Safety notes
WARNING
Improper electrical installation or excessive mains
voltage may result in an electrical shock.
• The device is suitable for a mains voltage of 230V ~
/ 50 Hz. When connecting the device, make sure
that the correct voltage is present. You can find more
information in this respect on the type plate.
• Check the device regularly for damage.
Immediately disconnect the mains plug and do not
operate the device if its casing or mains cord is
defective or exhibits other visible damages.
• If the mains cord is damaged, only have it replaced
by the manufacturer, its customer service depart-
ment or a person with similar qualifications.
• This device is disconnected from the grid by pulling
the power plug. Thus, make sure that the power
plug is always easily accessible.
• If the device emits smoke, smells burnt or produces
unusual sounds, immediately disconnect it from the
mains and do not operate it further.
• Never open the device housing.
Repairs may only be carried out by an authorised
specialist workshop. In the process, only parts that
correspond to the original device data may be used.
• Only use the accessory products specified by the
manufacturer.
• Only use the device in indoor areas.
• Do not operate the device in wet rooms and protect
it from dripping and sprayed water.
Make sure that no vases or other vessels filled with
liquid are located on the device or nearby in order
to prevent liquid from penetrating the housing. If
water or other debris end up penetrating the case,
immediately pull the mains plug and take out any
batteries. In such a case, send the device to our
service address.
• Never touch the mains plug with wet hands.
Children can become trapped in the packing film
when playing and suffocate.
• Do not allow children to play with the device or the
packing film. Danger of suffocation.
• Ensure that children do not remove small parts
from the device or take them off of the device (e.g.
control knobs or plug adapters). They could swallow
the parts and choke.
• Never let children use use electrical equipment
unsupervised.
Swallowing the product's battery may result in
severe internal injury or even death.
• Store both new and used button cell batteries so
that they are not accessible to children.
• If it is no longer possible to safely close the battery
compartment, stop using the product and store it
so that it is not accessible for children.
• If you suspect that a button cell battery has been
swallowed or otherwise incorporated, promptly
consult a physician.
Leaking battery acid may lead to chemical burns.
• Do not allow battery acid to come into contact with
skin, eyes or mucus membranes. In the event of
contact with acid, immediately flush the applicable
areas with plenty of clean water and consult a phy-
sician if necessary.
Batteries (particularly lithium batteries) can ex-
plode if used improperly.
• Never attempt to recharge batteries.
• Only use batteries of the same or equivalent type.
• You may not heat or short circuit batteries and
rechargeable batteries or dispose of them in fire.
• Do not expose batteries and rechargeable batteries
to direct sunlight.

5• Cinebar 52 THX
Extended listening at high volumes may
lead to hearing loss.
• To avoid damage to health, avoid extended listening
at high volumes.
• When the volume is set high, always keep a certain
distance from the device and never place your ear
directly on the speaker.
• If a speaker is set to full volume, this may produce
very high sound pressure. This may have psycholog-
ical consequences and also cause physical injury.
Children and pets are particularly at risk. Set your
signal source device volume control to a low setting
before turning on the power.
CAUTION
An unstable base may cause a speaker to tip, which
poses a risk of serious injury or death, especially for
children. You can prevent a large number of acci-
dents by taking the following precautions:
• Only place the subwoofer on the floor.
• If you want to use underframes or speaker stands,
only use those recommended by the manufacturer.
• When storing the speakers, make sure that they are
in a stable position and that there is no risk of them
falling or being pulled down.
An unsuitable location could lead to damage.
• If the speakers are not securely mounted, do not
use them in vehicles, in unstable locations, on
wobbly tripods or furniture, on underdimensioned
brackets etc. The speakers may tip or fall over and
cause injury to persons or be damaged themselves.
• Place the speakers in such a way that they cannot
be knocked over inadvertently and make sure that
the cables do not pose a trip hazard.
• Carefully follow the operating instructions.
• If mounting the speakers on the wall, make sure
that this task is done in a professional manner.
• In case of a wall mounting make sure that the walls
have sufficient carrying capacity.
When mounting speakers on walls, proceed with
caution and follow the instruction below:
• Make sure that there are no cables or pipes in the
drilling areas. Before you drill, use a metal detector
to check the applicable areas. Otherwise there is a
risk of electrocution/short-circuiting!
NOTE
External influences may damage or destroy the
device.
• If the device is to be left unsupervised for a long
period (e.g. during a holiday), or if a thunderstorm is
forecast, disconnect the power plug from the mains
power supply. Otherwise sudden overvoltage could
cause the device to become defective.
• In the event of prolonged absence, remove the
batteries from the remote control. Leaked batteries
may damage the remote control.
• If the device is subjected to warm temperatures
after being cold (e.g. after transport), condensation
may occur inside of it. In this case, wait at least 2
hours before you connect and activate it.
Improper use may lead to damage or fire.
• Do not place open flames such as burning candles
or similar on the device.
• Ensure sufficient ventilation.
• Do not place the device in direct sunlight.

