For PolyVision Walk-and-TalkTM Models
The ProMount* Model PB3-13 mounting bracket allows mounting of a PolyVision interactive
white board (IWB) at the manufacturer recommended height, when mounting over an existing white
or black board, regardless of the height of the existing chalk tray. In addition, the ProMount preserves
the nish of the existing surface by eliminating the need to drill holes in the existing board.
In the past, when mounting an IWB over an existing white board, the IWB had to usually be
located much higher than the manufacturer suggests, due to the existing white /or black board chalk
tray getting in the way of the IWB pen tray or board. The only other alternative has been to attach
the IWB mounting brackets through the existing white board by drilling holes into the upper surface of
the existing board and attaching the brackets. The existing chalk tray has to be cut off, so it doesn’t
interfere with the lower part of the IWB. This method makes a mess, takes valuable install time
and compromises the surface and tray of the existing white board - a real problem if the IWB is later
moved to another wall.
Until now, there were no easy solutions to this problem. The white board had to either be
compromised, or taken down - most times these boards are put up with adhesive, which requires
extensive wall repair when removed.
Now with the ProMount, there is an inexpensive way to place a PolyVision Board over an
existing board at the recommended height, and without damage to the underlying board!

Step 1. Assemble Mounting Bracket as shown to right (g.2) using the ¾” 10-24 screws and
nuts (2 on each support bracket). Make sure to add the safety strap between the ProMount and the
PolyVision wall bracket. Select holes dependent on desired height of board remembering that the as-
sembled bracket attaches to the wall just above the existing whiteboard. Attach bracket to wall using
appropriate hardware for the wall type and overall weight.

Step 2. Attach Mounting Bracket to wall using appropriate fasteners – (g. 3). For drywall
installs, use either the included toggle bolts or similar hardware shipped with the board. Refer to the
PolyVision installation guide for proper spacing of the wall brackets so they line up with the board
supports. Adjust the rubber foot of each ProMount such that the bracket lies parallel with the
existing board surface.

Step 3. Attach the PolyVision lower bracket to the base clip(s) as shown (g. 4) – one for the
16XX and 14XX models, and two for the 18XX. Use 2 of the included 2” 10-24 screws and nuts. The
3 nuts provide for horizontal adjustment for the PolyVision bracket to meet the stand-off distance
from the existing chalk tray. Refer to the PolyVision install guide for exact placement of the lower clip
relative to the upper clips. Position and attach this bracket by either bolting to the chalk tray (use the
1 ¼” 10-24 screw and nut), if the height lines up just above or below it, or simply use the included
Velcro to attach the lower base clip(s) to the wall or whiteboard. In the case of the lower base clip
lining up directly on the chalk tray, skip installation of this base clip altogether and simply Velcro the
board directly to the edge of the chalk tray.

Step 4. With the help of an assistant, lift the PolyVision board and hang it on the wall brackets. Slide
the board carefully to align the top safety straps with the holes in the top of the whiteboard. Make the
nal electrical connections for the board, align the projector image on the board and you are nished.
The space behind the PolyVision board makes a great place to hide excess cables, so nished cable
management on the new short throw projectors is much easier and neater– see Fig.5 below.
