THERMOCERAMIC
ELEMENT
CERAMIC FINISH
The straightener contains a special ThermoCeramic
heating element, which ensures it heats up to a very
high temperature in seconds. This high heat is then
maintained throughout use (unlike traditional elements
where heat fluctuates throughout use), to guarantee
straight hair all day.
The ceramic coated plates ensure that the hair cuticle
lies flat once styled. This ensures that your hair reflects
light and therefore appears healthy and shiny. The
ceramic coating also acts as a barrier to protect your
hair from the high temperature reached by the element.
This minimises damage to the cuticle.

SAFETY INFORMATION
When using your hair straightener, basic safety precautions
should always be followed. Please read these instructions
carefully before using the product, and keep them in a safe
place for future reference.
This straightener is of professional standard, and
reaches very high temperatures. Always be careful not
to allow the plates to come into contact with the skin.
Do not leave the plates in contact with the hair for
more than a few seconds. The straightener reaches
very high temperatures, so there is no need to leave the
hair between the plates for longer than a few seconds.
This will avoid unnecessary damage to the hair cuticle.
Use the appliance for its intended use only.
To protect against the risk of electric shock, do not
immerse the appliance in water or any other liquids.
It is recommended that this appliance should not be
used by children.
Always unplug your appliance when it is not in use.
Do not leave the straightener switched on while
unattended.
Do not use this appliance near bath tubs, showers,
basins or other vessels containing water.
In the event of cable damage, do not attempt to
replace the mains cable – return to Morphy Richards.
After use, do not store until the product has cooled
down.
Do not place the straightener on surfaces likely to be
damaged by the heat.
Ensure your hair is completely dry before you begin
straightening. Applying high temperatures to damp or
wet hair will increase the probability of hair breaking
or becoming permanently damaged.
Try and use your straightener for as short a time as
possible – prolonged use can cause unneccessary
damage to your hair.
HOW TO USE
YOUR STRAIGHTENER
To turn your straightener on, press and hold the on/off
switch. Your straightener is set to switch on at the
minimum temperature of 100˚C. You can use the +/–
buttons to find the best temperature for you. Start with
a setting that is considerably lower than you would
expect your hair needs. Take a test strand and start low
120-130˚C for fine hair, or 160-170˚C for thick hair,
this way as you build up in temperature you will find
the minimum temperature your hair needs for low
maintenance and low damage styling. Two strokes
should be all you need, if you have to do more than
this, try a higher setting on a new strand of hair. Using
the ‘two stroke’ rule as a guide you will be able to find
a heat setting that really suits your hair type and
minimises damage.
Once the straightener has reached a temperature
suitable for use, the ready symbol will appear on
the display.
! Ensure your hair is thoroughly dry before you begin
styling – this will avoid damage to the hair.
Divide your hair into sections, brushing each
section thoroughly.
Clamp a section of the hair between the straightening
plates, as close to the roots as possible. Gently slide
the straightener down your hair shaft to the ends. For
more difficult sections of hair, you may need to repeat
this. Avoid leaving your hair clamped inside the
straightener for more than a few seconds, as this could
cause unnecessary damage to the cuticle.
To create movement in the hair, use your wrist to
shape the ends either inwards our outwards depending
on the style you wish to achieve.
Repeat on all sections of the hair.
Clean your straightener regularly for best results.
Always do this when the straightener is switched off
and has cooled down.
Your straightener features an auto shut off that will
shut down your straighteners if the on/off or up/down
buttons are left untouched for longer than 45 minutes.
WIRING
The product is fitted with a 13A (BS1363) plug. A 3A fuse
(BS1362) must be used. Check the voltage on the rating
plate of your appliance corresponds with your house
electricity supply which must be AC (Alternating Current).
If the socket outlets in your home are not suitable for the
plug supplied with this appliance the plug should be
removed and an appropriate one fitted.
IMPORTANT: THE PLUG, REMOVED FROM THE MAINS
LEAD, IF SEVERED, MUST BE DESTROYED AS A PLUG
WITH BARED FLEXIBLE CORD IS HAZARDOUS IF
ENGAGED INTO A LIVE SOCKET OUTLET.
MAINS LEAD
As a safety precaution and to prolong the life of your
appliance, do not wrap the mains lead around the
appliance as this will cause damage.
CLEANING
Over time, you will find a natural build up on your
straightening plates. This can be caused by natural oils in
your hair and styling products and lotions. At the first sign
of build up, you should clean your straightening plates.
To do this, always switch your straighteners off and wait
for them to cool down. Wipe with a damp cloth, or a
non abrasive cleaning wipe. Failure to do this, may mean
the build up becomes burnt onto the straightening plates
and they will become difficult to clean. If your
straightening plates do become discoloured, it will
NOT affect their performance.
