>> HDD/DVD-R/-RW Recorder - Toshiba DVD recorders are designed
to provide the greatest flexibility in recording and playback by
supporting DVD-R and DVD-RW recordable disc formats. The right
format for every application:
- DVD-R is a write-once format perfect for sharing treasured video
moments with virtually anyone who has a DVD-Video player.
- DVD-RW is a rewritable format compatible with many of today's
DVD-Video players and computer drives and can be rewritten up to
1000 times.
Additionally, the unit comes with a built-in 160 Gigabyte TiVo®
Series2™ hard disc drive. Recording shows on an HDD has several
advantages over recording on traditional videotape including
improved picture and audio quality, instant access to audio and
video content, extended recording time, and no rewinding.
>> TiVo®Basic™ Service Included - Easy recording from a 3 day
on-screen program guide and TiVo®channel banner with program
description. The unit also offers manual recording capability
including scheduling, repeating, recording of specific time and
channel slot via the on-screen user interface. Enjoy on-screen
display of content with program name, rating, station identifier, and
time and date.
>> ColorStream Pro®Component Video Outputs - These outputs
allow the highest quality video signal to be sent from the DVD
player unit to a component video equipped progressive scan TV.
When this connection is utilized with today's HD-compatible sets,
typical NTSC artifacts-like video noise, dot crawl, and flicker-are
virtually eliminated, resulting in a low-noise, highly detailed picture
with unequaled color purity.
>> Digital Cinema Progressive (3/2 Pulldown) - Delivers the
smoothest, most film-like images to any progressive scan television,
such as an HD-compatible one, and ensures maximum resolution.
AUDIO
>> WMA & MP3 Playback - Recorded Compact Discs (CD-R &
CD-RW) with music stored in either the Windows Media™ Audio or
MP3 file formats can be enjoyed.
CONVENIENCE
>> TV Trick Play Features (Pause Live TV, Rewind, Instant Replay) -
This feature allows the user to begin watching a recording that is
already in progress and pause live TV.
>> Front Panel A/V & IEEE1394DV Inputs - There are composite
video inputs as well as RCA L/R inputs on the front panel
of the unit for easy camcorder dubbing. Additionally, an IEEE1394
Firewire jack is also available on the front panel for interfacing
compatible digital video camcorders. Provides recognition
of the device and on-screen menu controls to easily direct the
"downloading" process.
>> IR Blaster for Cable and DBS Box Control - This handy cable
can connect to the back of the recorder and transmits an infrared
(IR) signal to change channels on your cable or satellite box. Allows
no-hassle recordings from these two sources without the need to
make channel selection ahead of time.
