PRODUCT OVERVIEW / INTENDED USE: The TOWA Industries PDM model PDM -20-8 is a standalon e
power management appliance that allows up to 8 low power ac charge systems (120V/16A or less) to
be charged off a single 120V/20A circuit. The unit comes fully operational with no system software
configuration required. Once installed connect up to 8 battery powered lawn or shop power
equipment devices for recharging. The load recognition software within the PDM will immediately
sense and balance overall demand to keep peak circuit load to less than 16A even with multiple power
charge units connected at the same time to the unit.
The system is most applicab le to commercial environments where mu ltiple charge units will require
charging, for example at shift change or end of day plug in (i.e.: commercial landscaping, multiple
walkie-talkie stations, or charge stations for shop or commercial cleaning equipment). With the PDM
unit, utilize the onboard load sensing technology to automatically switch power from charged units to
units needing power rather than having to monitor and man ually plug in and unplug units as they
charge during off usage time. Install the unit convenient to your power equipment charge racks to
reduce these n uisance operations while dramatically reducing the circuit requirements to charge all
your power equipment with minimal oversight.

Input requirements: 120V/20A outlet, compatible with 20R receptacle.

INSTALLATION AND SETUP:
1. Select a convenient location in your shop or commercial space to localize charging for your battery power
equipment (120V/ 20A max load demand for each of your items needing charging). For every 8 items to be
charged ensure you have (1) PDM-20 unit and (2) a 15/20R outlet.
2. Connect unit to power, plugging in the NEMA 5-20P/C19 power cord to the input connector (see below)
3. Watch for operational LEDs to light up once 1-8 on the front panel to complete their initiation sequence to
demonstrate operational unit status.
4. Once complete, start plugging in charge units to the output receptacles 1-8 on the reverse face as needed.
5. The software controls within the unit will automatically sweep available loads and determine the optimal
configuration of open/closed outlets to keep total demand under 16A. As units become fully charged the
software will automatically re-balance the configuration of open and closed outlets to keep overall demand
within the limit of the socket powering the unit.
