USAGE
T2+AT68 ¿re pump ³9(1009(1000´are manufactured for use in ¿re ¿ghting op-
erations.
These portable ¿re pumps are intended only for ¿re¿ghting activities in collaboration
with general public ¿re extinguishing eTuipment.
Using it for other applications is regarded as being used for improper purposes.
The manufacturer of this ¿re pump bears no responsibility for any damage that may
result from modi¿cation of the ¿re pump without prior permission from the manufac-
turerimproper use of the ¿re pumpor use of the ¿re pump for applications other
than those stated above.
Note that use of this ¿re pump for applications other than those stated above can
result in personal inMury or damage to the eTuipment.
Using this ¿re pump within the range of intended uses implies that the user should
follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer relevant to operation, servicing
and maintenance.
APPLICATIONS OF THIS FIRE PUMP

Intended people
All persons who operate, service or maintain this ¿re pump must read and under-
stand the following items:
• Owner’s manual
• Safety-related instructions on the pump and the other parts such as the battery.
• The other owner’s manuals, such as battery charger.
The portable pump should be operated by only persons who received training as
operators of ¿re engines along with each country’s region’sregulations.
The range of personal responsibility and supervision must be strictly de¿ned by the
user.
,f a person does not have adeTuate professional Nnowledge reTuired for hisher as-
signment, heshe must undergo relevant training or receive appropriate instructions
from an individual who is actually Nnowledgeable in operation of this ¿re pump.
A person who does not have enough Nnowledge is not permitted to operate this ¿re
pump.
:hen using this ¿re pump, conditions under which an explosion may occur are not
considered.
CAUTION Keep this manual in a safe place for future reference.

evant manuals in order to avoid errors, personal injuries,

gine.
NOTE This manual is an important item that goes with your portable
¿re pump.
This manual should accompany this ¿re pump if sold to another
person.

Before using this ¿re pump, write down the serial number in the following boxes.
This will be useful when you inTuire about servicing, repairs, or genuine parts.

GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION
OvervieZ
Before operating the TO+ATSU ¿re pump thorough-
ly read this manual. Understanding proper operat-
ing procedures including ³'AN*(5´, ³:A5N,N*´,
³CAUT,ON´and ³NOT(´. These notices are de-
signed to bring attention to very important informa-
tion necessary to ensure safe, trouble free opera-
tion.
Warning sign
Meaning
This sign is used for safety-related instructions in
this manual.
Be sure to follow all safety-related instructions, oth-
erwise personal injury may occur.

Safet\-related instructions and Zarning signs

scribed in this manual and all warning signs on the
portable ¿re pump thoroughly.
Always Neep the warning signs in a legible condi-
tion. If any warning sign becomes illegible or de-
tached, replace it immediately.
Transporting the portaEle ¿re pump

When you purchase a new pump, it is placed in
pacNing box and protected.
Storage of pump after transportation
Keep the pump away from high humidity, and place
it on a hori]ontal plane.

mental laws.

Handling of fuel
(xercise care when handling fuel.

Stop the engine before re¿lling fuel.

'o not re¿ll fuel in an enclosed room. 'oing so may
cause an explosion caused by fuel fumes.
If fuel spills, wipe it with a cloth or other material,
and dispose of it according to relevant laws and
regulations.

Safet\devices
Before operating this portable ¿re pump, be sure to
checNthat all the safety devices have been installed
in the appropriate positions.
Before removing the safety devices, turn the main
switch off.
Protective clothing
Protective equipment
'uring ¿re extinguishing training or normal ¿re ¿ght-
ing services, wear normal protective clothing and
eTuipment to protect your body.

Service
Maintenance
Servicing and maintenance of this fire pump must
only be carried out by only the persons who have
professional Nnowledge, who are familiar with the
device, and who understand laws and regulations
regarding safety and accident prevention.
Before starting maintenance worN, turn the main
switch off to stop the engine.
'isconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
Before starting maintenance worN, securely place
the portable ¿re pump on the ground.

Safet\devices
After protective devices such as the mufÀer guard
have been disassembled as part of servicing and
maintenance worN, immediately install them bacNto
their original locations, maNing sure that they are in
safe and secure condition.
ChecNthe portable ¿re pump visually and function-
ally on a regular basis.
If you ¿nd any faulty device or eTuipment, remove
it immediately, and repair or replace it, if necessary.
)ailure to do so may cause an accident.
After it has been repaired or replaced, maNe sure
that it functions correctly.
Electrical equipment
Only expert electricians or trained staff members
should handle electrical eTuipment.
When removing the battery cable from the electrical
eTuipment, always disconnect the negative -cable
¿rst.
When installing the battery cable, be sure to con-
nect the positive cable first before connecting
the negative -.
'o not place any metal on the top of or around the
battery. 'oing so may cause a short circuit.

Use a fuse with the same speci¿cations as the origi-
nal one when replacing it. Using a fuse that has a
greater capacity than the rated value may damage
the eTuipment.
ChecNthe electrical eTuipment of the ¿re pump on
a regular basis.

)ollow any safety-related instructions shown on the
battery.
The battery can generate Àammable hydrogen gas
that may cause an e[plosion.
'o not charge the battery in closed location. 'o not
smoNe around the battery.
The battery electrolyte is caustic and ma\cause
personal injuries.
• Always wear protective clothing.
• Always wear protective gloves.
• Always wear protective glasses.
• 'o not tilt the battery.
'oing so may cause the battery electrolyte to leaN
out from the vent hole.
Disposal
'ispose of disused batteries according to relevant
laws and regulations.

Genuine parts
When replacing parts for servicing and maintenance
of the portable ¿re pump, only use Tohatsu genuine
parts.
If genuine Tohatsu parts and accessories are not
used it may adversely affect the functioning and
safety of the ¿re pump. Use genuine Tohatsu parts
only.
Tohatsu bears no responsibility for any personal
injuries or eTuipment damage that may result from
use of parts or accessories obtained from outside
sources.
Environmental protection measures
'ispose of oil, fuel, batteries, etc. according to rel-
evant environmental laws.
'o not dump waste into the ground, water, or sew-
erage.
Store fuel only in the speci¿ed container.
When disposing of parts, follow the correct disposal
procedure.
Water-prohiEiting suEstance
'o not discharge water to water-prohibited sub-
stance.
Use of Zater
'o not pump combustible liTuids, chemical or caus-
tic liTuids.
