INTRODUCTION
2.1 Overview
This section contains a general overview of the
VECTOR resistance technology and information
about how to Service and Support.
Thank you for purchasing the VECTOR by
TheraBand.
The VECTOR is intended for use both indoors
and outdoors in physical therapy, sports
performance and fitness environments.
Heed all warnings and cautions when operating
or maintaining the VECTOR. Contact a qualified
service technician for any procedure that you
cannot perform correctly, completely, and safely.
Follow all instructions carefully.
The VECTOR is intended for use in sports
training, health clubs, gyms, active aging, and
physical therapy facilities. It has been tested and
complies with U.S. and International safety and
durability requirements for use in both home and
commercial environments. This manual will help
you discover and use the equipment’s features.
The patented VECTOR offers a number of significant benefits including:
• Before each use remove cover and review all warnings on internal shaft.
• The ability to change the Weight Equivalent Pull (WEP) level by simply
turning the cap at the top of the VECTOR to select one of three user
configurable resistance levels.
• Fast connect / disconnect from anchor points via a carabiner.
• Improved user safety through use of TVTs. Kevlar® cords inside each elastic
tube limit how far the tube can be stretched during use and reduce a risk
of a band from “snapping back” at the user in the event of an tube failure.
• Outer removable cover that protects the TVTs from UV exposure, dirt,
debris, and contaminants.
• Ability to easily customize the WEP of the VECTOR by changing out TVTs
which are available in different resistance levels. The following chart shows
approximate maximum WEP for various configurations and maximum
allowable stretch. Note that the WEPs are approximate only – the WEP
may vary due to manufacturing tolerances, age of the TVTs, number of
pull cycles on the TVTs, and what percentage of maximum pull length
the cycles were accumulated at (to name some of the variables that will
affect the WEP). Also note that the WEPs shown are just prior to the TVTs
being stretched to the length of the internal Kevlar – once the TVTs are
stretched to the length of the internal Kevlar cord, the load will increase
instantaneously if the user attempts to continue stretching the TVTs.
OWNER'S MANUAL |7

The following charts show the approximate WEP
for standard and Group exercise VECTORs.
The vertical axis of the chart is for the various
ways the VECTOR can be configured with the first
letter being the TVTs in disc 1 (L=Light, H=Heavy),
second letter is the TVTs in disc 2 and third letter is
the TVTs in disc 3.

This section provides information on
the routine inspection of the VECTOR,
along with replacement of Normal
wear components.
5.1 Inspecting TVTs
WARNING
TVTs must be inspected weekly for
wear and abrasion. Replace any TVTs
that are questionable.
The following procedure is for
inspecting the TVTs. Section 5.2
provides instructions on the procedure
for replacing TVTs.
5.1.1 Remove outer removable
cover by pushing the cover slightly
toward the swivel end of the
VECTOR. The cover is shown in the
picture in the locked position where
the arrow on the upper portion of
the base assembly aligns with the
locked lock icon on the removable
cover.
5.1.2 With the removable cover
pushed toward the swivel end
of the VECTOR, rotate the tube
counter-clockwise (as viewed from
the carabiner loop end) until the
arrow on the base assembly aligns
with the unlocked lock icon to
release the cover. Slide the cover
off the VECTOR over the carabiner
attachment loop.

5.1.3 Visually inspect each TVTs for signs of abrasion
or “pilling” on the surface of the tube concentrating on
the portion of the TVT nearest the swivel end of the
VECTOR. Picture shows a TVT that has snapped with
protective Kevlar string intact.
5.1.5 Re-install the removable cover by sliding the
removable cover over the carabiner attachment loop.
Align the arrow on the base assembly with the unlocked
lock icon and push the removable cover against the
upper portion of the base assembly until it stops.
5.1.4 Replace any TVTs necessary following the
procedure in section 5.2.
5.1.6 Lock the cover by rotating the cover until the
arrow on the base assembly aligns with the locked lock
icon while the removable cover is pushed toward the

5.2 Replacing single or
multiple TVTs
WARNING
• Inspect TVTs weekly. Replace any
TVTs that appear worn or abraded
prior to use.
• Replace all TVTs every six months
or sooner if they appear worn or
abraded.
The following section provides
instructions on replacing single or
multiple TVTs. A video showing how
to replace a TVT is also available at
www.kayezen.com.
5.2.1 Release cap by squeezing cap
release tabs together.
5.2.2 Remove cap by sliding cap
toward swivel with the cap release
tabs depressed until top of cap is
past the bottom of the cap release
tabs. Slide cap off of the end of the
VECTOR.
Completely remove the TVT from
the VECTOR. DO NOT remove more
than one TVT at a time. Removal
of multiple TVTs may cause disc
assembly to become unseated
making reassembly much more
difficult.
5
OWNER'S MANUAL |15

5.2.3 Remove outer removable cover by pushing the
cover slightly toward the swivel end of the VECTOR.
The cover is shown in the picture in the locked position
where the arrow on the upper portion of the base
assembly aligns with the locked lock icon on the
removable cover.
5.2.4 With the removable cover pushed toward the
swivel end of the VECTOR, rotate the tube counter-
clockwise (as viewed from the carabiner loop end)
until the arrow on the base assembly aligns with the
unlocked lock icon to release cover. Slide the cover off
of the VECTOR over the carabiner attachment loop.
5.2.5 Release the VECTOR tube from the flower petal
by pulling the ball end of the TVT slightly toward the
carabiner attachment loop and out from the center
shaft.
5
OWNER'S MANUAL |16

5.2.6 Push the released TVT slightly through the discs
toward the swivel end of the VECTOR until the cone end
of the TVT is accessible, then pull the TVT out through
the disc assembly.
5.2.7 Completely remove the TVT from the VECTOR.
DO NOT remove more than one TVT at a time. Removal
of multiple TVTs may cause disc assembly to become
unseated making reassembly much more difficult.
5.2.8 Take a new TVT and thread the ball end of the
TVT through the empty holes in the disc assembly.
5
5.2.9 Pull the ball end to the carabiner attachment loop
end of the VECTOR until the ball is slightly past the
lower surface of the flower petal. Secure the TVT by
moving the ball end of the TVT toward the center shaft
until the TVT is inside the aperture of the flower petal.
Release the ball end of the TVTs.
5.2.10 Repeat steps 5.2.5 through 5.2.9 for as many
TVTs as necessary.
OWNER'S MANUAL |17
