the
antenna
terminals,
as
shown.

top
of
the
T
and
fix
with
thumb
tacks,
or
the
like,

a
wall

frame

best

one

elements.

coaxial
cable

reception

areas.
Connect

loop
antenna's
wires

terminals

shelf,
for
example,
or
hang
it
on
a
window
frame,
etc.,
in
the
direction
which
gives
the
best
reception
and
as
far
away
as
possible
from
the
entire
system,

How

Control
This
shifts

Button
This
button
compensates
for
the
non-linear
response
of
the
human
ear
at
low
volumes.
Set
this

to
the

position

listening
at
normal
levels.

Tuning
Manual
Tuning
is
generally
used
to
tune
to
stations
broadcasting
a
signal

too
weak
to
be
received

Tuning.

TUNING
button
so
that
the
AUTO
indicator
does
not
appear

the

the
UP

TUNING

pressed
momentarily,
the
frequency
changes
by
a
fixed
step
(see

below).
If
either
tuning
button
is
held
depressed
for
more
than
0.5
seconds,
the
frequency
changes
continuously
until
the
button
is
released.

Preset
Tuning
The
receiver
has
a
preset
memory.
Preset
tuning
allows
you
to
store
the
frequencies
of
up
to
24
stations

channel
buttons.
Once
these
frequencies
have
been
stored
in
memory,
they
are
retained
for
a
week
even
if
the
power
has
been
turned
off.

This
button
is
used

alternate
FM
reception
between
stereo

mono.

To
receive
FM
broadcasts
in
stereo,
press
this
button
to
set
to
the
stereo
mode
(so
that
the
STEREO
indicator
lights).

Mono
If
this
button
is
pressed
again
while
receiving
an
FM
broadcast
in
the
stereo
mode,
the
MONO
indicator
lights
and
the
FM
broadcast
will
be
received
in
mono.
It
may
be
difficult
to
hear
stereo
broadcasts
clearly
in
areas
where
the
signals
are
weak
and
reception
is
noisy;
in
such
a
case,
use
the
mono
mode
to
reduce
noise.
