QUICK START GUIDE
INSTALLING THE NETRONIX™ THIAMIS™
GSM/GPS COMMUNICATION MODEM IN
THE ENVIRONMENTAL ENCLOSURE
MODEL 8537
This guide will help you quickly install the Netronix™
Thiamis™ GSM/GPS Communication Modem in the
Environmental Enclosure Model 8537.
Unpacking Netronix Thiamis
GSM/GPS Communication
Modem (801900)
1. Unpack Netronix Thiamis GSM/GPS Communication
Modem (801900) and verify that all items listed in
the following table are present
2. Contact TSI immediately if items are missing or
broken.

Installing Netronix Thiamis
GSM/GPS Communication
Modem (801900)
1. Using a 1/8” Allen wrench and button head hex
screws attach Thiamis unit as shown.

2. Attach power cable as shown (power cable Inline
fuse holder not shown).
3. Attach RS232 to USB converter cable to Thiamis
unit and route cable behind back plate then install
cable guard with thumbscrews.
4. Using a 7/64” Allen wrench, screw, zip tie, spacer,
and nut provided in the 8537 enclosure attach USB
end of the RS232 to USB converter cable to shelf as
shown.
5. Remove slip nut from GSM-GPS antenna.
6. Attach GSM-GPS Antenna as shown. If you
purchased a heat shield skip to step 8.
7. Fasten GSM-GPS Antenna to enclosure using slip
nut. Also route GSM and GPS cables behind back
panel and connect to Thiamis unit as shown. Skip to
step 10 if you did not purchase a heat shield.

8. Attach GSM-GPS Antenna onto antenna post as
shown.
9. Route GSM and GPS cables behind back panel and
connect to Thiamis unit as shown.
10. Place DustTrak™aerosol monitor on shelf and use
Velcro strap to secure instrument to shelf. Lastly,
connect USB to RS232 converter cable to
DustTrak monitor.
