The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol below indicates that this electronic equipment is
intended to be disposed in a separate collection and not in an unsorted municipal
waste, in order to provide for the treatment of WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic
Equipment) using best available recovery and recycling techniques. Specific treatment
for WEEE is indispensable in order to avoid the dispersion of pollutants and other
hazardous substances into the waste stream, while recycling leads to reduction of
disposal of waste and the negative impacts on environment and human health. That is,
priority is given to reuse of WEEE in its components, subassemblies and
consumables. As the final holder, the user has an important role in contributing to
reuse, recycling and other forms of recovery of WEEE and is responsible to return this

2. The installation and commissioning of the device can only be performed by specialized technicians.
3. The device is accurately manufactured and tested. In any case, the product is not recommended for use
where an error of operations can cause property damage and/or injury to persons.
4. It is expressly not recommended maintenance inside the device which must be carried out by Tema
Telecomunicazioni, the removal of the closures will invalidate the warranty and makes accessible internal
parts with risk of electric shock.

1. PRESENTATION
The AD696/A Paging Microphone Base can be connected to an input of a Tema AD300 series analog power
amplifier to launch announcements on the speaker network.
The desktop base is equipped with a "Talk" switch to enable the microphone and a button to enable the emission of
a chime sound before the announcement. The chime sound is fixed and cannot be modified.
A light ring on the neck of the microphone indicates the activity state of microphone transmission.
The flexible arm at two points is removable and is fixed on the base with a standard XLR connector.
It has an "Always on" mechanical function realized by means of a switch on the body of the microphone base.
The microphone, of high quality, allows to transmit crystal-clear and intelligible voice announcements.
The microphone base is equipped with an audio cable for connection to the Tema AD300 amplification systems.

4. OPERATION
Used together with the TEMA amplifiers of the AD300 series, the AD696/A microphone base allows an operator to
transmit a message to a network of loudspeakers for alerts or announcements.
At the base of the sponge wind cap there is located a red plastic ring. This is illuminated to signal that the
microphone base is on, ready to output a message, the microphone is open, "On air".
Every operator who has the AD696/A microphone base can spread an announcement on the network speaker in a
simple way:
•Set the switch on the base in position "I" to turn on the base
•Speak immediately after switching on clearly and quietly to give the announcement
•At the end of the announcement, switch off the base by turning the switch to the "0" position
or
•Set the switch on the base in position "I" to turn on the base
•Press the button to issue the warning start tone (typical "chime")
•Speak immediately after switching on clearly and quietly to give the announcement
•At the end of the announcement, switch off the base by turning the switch to the "0" position
At the end of the message, make sure to turn off the base (switch in position "0") to "close" the microphone so that
it does not capture ambient noise or anything else that would involuntarily be played to the sound equipment.

5. CONNECTION AND SUPPLY OF MICROPHONE BASE
Open the door located under the base and insert two 1.5V AA batteries in the appropriate compartment respecting
the correct insertion polarity, close the door.
Connect the cable with the supplied XLR connector on the back of the microphone stand.
The other end of the cable will be connected to the amplification system by direct wiring or by interposing any
adapter connectors.
In the case of Tema supply of the microphone base together with the amplification devices, the cable will be
supplied with the appropriate connections already made.
