There is nothing ompli ated about operating and maintaining your Thermo
King unit, but a few minutes studying this manual will be time well spent.
Performing pre-trip he ks and enroute inspe tions on a regular basis will
minimize operating problems. A regular maintenan e program will also help
to keep your unit in top operating ondition. If fa tory re ommended
pro edures are followed, you will find that you have pur hased the most
effi ient and dependable temperature ontrol system available.
All servi e requirements, major and minor, should be handled by a Thermo
King dealer for four very important reasons:
• They are equipped with the fa tory re ommended tools to perform all
servi e fun tions
• They have fa tory trained and ertified te hni ians
• They have genuine Thermo King repla ement parts
• The warranty on your new unit is valid only when the repair and
repla ement of omponent parts is performed by an authorized Thermo
King dealer
Software License
The produ t in ludes software that is li ensed under a non-ex lusive, non-
subli ensable, terminable and limited li ense to use the software as installed

on the produ t for its intended purpose. Any removal, reprodu tion, reverse
engineering, or other unauthorized use of the software is stri tly prohibited.
Ha king the produ t or installing unapproved software may void the
warranty. The owner or operator shall not reverse engineer, de ompile, or
disassemble the software, ex ept and only to the extent that su h a tivity is
expressly permitted by appli able law notwithstanding this limitation. The
produ t may in lude third party software separately li ensed as spe ified in

Safety advisories appear throughout this manual as required (refer to
examples below). Your personal safety and the proper operation of this unit
depend upon the stri t observan e of these pre autions.

unit is operating with the doors open.

A battery an be dangerous. Lithium Ion batteries are potentially hazardous.
The ombustion gas from these batteries is toxi and an present a serious
FIRE HAZARD if damaged, defe tive or improperly used. A battery stores
enough ele tri ity to burn you if it dis harges qui kly. Always wear goggles
or safety glasses and personal prote tive equipment when working with a
battery. Do not repla e the battery with any type other than the one
approved by Thermo King for this unit.

Do not apply heat to a losed ooling system. Before applying heat to a
ooling system, drain it. Then flush it with water and drain the water.
Antifreeze ontains water and ethylene gly ol. The ethylene gly ol is
flammable and an ignite if the antifreeze is heated enough to boil off the
water.

Temperatures above 120 degrees F (50 degrees C) an ause serious burns.
Use an infrared thermometer or other temperature measuring devi e

Automatic Start/Stop Operation

The unit an start and run automati ally any time the unit is turned on.
Dis onne t the Hard Stop/Disable Auto Start swit h before doing
inspe tions or working on any part of the unit. Please note that only
Qualified and Certified personnel should attempt to servi e your Thermo
King unit.
Batter Installation and Cable Routing

An improperly installed battery ould result in a fire, explosion, or injury. A
Thermo King approved battery must be installed and properly se ured to
the battery tray.

injury. Battery ables must be installed, routed, and se ured properly to
prevent them from rubbing, haffing, or making onta t with hot, sharp, or

Set all unit ele tri al ontrols to the OFF position before onne ting battery
ables to the battery to prevent unit from starting unexpe tedly and ausing
personal injury.

Do not onne t other manufa turer’s equipment or a essories to the unit
or to the TK Batteries unless approved by Thermo King. Failure to do so an
result in severe damage to equipment and void the warranty.

Refrigerant
Although fluoro arbon refrigerants are lassified as safe, use aution when
working with refrigerants or in areas where they are being used.

Refrigerant in the presen e of an open flame, spark, or ele tri al short
produ es toxi gases that are severe respiratory irritants whi h an ause
serious injury or possible death.
DDAANNGGEERR
RReeffrriiggeerraanntt VVaappoorr HHaazzaarrdd!!
Do not inhale refrigerant. Use aution when working with refrigerant or a
refrigeration system in any onfined area with a limited air supply.
Refrigerant displa es air and an ause oxygen depletion, resulting in
suffo ation and possible death.

Refrigerant in a liquid state evaporates rapidly when exposed to the
atmosphere, freezing anything it onta ts. Wear butyl lined gloves and
other lothing and eye wear when handling refrigerant to help prevent
frostbite.

Refrigerant Oil
Observe the following pre autions when working with or around refrigerant
oil:
WWAARRNNIINNGG
PPeerrssoonnaall PPrroottee ttiivvee EEqquuiippmmeenntt ((PPPPEE)) RReeqquuiirreedd!!
Prote t your eyes from onta t with refrigerant oil. The oil an ause serious
eye injuries. Prote t skin and lothing from prolonged or repeated onta t
with refrigerant oil. To prevent irritation, wash your hands and lothing
thoroughly after handling the oil. Rubber gloves are re ommended.
IImmppoorrttaanntt:: Please note that it is recommended to evacuate all passengers if
a refrigerant leak is suspected. Please use your own specific
company evacuation procedure.
First Aid
RREEFFRRIIGGEERRAANNTT
•EEyyeess:: For onta t with liquid, immediately flush eyes with large amounts
of water and get prompt medi al attention.
•SSkkiinn:: Flush area with large amounts of warm water. Do not apply heat.
Remove ontaminated lothing and shoes. Wrap burns with dry, sterile,
bulky dressing to prote t from infe tion. Get prompt medi al attention.
Wash ontaminated lothing before reuse.
•IInnhhaallaattiioonn:: Move vi tim to fresh air and use Cardio Pulmonary
Resus itation (CPR) or mouth-to-mouth resus itation to restore
breathing, if ne essary. Stay with vi tim until emergen y personnel
arrive.
•FFrroosstt BBiittee:: In the event of frost bite , the obje tives of First Aid are to
prote t the frozen area from further injury, warm the affe ted area
rapidly, and to maintain respiration.

minutes. Get prompt medi al attention.

Resus itation (CPR) or mouth-to-mouth resus itation to restore

arrive.

EELLEECCTTRRIICCAALL SSHHOOCCKK
Take IMMEDIATE a tion after a person has re eived an ele tri al sho k. Get
qui k medi al assistan e, if possible.
The sour e of the sho k must be qui kly stopped, by either shutting off the
power or removing the vi tim. If the power annot be shut off, the wire
should be ut with an non- ondu tive tool, su h as a wood-handle axe or
thi kly insulated able utters. Res uers should wear insulated gloves and
safety glasses, and avoid looking at wires being ut. The ensuing flash an
ause burns and blindness.
If the vi tim must be removed from a live ir uit, pull the vi tim away with a
non- ondu tive material. Use wood, rope, a belt or oat to pull or push the
vi tim away from the urrent. DO NOT TOUCH the vi tim. You will re eive a
sho k from urrent flowing through the vi tim’s body. After separating the
