1 Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of the Trust 100MB Speedshare PCI Card. The
Trust 100MB Speedshare PCI card allows you to connect your PC to a Local Access
Network (LAN) and/or broadband internet connection
2 Safety
Please read the following directions before first use.
1. Always disconnect the power supply and remove the power supply cable
before opening your computer and installing any device.
2. Never attempt the repair the product yourself. All repairs should be done by a
qualified individual.
This product conforms to relevant European directives and standards. The
Declaration of Conformity (DoC) can be found at www.trust.com/13512/ce.
3 Installation
1. Ensure that your PC is turned off and the power supply cable has been
unplugged.
2. Remove your PC cover.
3. Firmly insert the Card into a free PCI slot on the motherboard.
4. Install a bracket screw securing the card to your PC case.
5. Replace your PC cover
6. Reconnect the power supply cable and start your PC.
Note: Do not try to insert a standard telephone cable into the RJ-45 port as this may
damage your Trust 100MB Speedshare PCI Card.
4 Driver Installation
Please ensure that you follow the correct instructions for your version of Windows.
The procedure is not the same for each Windows version.

Windows 98 CD-ROM \driver\Win98
Windows ME CD-ROM \driver\WinMe
Windows 2000 Automatic Detection
Windows XP Automatic Detection

4.1 Windows 98
1. Turn on your computer.

2. Windows 98 will automatically detect the presence of the adapter; the “New
Hardware Wizard” box will appear.
3. Insert the driver CD in your CD-ROM drive and click next in the Hardware
Wizard Box.
4. Select Search for the best driver for your device (recommended) and
click Next
5. Select “Specify a Location” select the correct path D:\Driver\Win98
(assuming your CD-ROM is drive D: ) click Next.
6. Windows 98 will open a window saying that Windows is now ready to install
the driver, click Next.
7. Then click Finish.
8. After Windows 98 successfully installs the driver you will be prompted to
restart your computer. Please make sure you remove the CD from the CD-
ROM drive and click “Yes”
4.1.1 Verifying Windows 98 Installation
1. After restarting your computer right-click on My Computer icon, select
Properties, and then click Device Manager.
2. Select Network adapters in the Device Manager list.
3. If a yellow exclamation mark or a red X is showing next to the network
adapter device the driver needs to be reinstalled, see 4.1.
4. Locate the Trust 100MB Speedshare PCI Card in the hardware list and right
click, select properties.
5. In the General tab you should see “This Device is working properly.” in the
Device Status box.
4.1.2 Windows 98 Configuration
1. From the windows desktop select the Start button and then open the
Control Panel and select the Network icon.
2. In the Network window select the Configuration tab.
3. It is recommended that you select TCP/IP.
4. Select the File and Print Sharing button.
5. To allow other computers on your network to have access to your files and to
print from your printer you must select the two options in the File and Print
Sharing window.
6. Then click OK.
4.2 Windows ME
1. Ensure your Trust 100MB Speedshare PCI Card is connected to the host
computer.
2. Turn on your computer
3. Windows ME will automatically detect the presence of the adapter; a “New
Hardware Wizard” box will appear.
4. Insert the driver CD in your CD-ROM drive and click next in the Hardware
Wizard Box.

5. Select Specify the location of the driver (Advanced) and click Next.
6. Select Search for the best driver for your device (recommended), select
the correct path D:\Driver\WinME (assuming your CD-ROM drive is drive D: )
and click Next.
7. Windows ME will open a window saying that Windows is now ready to install
the driver, click Next.
8. Then click Finish.
9. After Windows ME successfully installs the driver you will be prompted to
restart your computer. Please make sure you remove the CD from the CD-
ROM drive and click “Yes”
4.2.1 Verifying Windows ME Installation
1. After restarting your computer right-click on My Computer icon, select
Properties, and then click Device Manager.
2. Select Network adapters in the Device Manager list.

adapter device the driver needs to be reinstalled, see 4.2..
4. Locate the Trust 100MB Speedshare PCI Card in the hardware list and right
click, select properties.
5. In the General tab you should see “This Device is working properly.” in the
Device Status box.
4.2.2 Windows ME Configuration
1. From the windows desktop select the Start button and then open the Control
Panel and select the Network icon.
2. In the Network window select the Configuration tab.
3. It is recommended that you select TCP/IP
4. Select the File and Print Sharing button.

