LOCKS
Door Ircks
Either door may belockedfrom inside or outsideirrespective
of which door was last usedas an exit. The rlechanism auto-
matically prevents the inside handle being set in the locked
position whilst the door is open. This eliminatesthe possibility
of being locked out of the car in the event of the key being
inadvertently left inside,
Intedor Locking
To lock thedoor it mustbeclosedfirst. Only thenwill the
mechanismpermittheinsidehandleto bemoved
forwards,The
handlewill automaticallyrgturnto thenormalposition assoon
asit is released.
IMPORTANT, Do not attemDtto forcethe handleinto the
lockedpositionwhilst thedoor is open.
Exterior Locking
When leaving the car, move the door handle forward and
leavethe vehicleby the other door, which may then belockedby
usingthe key asfollows :-
Insert the key in thelock and turn it approximately a quarter
turn towards the shut-face. The kev will automaticallv return
to rheuprightposirion
from whereii ma1bewithdrawn.
When the doors are locked, pressureon the outside push
buttons, which may be fully depressed,cannot force or damage
the lock.

To Unlock
Re-enter from eitier door by inserting the key in the lock
and tuming it approximately a quarter turn away from the
shut-face. The keywill againautomaticaUy
return to theupright
positionto enableit to beremoved.
Lubrication
It will be beneficial, particr. arly during freezing weather,to
inhoduce a faw drops of thin machineoil into the latch slot and
thelock keyslotsat inteNalsof not more than once
a month.
