Power Options for your TIC Receiver Amplifier
An Important Note on using Power Options
Your TIC outdoor receiver amplifier AMP10 offers you the two options noted
above. Care must be taken when using any mains 120v power source. !Shock or
injury may occur without care using mains 120v power sources!
WARNING! Your TIC AMP10 uses a specially designed friction/ screw lock plug
to connect to your chosen power source. Be very careful to connect this plug
firmly and screw down tightly to protect the AMP10 from moisture or particulate
matter from interfering with power supplied to the unit.
There are two options to power your TIC outdoor receiver amplifier;
1. You may use the provided 12v AMP10 transformer to a standard 110/
120v mains plug. Shown below.
2. You may also use the included 12v car/ power cable adaptor /
transformer to provide power your AMP10 receiver amplifier.

TIC AMP10 multi-use Connectivity
As the original designers and manufacturers of this device TIC Inc., has gone to
great lengths to ensure this device is unique in being able to connect to just
about any music source you may encounter for your total convenience. You are
not limited to those devices shown in the illustration examples above but may
use many more from TV’s to just about any AV source produced.
This TIC outdoor receiver amplifier is a digital PCB amplifier much like those
contained in your modern flat screen TV or Computer. The exterior nature of this
device prohibits the use of large copper coils or heat sources that require venting
like those used in traditional amplifiers. As a weather resistant, not waterproof,
device this would expose this unit’s interior component(s) to moisture, particulate
matter or interference resulting in poor performance or even possible damage to
the receiver amplifier or connected components.
Note: beyond the simple aerials supplied with your new AMP10 for beginning
use, you may wish to purchase better AM/ FM antennas for improved, longer
term, radio use and improved reception overall.

Exterior Installation
Some general notes should you install your TIC receiver amplifier outdoors
1. TIC always recommends that our customers inspect all components and
test their new TIC product prior to any exterior installation to ensure their
familiarity with the device and that everything functions properly prior to
outdoor install.
2. Note that this device is weather resistant in that it has a general resistance
to normal outdoor elements and is not waterproof. Particular care should be
taken with the 12v transformer/ 120v mains power source which water will
damage.
Please re-read “Important Safety Instructions” contained earlier in this
manual.
3. Select a reasonably level surface for the installation of your new TIC
outdoor device. This will prevent movement or excessive vibration during
use. This will also ensure adequate access to connection devices.
4. Do not place this device near any heat sources and be cautious of any
shelf mount near built up barbeque areas etc.
5. Do not place your TIC outdoor device in a depression or area where water
pools or in the direct path of garden sprinklers or too near spas, pools or
anywhere from which it may receive incidental splash water.
6. Avoid any exposure of your new TIC receiver amplifier to chlorinated
solvents, acids such as those often contained in fertilizers and other
solvents which have the potential to eventually wear the internal
components prematurely.
7. There is no requirement for customer to open this unit for any kind of
operation or maintenance. Doing so will void the warranty.
8. Ensure the main, silicone covered rocker, power switch is in the “off”
position when not in use; otherwise the unit may still consume power in the
“stand by” mode or be subject to electrical surges down the power line.
9.
Avoid any shocks, high vibration, collisions or sudden impacts to the
AMP10 receiver amplifier or any of its components.
10.
Test the new unit in as many Modes of operation possible to ensure a
correct trouble free installation of your new receiver amplifier.

unsecured installation of this product. Any and all damage arising from the
installation or use of this product is the purchaser and/ or the final installer’s
sole responsibility. TIC will also not be held responsible for the improper use
or exposure to water of any power supply, supplied with TIC products.
Periodic or occasional maintenance of your TIC products in general cannot
hurt and may help greatly. Inspect the installation area regularly, removing
any dirt, dust or particulate matter from impeding or building up around the
TIC product. The unit may be cleaned using a soft slightly damp cloth with
very mild detergents like dishwashing liquid if desired. Keep away from audio
inputs or output jacks. In very cold climates with moderate to heavy snowfall
or rain an old trick from the major theme parks we supply worldwide is to
place a plastic bag or waterproof cover over the unit for the winter season or
periods it may be not in use or in unusually wet weather conditions.
TIC Corporation offers a full, UCC approved, one year full parts and labor
warranty (see enclosure) on all its products as standard however there are
other 3 and 5 year warranties in use with various TIC authorized Dealers

No activity from the amplifier?
LCD screen not lit
No power
Check your power connections carefully at the 120v
mains, then the transformer and finally at the special
friction lock/ screw lock connection to the amplifier
After checking the power connections thoroughly,
switch on the rear silicone covered rocker switch
and then the front fascia “on” switch
There is a possibility that power transformer
supplied with the unit might be faulty.
To be sure, change mains 120v plug-in used
My TIC receiver amplifier is powered
but I can’t hear anything?
Screen is lit
No output
The Output device(s) connection cables are
incorrectly connected. Check and secure output
connections to your speakers etc.
The Input device(s) connections to the amplifier are
incorrectly connected. Check and secure input
connections from your music sources.
Choose a suitable sound source using the “Mode”
switch on your TIC receiver amplifier
Most initial problems experienced are simple
connectivity issues. Please try different cable
connections or cables used to your inputs and
outputs at the receiver amplifier
Try the Radio, as its inputs are hardwired, so you
can then concentrate on the output connections first
ensuring they operate correctly before using other
audio input sources
No Sound from the Radio?
Ensure “Mode” switch is set on Radio
Double check and ensure you are tuned to a radio
station you can receive and hear normally
All radios are subject to the reception conditions of
their antenna(s). Check and secure all aerial
connections carefully
There is a rare possibility that the simple starting
aerials supplied with your TIC receiver amplifier may
not be capable of receiving signals in your area
Speakers sound low or distorted
Check connections both to and from the amplifier/
Also try swapping speaker channel connections
Outdoor speakers can suffer from “resistance down
the line” sapping signal power from the amplifier..
Ensure you use a large enough speaker cable
gauge to avoid this. Double insulated 14/2 to 50’ or
12/2 at 50’+ speaker cables are commonly used for
outdoor speakers at these lengths
