Congratulations on the purchase of your TORLEN TOR-040 Professional
Hair Straightener with Dual Micro Chip Operating System and Tourmaline.
Please read this manual carefully before using this straightener. Your TOR-
040 uses the latest cutting edge technology including your "Dual Micro
Chip Operating System" allowing your iron to heat to the optimum
operating system constantly monitors the iron's temperature and
maintains a stable, constant temperature.
Tourmaline ceramic technology
Unlike conventional irons that use older ceramic technology, TOR-040 uses
advanced Tourmaline Ceramic technology. Tourmaline is a precious stone that is
incredibly gentle on your hair.
Micro porous technology
Locks in hair's natural moisture.
Ion field technology
Seals the cuticle layers of the hair locking in natural oils creating a smooth, shiny
hair surface with reduced frizz.
Infra-red heat
Gently heats the hair internally, protecting the delicate surface structure of the
hair whilst sealing in the hair's natural oil and moisture.
Adjustable temperature
110°C to 230°C
Floating, flexible plates with tourmaline ceramic technology
Provide perfect contact between hair and the iron's plates, ensuring even results.

Directions for use
• Switch on the styler with the power button.
• Adjust to the desired temperature using the plus and minus buttons. The
light next to the temperature will start to flash green, indicating the styler is
heating up.
• When the light shines green continuously this indicates the straightener is
at the desired temperature and ready for use.
• The styler will automatically shut off if not being used and left on for 60 mins.
Selecting the appropriate temperature
This iron has a fully adjustable temperature control ranging from 110°C to 230°C.
Your iron has six pre-set temperature settings 110°C, 160°C, 180°C, 200°C,
220°C, 230°C, however you may select other heat settings within this range. The
adjustable settings allow you to select the temperature that works best for your
individual hair type and condition.
Straightening hair
1) Shampoo and condition hair.
2) Comb hair dry hair thoroughly.
3) Section the hair and begin with a section of hair approximately 2cm
thickness. Tip: The thinner the section of hair the more intensive & longer
lasting the result.
4) Place the iron as close to the roots as possible & slide through to the ends
without stopping. Tip: Don't straighten too quickly, straightening each
section once & slowly will give a far better result than straightening each
section multiple time quickly.
5) Repeat this process until all sections are completed.
Creating curls
1) Shampoo and condition hair.
2) Comb hair dry hair thoroughly.
3) Section the hair and begin with a section of hair approximately 2cm
thickness. Tip: The thinner the section of hair the more intensive & longer
lasting the result.
4) Place the iron as close to the roots as possible & slide through the hair
slowly in a downward motion, simultaneously twisting and turning the iron.
Tip: Don't curl too quickly, curling each section once & slowly will give a far
better result than curling each section multiple time quickly.
In addition to straightening & curling hair you can also create flicks, twists twirls
and much more! And don't forget this iron is perfect for men's styles too!

• Do not use on synthetic or artificial hair.
• Do not use for any other purpose other than its intended use.
• Do not use while bathing.
• Do not immerse in water.
Never switch on the appliance when:
• The appliance or power cord are damaged.
• The appliance has been dropped, shows signs of damage or is not
functioning correctly.
Unplug and switch-off appliance immediately if:
• A fault or malfunction occurs during use.
• You wish to clean the appliance.
• When you have finished using the appliance.
• Keep out of the reach of children.
Protect the power cord from damage by:
• Never pull the plug out of the socket by the cord. Hold by the power plug
when removing from the socket.
• Do not allow cord to come in contact with hot plates of the appliance.
• Do not use appliance near flammable substances.
• Do not place the appliance on any surface that may become damaged
from heat.
• Repairs must only be performed by an authorized Torlen Products repairer.
Risk of burns
• Please take extreme care not to allow the tourmaline ceramic plate or any
other hot surface of the appliance to come in contact with skin or scalp.
• This appliance's intended use is only to be as a hairstyling iron and should
only be used in conjunction with products specifically designed for use with
a hair iron.
• Do not wind the power cable around the iron. This may damage the cable.
• Always allow the iron to cool before storing.
• Use iron only as directed.
• This iron is not designed for use by children or infirmed person unless under
strict supervision.
• To ensure optimum performance of your iron, we suggest you keep the
plates of your iron clean. Do not use any harsh cleaning products or abrasives.
Important: The appliance must be unplugged and cool before cleaning. Clean
with a slightly damp cloth then wipe dry.
Warning: Do not use this appliance near bathtubs, showers, basins or other
vessels containing water. If the supply cord is damaged, the manufacturer, its
service agent or similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard, must replace
it.
Warranty:
This ceramic iron is warranted for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase
against defects in the workmanship or materials. if the TORLEN
PROFESSIONAL iron fails to operate properly within 1 year of time of purchase
and not from the result of any action to void the warranty, it can be taken back to
the place of purchase and will be exchanged at no charge. You may send the iron
with the copy of the Tax Invoice to the address on the front of this user manual and
it will be replaced. The TORLEN PROFESSIONAL hair iron is only under
warranty if purchased from a professional salon/retail or authorized distributor.
The purchase of the TORLEN PROFESSIONAL hair iron will not be guaranteed if
purchased through other outlets including internet. The replacement iron
assumes the original warranty.
Conditions for warranty
1) The unit is returned at your cost to our branch office or authorized
distributor/salon with the Original Tax Invoice and package with warranty card.
2) The unit is used and maintained strictly in accordance with the instructions
provided.
3) The unit is not opened or tempered with by anyone except our authorized
repairers.
The guarantee does not apply to:
1) Damage resulting due to usage of power supply other than specified 110/240
volts AC 50/60 Hz. Eg: inverters, generators etc.
2) Damages resulting from accidents, mishandling or negligence on the part of
the customers and fluctuation in supply voltage.
