1. Save all Journal Records to a USB device.
2. Power o the ATM via the on-screen soware program. Management Functions > System Parameters > Shut
Down Terminal.
3. Wait for the screen prompt.
4. Open the rear control panel.
5. On the power supply, pressthepowerswitchtotheOFF(0)position to power o the ATM.
6. Locate the empty modem shelf above the fan.
7. Obtain the modem from the kit. Align the slots on the back of the modem with pins on the shelf. Slide the
modem onto the shelf until it clicks to the pins.

8. Obtain the USB Printer Cable from the kit. Plug the Right-Angle B connector into the le side of modem
port marked USB.
9. Route the cable under the fan and connect the USB connector to the mainboard’s port labeled MDM.
10. Open the cable hanger clip and insert the USB cable. Close the cable hanger over the cables as shown.

11. Obtain the Phone Cable from the kit. Plug one end of the cable into the modem port labeled LINE IN.
12. Route the phone line behind the modem and down the le side of the display as shown.
**Note**
For a Drive-Up ATM with a deep cabinet, continue to step 17. For a Drive-Up Unit with a shallow cabinet, con-
tinue to step 22. For the Walk-Up ATM, continue to step 13.
13. For the Walk-Up ATM, route the phone cable through the two clips shown in the le image. Place the re-
maining cable into the opening of the bottom cabinet shown in the right image.

14. Remove the dispenser to access the four clips. Clip the Phone cable through the four clips with the Ethernet
and/or Camera cables.
15. Obtain the Ferrite from the kit. Attach the Ferrite to the phone cable as shown.
16. If routing to the opposite side of cabinet, insert the cable into the two clips on the back wall. Route the phone
cable through the opening at the bottom corner of the ATM. Connect the cable to the wall phone port.
17. For the Drive-Up ATM with the deep cabinet, route the cable through the two clips as shown in the le im-
age and the third clip in the right image.

18. Route the remaining cable into the opening of the plug box and towards the back of the cabinet.
19. Remove the dispenser to access the four clips. Clip the Phone cable through the four clips with the Ethernet
and/or Camera cables.
20. Obtain the Ferrite from the kit. Attach the Ferrite to the phone cable as shown.
21. If routing to the opposite side of cabinet, insert the cable into the two clips on the back wall. Route the phone
cable through the opening at the bottom corner of the ATM. Connect the cable to the wall phone port.
22. For the Drive-Up ATM with the shallow cabinet, route the cable through the two clips shown in the le im-
age.

23. Route the remaining phone cable into the opening of the bottom cabinet shown in the right image.
24. Remove the dispenser to access the four clips. Clip the Phone cable through the four clips with the Ethernet
and/or Camera cables.
25. Obtain the Ferrite from the kit. Attach the Ferrite to the phone cable as shown.
26. If routing to the opposite side of cabinet, insert the cable into the two clips on the back wall. Route the phone
cable through the opening at the bottom corner of the ATM. Connect the cable to the wall phone port.

1. On the power supply, pressthepowerswitchtotheON(1)position to power up the ATM.
2. Log into the Management Functions program. Navigate to Management Functions > Terminal Conguration >
Communication > Protocol.
**Note**
e host processor will provide the information for the following options on the Communication menu.
3. Select Protocol. is option selects the communication protocol and your host processor’s requirement the
terminal will use, dial-up, TCP/IP, wireless, or other forms of communications.
4. Use the Up or Down button to highlight either TDL or TDL w/o EOT. Press the Select button to check the box.
Press the Save and Return button.
5. Select Message Format. is option species the content and structure of the message that passes between the
terminal and the host processor during a transaction.
6. Use the Up or Down button to highlight TDL. Press the Select button to check the box. Press the Save and
Return button.

7. Select Primary Phone Number. e ATM uses this telephone number to contact the host processor for trans-
action requests.
8. Press the Change Keyboard Style button to select the on-screen alphanumeric, qwerty, or numeric keyboard.
e Le and Right buttons moves the cursor one position per each click. e Backspace button deletes the
character to the le of the cursor. Enter a valid primary phone number. Press the Enter and Return button.
9. Select Backup Phone Number. e ATM uses this telephone number to contact the host processor for transac-
tion requests, if the primary phone number does not connect.
10. Press the Change Keyboard Style button to select the on-screen alphanumeric, qwerty, or numeric keyboard.
e Le and Right buttons moves the cursor one position per each click. e Backspace button deletes the
character to the le of the cursor. Enter a valid backup phone number. Press the Enter and Return button.

11. Select Predial. is option allows the terminal to dial out to the host processor and establish a connection as
soon as the customer swipes their card.
12. Select Enable Communication Header, if the host processor needs additional header data. Use option 7 to add
the transaction string. Only certain host processors require the communication header.

**Note**
e Communication Header data is case sensitive.
13. Select Communication Header. Press the Change Keyboard Style button to select the on-screen alphanumer-
ic, qwerty, or numeric keyboard. Enter the header data characters provided by the host processor. Press the
Enter and Return button.
14. Press the Save and Return button. Press the Back button to navigate to the top menu. Continue to the next
section, Modem Testing.

1. Navigate to Management Functions > Diagnostics > Modem/Ethernet > Test. is function tests the modem by
dialing the number entered in the dialog box. A status report displays the progress and results of the operation.
2. Press the Change Keyboard Style button to select the on-screen alphanumeric, qwerty, or numeric keyboard.
e Le and Right buttons moves the cursor one position per each click. e Backspace button deletes the
character to the le of the cursor.
3. Enter a valid phone number. Press the Enter and Return button.

4. If the screen displays “Disconnect complete”, le image below, press the Back button. is Test is successful.
5. If the screen displays “Connection failed: Unknown”, right image below, press the Back button.
6. Select Test. Verify the correct phone number provided by the Host processor and re-enter the phone number.
Press the Enter and Return button.
7. If the error message, “Connection failed: Unknown”, persists, contact Triton Technical Support.