Old devices must not be disposed of
with household waste!
If the device is no longer operational, every
consumer is required by law to dispose
of old devices separately from household
waste, e.g. at a collection point run by the
communal authority/borough. This ensures
that old devices are recycled in a profes-
sional manner and also rules out negative
consequences for the environment.
For this reason, electrical equipment is
marked with the following symbol.
Batteries and rechargeable batteries

Setup/wall mounting
Setup location
Cinebar 52 THX
The space under the TV set is an ideal location.
Hang the Cinebar 52 THX either directly on the wall or
use the stand bto set it up under the television.
Subwoofer CB 52 SW
You should also place the subwoofer on the floor as
close as possible to the television. However, you can
also set it up at another location in the room as the
human ear is unable to localise low tones.
However, do not set it up in the corner of the room as
this may result in uncontrollable frequency rises.
Location tips
• Select a stable, level base.
In case of wall mounting, follow the instructions in
the next chapter.
• Make sure that the environment is clean and free
from dust.
• Select a location away from heat sources and direct
sunlight.
• Lay the connector cable so that it does not pose a
tripping hazard.
• Do not place any heavy objects on the cable or the
devices.
Wall mounting
You will need the following material to mount the
speaker on a solid stone wall:
• 2x dowels (ø 8 mm)
• 2 x screws, 5 x 50 mm
(screw head = ø approx. 10 mm)
NOTE
Proceed with care when mounting the product on
the wall and follow the instructions below.
• Only qualified persons may mount the
Cinebar 52 THX on the wall.
• The product may only be mounted on a suitable,
solid wall. Special dowels or anchors may be
necessary when mounting the product on light-
weight walls. Consult a qualified professional in
this case.
CAUTION
• Make sure that there are no cables or pipes in the
drilling areas. Before you drill, use a metal detec-
tor to check the applicable areas. Otherwise there
is a risk of electrocution/short-circuiting!
1. Space the holes in the wall at a distance of 54.75
cm apart (corresponding to the distance between
the two mounting profiles where you would like to
mount the Cinebar 52 THX). Use a ruler, pencil and
spirit-level for this.
2. Use a metal detector to check the drill areas. If
necessary, select another area for mounting the
speakers.
3. Use a 8 mm rock drill to drill holes, which are ap-
prox. 45 mm deep, at the marked positions.
4. Insert the 2 dowels (ø 8 mm) all the way in the drill
holes.
5. Screw one screw (5 x 50 mm) into each dowel until
there is approx. 4 mm of space between the wall
and the screw head.
6
6. Press the Cinebar 52 THX up against the wall so
that the screws vanish in the keyhole openings
(6). Now pull the Cinebar 52 THX down so that the
screws slip into the small slot.
7. If applicable, screw the screws further in
or out until
the Cinebar 52 THX is securely mounted on the
wall.

Troubleshooting
The following advice should help you to solve problems. If this does not help, you will find useful information in
the detailed FAQs on our website. Otherwise, please contact our hotline (see page 3). Take note of the warranty
instructions.
Problem Possible cause Solution
The device doesn't emit
any sound.
The wrong source has been se-
lected.
Select the correct source (see page 15).
The device is set to “mute”. Push the button or adjust the volume.
The volume is set to “0”. Increase the volume.
The sound is not ideal. The settings are incorrect. Set the bass tones, treble tones and sound
effects (see page 15).
The subwoofer isn’t
working.
The subwoofer is off or doesn’t
have any power.
Activate the subwoofer with the switch (29).
Check the power cord and socket.
The volume has been set too low. Use the Volume control (16) and/or the Sub
button (18) to increase the volume.
Fuse defective. 1. 2.
Disconnect the power
cord.
Carefully pull the fuse
holder on the mains
connection jack out.
Push the old fuse
down and out. Insert a
new fuse (2 A delayed
action) and push the
holder back.
The subwoofer hums. The subwoofer is connected to a
different power circuit from the
rest of the system.
Connect the subwoofer and Cinebar 52 THX to
the same power circuit.
The hum is due to line distur-
bance.
Buy a mains filter and connect both devices to it.
The hum is caused by a multiple
socket strip.
Use a different multiple socket strip or connect
the subwoofer directly to the wall socket. It may
also help to insert the mains plug in the socket
the other way around.
The subwoofer does not
automatically turn off.
The AUTO/ON switch (26) is not
set to “Auto”.
Set the AUTO/ON switch (26) to “Auto”.
Playback is noisy. Generally speaking, the
Cinebar 52 THX is a very low-noise
system. The speaker system with
very high resolution in the high
range area can expose the poor
quality of a signal source (e.g.
from MP3 files).
Ensure that the source is sending a clear signal
to the Cinebar 52 THX.
