ASSEMBLY, OPERATION, PREVENTITIVE MAINTENANCE
1. FEATURES
Tested to Australian Standard AS1418.8, this Tradequip hydraulic en ine crane has a 8
tonne lon stroke liftin ram and double actin pump with a maximum safe workin load
capacity of 1000k . It is desi ned to quickly fold up to save space in the workshop. It is
very simple to use with a sin le actin hydraulic pump equipped and an automatic safety
valve to control the lowerin speed.
The jib extends to required liftin capacities of 250k , 500k , 750k or 1000k secured by
a sin le lockin pin. Mounted on 6 swivel castor wheels for excellent manoeuvrability
around the workshop, the liftin ran e is 0-2300mm so an en ine can be lifted clear out
of the en ine bay with little effort. With reat stability of its wide le s, this crane can also
be used to lift machines or other heavy items, makin for an excellent piece of equipment
for the workshop or warehouse.
2. ASSEMBLY
Ensure assembly is done on a flat, level surface to prevent misali nment.
St p 1:
•Fasten the two lar er rear castor wheels (9) on the Base structure with Bolts
(21), washers (30) and nuts 31). Face bolts up when installin .
•Fasten the smaller two castor wheels (10) on the Base structure with bolts (22),
washers (24). Face bolts up when installin .

•Fasten the remainin lar er two castor wheels (9) on the front le s (4) with
bolts (21), washers (30) and nuts (31).

•Slide the le s (4) into the front of the base (1).

•Fasten the uide plates (6) to the base frame (1) and front le s (4) with bolts
(14), washers (24), and nuts (23). Lift one side of the base to ali n the hole on
the frame to the hole on each front le (4), then insert the rin pins (5) into the
hole, and insert the cotter pin (7) into the hole of the rin pin.

•Use two bolts (19), washers (26) and nuts (25) to connect the bottom of the
post (3) to the base frame (1).

•Use two bolts (14), washers (24) and nuts (23) to connect the lower ends of the
supports (6) to the inside of the base (1). Then use bolts (16), washers (24) and
nuts (23) to connect the top ends of the supports to the post (3). Check to
make sure the nuts are ti htened. Ti hten all nuts.

•Use bolts (15), washers (24) and nut (23) to attach the boom (2) to the top of
the post (3). Ti hten nut (3) so that the boom (2) can rotate freely, do not over-
ti hten as boom needs to be able to rotate freely.

•Use bolts (17), washers (24) and nut (23) to fasten the lower end of the lon
ram (11) to the post (3). Then bolt (18), washer (24) and nut (23) to fasten the
top of the lon ram to the boom (2).

•Slide the boom extension (4) into boom (2) and use bolt (18), washer (24) and
nut (23) to s cur at th d sir d load rating. Use bolt (20), washer (28) and nut
(27) to attach the hook and chain (8) to the end of the boom extension.
The boom has four different load ratings; select desired rating before use.

3. BEFORE USE
Prior to each use conduct a visual inspection by checkin for abnormal conditions, such as
cracked joints and dama ed, loose, or missin parts.
•Durin transport it is possible that air has become trapped in the hydraulic
system, causin poor liftin performance. Pur e any air from the system by
fully openin the release valve (turn handle counter clock-wise as shown), then
while holdin the boom down, operate pump handle rapidly several times.
•Ensure all nuts and bolts are correctly fitted and ti ht.
4. OPERATION
To Rais : Close the release valve by turnin the handle clock-wise to a secure
position. Do not over ti hten.
To Low r: Open the release valve by turnin the handle counter clock-wise very
slowly. The speed of lowerin the load is controlled by how much you turn
the handle.
To Add Oil: Only use hi h quality Hydraulic Oil. Do not use brake fluid, alcohol,
lycerine, deter ent motor oil. When addin oil ensure dirt or forei n
matter does not enter the system.
NOTE: ONLY USE GOOD QUALITY HYDRAULIC JACK OIL.

5. STORAGE
This foldable en ine crane should always be stored under cover in a dry location and on a
level surface with the jib in the fully low r d position.
Not : Before raisin the le s to the stora e position ensure Bolt (6), and Nut (7) is
inserted into the base support and ti htened to ensure the unit is stable and won't fall
over.
6. MAINTENANCE
Replace or repair dama ed parts. Use recommended Tradequip enuine parts only. Non
authorised parts may be dan erous and will invalidate the warranty.
•Check ram and plun er every 3 months for any si ns of corrosion.
•Clean as needed with a clean damp cloth.
7. SERVICE & REPAIR
Any Foldable en ine crane found dama ed in any way, or found to be worn or operates
abnormally should be removed from service until repaired by an authorised service a ent.
Owners and / or operators should be aware that repair of this product may require
specialised equipment and knowled e. Only authorised parts, labels and decals shall be
used on this equipment. Annual inspection of the hydraulic lift is recommended and can
be made by an authorised repair facility to ensure that your equipment is in optimum
condition and that the equipment has the correct decals and safety labels specified by the
manufacturer.
