Please carefully follow the instructions in this manual to ensure long, trouble-free use of your equipment.
1. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
• Beforeinstallationoruse,besuretocarefullyreadalltheinstructionsinthissectionforcorrectandsafeoperation.
• Besuretofollowallthe precautionaryinstructionsinthissection,whichcontainimportantwarningsand/or cautions
regardingsafety.

the speaker was purchased. Installation for ying
requires extensive technical knowledge and
experience. The speaker may fall off if incorrectly
installed,resultinginpossiblepersonalinjury.
• FlyingPrecautions
Besuretofollowtheinstructionsbelow.Otherwise,
the suspension wires or belts may be off or snap
and the speaker may fall off, causing personal
injury.
· Check to conrm that the suspension wires and
beltsarestrongenoughtowithstandthespeaker
load.
· Theconnectorsofthesuspensionwiresandbelts
mustbesecurelylinkedwiththoseofthespeaker.
· All parts and components (such as enclosures,
metalpieces,andscrews)mustbefreefromany
deformation,crack,andcorrosion.
· Besuretousescrewssuppliedwiththeoptional
yinghardwarewheninstallingthespeakerusing
suchhardware.
• Install the speaker only in a location that can
structurallysupporttheweightofthespeakerand
the mounting bracket. Doing otherwise may result
in the speaker falling down and causing personal
injuryand/orpropertydamage.
• Since thespeakerisdesignedforin-dooruse,do
notinstallitoutdoors.Ifinstalledoutdoors,theaging
of parts causes the speaker to fall off, resulting in
personalinjury.
• Owing to the speaker's size and weight, be sure
that at least two persons are available to install the
speaker. Failure to do so could result in personal
injury.
• Donotuseothermethodsthanspeciedtoinstall
thespeaker.Extremeforceisappliedtothespeaker
and it could fall off, possibly resulting in personal
injuries.
• Use nuts and bolts that are appropriate for the
ceiling'sstructureandcomposition.Failuretodoso
may cause the speaker to fall, resulting in material
damageandpossiblepersonalinjury.
• Tighten each nut and bolt securely. Ensure that
the bracket has no loose joints after installation
to prevent accidents that could result in personal
injury.
• Do not mount the speaker in locations exposed
to constant vibration. The mounting bracket can
be damaged by excessive vibration, potentially
causing the speaker to fall, which could result in
personalinjury.
• Avoid installing the speaker in indoor swimming
facilities that are not well ventilated. In such
locations,themountinghardwaremaybevulnerable
to corrosion, eventually allowing the speaker to fall
resultinginpersonalinjury.
• Avoidtouchingthefrontpunchednet'ssharpmetal
edgetopreventinjury.
• Toavoidelectricshocks,besuretoswitchoffthe
amplier'spowerwhenconnectingthespeaker.
• Donotplaceheavyobjectsonthespeakerasthis
may cause it to fall or break which may result in
personalinjuryand/orpropertydamage.Inaddition,
theobjectitselfmayfalloffandcauseinjuryand/or
damage.
• Do not operate the speaker for an extended
periodoftimewiththesounddistorting.Thisisan
indicationofamalfunction,whichinturncancause
heattogenerateandresultinare.
• Do not stand or sit on, nor hang down from the
speakerasthismaycauseittofalldownordrop,
resultinginpersonalinjuryand/orpropertydamage.
• Havethespeakercheckedperiodicallybytheshop
fromwhereitwaspurchased.Failuretodosomay
resultincorrosionordamagetothespeakerorits
mounting bracketthatcould cause the speakerto
fall,possiblycausingpersonalinjury.
2. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
TheFB-150BandFB-150Warecompact,indoor-usesubwoofersystems,eachemployingahigh-power38cm(15")woofer.
TheyaredesignedforuseinconjunctionwithTOA'sHX-7SeriesSpeakerSystemorotherfullrangespeakers,andare
particularlyidealforreproducingdynamiclow-frequencysound.
TheFB-150BandFB-150WcanbesuspendedbywiresorchainswithuseofanoptionalHY-PF7BorHY-PF7WSpeaker
RiggingFrame.

5. INSTALLATION
TheSubwooferSystemcanbeinstalledonthefloororcanbesuspendedfromaceiling,etc.Whensuspending,usethe
optionalHY-PF7BorHY-PF7WSpeakerRiggingFrame.
4. INPUT CONNECTORS
Forinstallationmethod,refertotheinstructionmanualsuppliedtheHY-PF7BorHY-PF7W.
• Use the suspension wires, chains, and anchor shackles that are
strong enough to withstand the total weight of the speaker and
mountinghardware.
Failuretodosomaycausethespeakertofall,resultinginpersonal
injury.
• Owing to the unit's size and weight, be sure that at least two
personsareavailabletoinstalltheunit.Failuretodosocouldresult
inpersonalinjury.

7. LEVEL BALANCE AND POLARITY
WhenusingtheFB-150seriesinconjunctionwithfullrangespeakers(suchasTOA'sHX-7SeriesSpeakerSystem),adjust
thelevelbalanceandpolarityforeachspeakerindependentlydependingontheinstallationsite.

Increaseordecreasethelevelofthesubwoofer(orfullrangespeaker)asappropriatetothenumberofunitsandinstallation
conditions.
[Polarity adjustment]
• Ifthesubwooferandfullrangespeakersareinphaseintheircrossoverband,thenacousticenergyisadded;however,
acousticenergyissubtractedifthetwoareinreversedphase.Sincethephasecharacteristicsofboththesubwooferand
fullrangespeakerchangecontinuouslydependingonthefrequency,itmaynotbeidealtofollowthesubwoofer'spolarity
instructions when connecting it.
• Comparethedegreetowhichacousticenergyincreasesbyswitchingthepolarityoftheconnectionatthesubwoofer
(from positive to negative and from negative to positive). Choose the way of connection that results in the greatest
increase in acoustic energy. To match the polarity correctly, make actual measurements of acoustic energy using a real
timespectrumanalyzer.

6. EQUALIZING BY DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSOR
When using the FB-150 Series Subwoofer System in combination with the TOA HX-7 Series Speaker System, it is
recommendedthattheTOADigitalSignalProcessor(DSP)beusedtosettherecommendedparameters.
