This battery charging system is designed to charge
Thomas & Betts 144-BAT-LI battery packs only. The
charger can be used with either 110V AC or 220V AC
power supply.
ABOUT THIS GUIDE
1.1
This guide presents the setup, use, maintenance and
troubleshooting of the charger along with instructions
for charging your batteries.
Before using the charger, read all instructions and cautionary markings on the charger, battery and on any product
using the battery.
WARNING
To reduce risk of injury, use this charger only with authorized products. Other batteries or adapters may
cause personal injury and/or damage.
•
Do not expose the charger to rain, snow or direct sunlight.
• Use the charger at an ambient temperature 50°F (10°C) to 95°F (35°C).
• Place the charger in a well-ventilated area, free of foreign objects/matter.
• To reduce risk of electric shock, unplug the charger from the outlet before cleaning.
• Dispose of used batteries in accordance with local hazardous material laws.
• Do not disassemble, incinerate, modify or short circuit batteries, charger or related components.

25°C). Batteries charged in conditions above or below
room temperature will exhibit battery cycle life and
capacity below their rated values. This also applies to
the temperature of the battery itself. Allow batteries to
adjust to room temperature before charging.
OPERATING TEMPERATURE RANGES
CAUTION
Do not charge a battery that has been stored below
32°F (0°C). Allow the battery to warm up to room
temperature before charging.
The operating temperature range of the charger is
50°F (10°C) - 95°F (35°C). For best results, charge

Connect the power cord and charger to a nominal 110-220 AC volt circuit. The indicator lamp should blink red,
indicating stand-by mode. If the power light on the charger fails to light, an internal fuse may have blown and
must be serviced by the manufacturer. Return the charger for repair or replacement immediately.
A temporary adapter can be used to
connect the grounding plug to a
properly grounded two-prong outlet.
A 110-volt adapter is shown below.
Connect the grounding plug on the
adapter to the outlet box using the
cover plate screw. Use the temporary
adapter only until a properly grounded,
three-prong outlet can be installed by a
qualied electrician.
POWER CORD CONNECTION
WARNING
Never alter an AC cord or its plug. If it does not fit into your outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a
qualied electrician. An improper connection can cause an electric shock. To reduce the risk of electric
shock, the charger must be grounded.
WARNING
Before using an adapter, ensure that the outlet box is grounded. If you are not sure the box is grounded,
have it checked and repaired, if necessary, by a qualified electrician.

•Insert the battery into the charger. When the battery is inserted, the charging system begins and the indicator lamp lights
green. When the charge cycle is completed, the indicator lights orange, and the battery is fully charged. A charged battery
may be stored in the charger indenitely.
• If indicator lamp lights red upon battery insertion, the battery is too hot or cold. Remove the battery from the charger and
allow it to reach room temperature before charging.
• If indicator lamp blinks red rapidly upon battery insertion, the battery is impossible to charge and must be replaced.
