Chapter 1 Introduction
1.1 Introduction.
311P / 311P+ is a wireless PCI network adapter with up
to150Mbps transmission rate. It utilizes the latest wireless
networking standard------ IEEE802.11n, and is compatible with
802.11b/g standards, which multiples the wireless signal coverage
and reduces “dead spots” in the wireless coverage area. 311P+
differs from the 311P in that it provides a detachable, omni-
directional antenna.
311P / 311P ＋is suitable for desktop computer. Its
transmitting rate can reach up to 150Mbps when connected to
Tenda 150M 11N ireless Router.The high speed of wireless
networking makes it ideal for on-line applications like surfing,
streaming video, gaming, downloading and Voice over IP
telephone, and gives you much headroom to run movies and
photos in LAN.
In a word, 311P / 311P+ is a 150Mbps ireless PCI Adapter
with robust signal, long transmitting distance and stable
performance.

1.3 LED Indicator Description
There is one status indicator on the side of the wireless network
adapter. It always remains ON when working correctly and flashes
when transferring data.
1.4 Product Features

Supports 20MHz/40MHz frequency width.
Detects wireless network and changes transmitting rate

1.5 Application
311P / 311P+ ireless PCI Adapter offers fast, reliable and
cost- effective solution for wireless access.
The applications are as follows:
1. Enables staff members who require higher mobility in the office
to have access to wireless networks anywhere inside their
company.
2. Enables wireless communication for enterprises or places which
are not suitable for wired LAN installation because of budget or
environment restrictions, such as historical buildings, rentals, or
places for short-term usage.
3. Suitable for enterprises or individuals who often changes
network topology.
4. Suitable for enterprises or individuals who would like to avoid
using expensive cables or renting lines etc.
1.6 Be ore Installation
1. e suggest reading through the whole user guide before
hooking up the 311P/ 311P+ PCI Adapter.
2. Please close or uninstall other manufacturers’ configuration

programs before you install that of 311P/ 311P+ to avoid
possible UI collision.
3.In order to avoid collision between Tenda 311P / 311P+
network adapter and those of other manufactures we recommend
that you first disable other manufacturers’ wireless network
adapters while installing the driver.
1.7 Disable other manu acturers’ wireless network adapters
1．Right click “My Computer” and select “Properties. Then select
“Hardware” and click” Device Manager”
2. Select the network adapter you want to disable and then right

click to select “Disable”
1.8 Product Maintenance
1. Protect the product from water and humid environment to
guarantee its normal performance.
2. Protect it against other hazardous substances (such as acid and
alkali, etc).
3. Please don’t directly expose the product to the sun or other
heat-emitting objects
4. Contact Tenda customer service if any problems occur.

Chapter 2 Installation Guide
This chapter will assist you in installing network adapter
software packets with the included software CD. The packet
integrates driver and configuration software, so it will install the
configuration software automatically in the process of installing
the driver.
Here we take 311P as an example to explain the installation
steps (under indows XP).Installation in other operating systems,
please refer to their corresponding prompts.
1. Insert the wireless adapter into the PCI slot of your computer
when it is turned off and start it.
2. hen The “Found New Hardware izard” system dialogue
pops up, we recommend you select” Cancel” and use the included
Setup izard CD for fast installation.

2. Put the included software CD into the CD drive of your
computer and the driver will run automatically (Double click
“Tenda.exe”in the software CD and manually install when it
doesn’t auto-run), and then click “Enter” on the welcome
interface.

4. Check “I accept the terms of license agreement” and click
“Next”
5. Two set up types are provided: one is” Install driver and Tenda
LAN Config Tool” the other is “Install driver only”, we
recommend using the default method.

6. Click “Install” to install the driver and configuration software.
7. Click “Finish” to complete the driver and configuration
software installation.

Chapter 3 Client Utility Inter ace
This wireless PCI network adapter uses Tenda client utility
interface (In the following text it is abbreviated to UI), and all
functions can be configured via this software.
Select “Start”—“All Programs” —“Tenda ireless”— Tenda
ireless Utility”, or double click the shortcut on your PC’s
desktop to start the UI.
Right click Tenda UI on the lower right corner of the desktop to
switch between Tenda UI and Zero config, Radio On/Off and exit
UI,etc.
Note:
1. Under indows 7 and VISTA, there is no switching function
between Tenda UI and Zero config.
2. Operation on Tenda UI becomes impossible when wireless is
disabled or it is switched to Zero config.
3. You need to use the Tenda UI for wireless configuration under
indows 2000.

4.Under indows XP or indows 2003, if you want to use the
system included wireless configuration program to configure the
network adapter, please first radio off Tenda UI or switch it to
Zero config.
5. Client application is “Station Mode” (Client Mode) by default.
6. Tenda UI users must be administrators; some operations may be
inaccessible to other ordinary users due to their given restricted
rights.
Client UI enables configuration of two modes: Station mode
(Client Mode) and AP mode (soft AP Mode).
3.1 Station mode (Client Mode)
Station mode (Client Mode) overview:
This wireless network adapter is a common method for client
signal reception.
3.1.1 Status
The Status window displays status information regarding the

wireless adapter and wireless network, including SSID,
Authentication type, Encryption Type, IP address, subnet mask,
gateway, and so on.
3.1.2 Site Survey
The Site Survey interface displays the available wireless networks
in the area. Select one and the detailed information of this selected
wireless network will be displayed.
Before you connect wireless network, please click “Refresh” to
update the wireless network list and select the one you want to
connect, and then click “Connect”.
A dialogue box will pop up when connecting wireless network.

For the non-encrypted network, directly confirm instead of
modifying configurations, however for the encrypted wireless
network, configuration of key is needed.
3.1.3 Pro ile
This window saves the general wireless parameters and profiles,
which help to quickly connect to the specified wireless network.
Click one item in the list, the detailed information of the selected
profile will be displayed. To connect to wireless network, click
“Connect” or double click wireless network name.

Modi y: To modify Site Status and Security Setting of the existing
profiles.
Delete: To delete the existing profiles.
New: To create a new profile and configure the relevant
parameters on “site status” and “security setting”.

1）Click “New” to create a new file.

2）Configure “Site Status” in the appearing window. There are
two network types: Infrastructure and Ad-Hoc. The default is
Infrastructure.

Infrastructure is an application mode which integrates the wired
and wireless LAN structure. It differs from Ad-Hoc in that the
computer installed with the wireless network adapter has to fulfill
wireless communication via AP or wireless router. It has “wireless
AP + wireless network adapter” mode and “wireless router +
wireless network adapter” mode.
Ad-Hoc is a special wireless mobile network application mode.
All nodes in the network are equal.
hen you are using wireless network adapter to connect AP
or wireless router, please select Infrastructure.
3）Security Setting: Enable you to configure authentication type,
encryption type, and key. The configurations here must be the