4.3 Windows 2000
1. Ensure your Trust 100MB Speedshare PCI Card is connected to the host

100MB Speedshare PCI Card.
4.3.1 Verifying Windows 2000 Installation
1. After restarting your computer right-click on My Computer icon, select
Properties, and then click Device Manager.
2. Select Network adapters in the Device Manager list.

3. If a yellow exclamation mark or a red X is showing next to the network
adapter device the driver needs to be reinstalled, see 4.3.
4. Locate the Trust 100MB Speedshare PCI Card in the hardware list, right
click, and select properties.
5. In the General tab you should see “This Device is working properly.” in the
Device Status box.
4.3.2 Windows 2000 Configuration
1. From the windows desktop select the Start button and then open the Control
Panel and select the Network icon.
2. Right Click on Local Area Connection and select properties.
3. In the Network window select the General tab.
4. It is recommended that you select TCP/IP.
5. Then click OK.
4.4 Windows XP
1. Ensure your Trust 100MB Speedshare PCI Card is connected to the host
computer.
2. Turn on your computer
3. Windows XP will automatically install the necessary driver for your Trust
100MB Speedshare PCI Card.
4.4.1 Verifying Windows XP Installation
1. After restarting your computer select start then Control Panel the System.
2. Select the Hardware tab and then Device Manager.
3. Select Network adapters in the Device Manager list.
4. If a yellow exclamation mark or a red X is showing next to the network
adapter device the driver needs to be reinstalled, see 4.4.
5. Locate the Trust 100MB Speedshare PCI Card in the hardware list and right
click, select properties.
6. In the General tab you should see “This Device is working properly.” in the
Device Status box.
4.4.2 Windows XP Configuration
1. From the windows desktop select the Start button and then open the Control
Panel and select the Network icon.
2. Right Click on Local Area Connection and select properties.
3. In the Network window select the General tab.
4. It is recommended that you select TCP/IP
5. Then click OK.

5 TCP/IP Setup
In most cases The TCP/IP setting will be set at “Obtain an IP address
automatically” in some situations you will need to set the IP address manually.
5.1 Windows 98/ME
To change the IP settings please follow:
1. Click Start then select Settings and then choose Control Panel.
2. Double click the Network icon.
3. Select the Configuration tab.
4. Locate the “TCP/IP” option for your network adapter and double click it.
5. Select the “Use the following IP address” option.
6. Now enter your new IP address, Subnet mask and Default gateway values.
7. Close all the Windows.
8. Restart your PC.
5.2 Windows 2000/XP
To change the IP settings please follow:
1. Click Start then select Settings and then choose Control Panel.
2. Double click the Network icon.
3. Right click the” Local Area Connection” icon and select properties.
4. Locate the “TCP/IP” option for your network adapter and double click it.
5. Select the “Use the following IP address” option.
6. Now enter your new IP address, Subnet mask and Default gateway values.
7. Close all the Windows.
8. Restart your PC.

6 Troubleshooting
Problem Cause Possible solution
No network
communication.
The Ethernet cable is not
correctly inserted in the
adapter.
Ensure the Ethernet cable
is inserted properly into
the adapter, if this does
not work replace the
Ethernet cable.
Windows does not
detect new hardware.
Incorrect adapter
installation.
Ensure that the adapter is
firmly installed in the host
computer.
Windows does not
detect new hardware.
Windows cannot locate
the driver.
Ensure you are using the
correct diskette or the
diskette might be
defective or check to
make sure that you are
using the correct driver on
the diskette.
Driver conflict/problem. Uninstall driver and
reinstall.
Possible IRQ conflict. If two or more devices are
sharing an interrupt (IRQ)
you might need to remove
these devices physically
i.e. PCI cards and
rearrange them so the
motherboard assigns a
new IRQ to each device.
Disabling older I/O
devices that you are not
using will free up IRQs for
other devices.

8 Warranty Information
•TRUST guarantees its products against any defect in material and
workmanship, for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase.
•In the event a product is found to be defective within the warranty period,
please return the product to the dealer. Make sure to include a description of
the problem, proof of purchase and all accessories.
•During the warranty period the dealer will exchange the defective product for a
comparable product if available. If a comparable product is not available the
defective product will be repaired.
