be carefully read and observed by all persons involved in assembly, start-up, operation, maintenance
and servicing.
Please observe the following safety information on the device and in the documentation.
Warning: Safety information aiming to avoid risks to persons and property!
For your own safety, read this information very carefully!
Warning: Risk posed by electrical voltage!
Risk of electric shock.Avoid contact!
Caution: Risk posed by static charge!
The electrical circuit board can be destroyed. Remove static charge by touching an earthed object!
Note: Observe information and tips!
All product information is to be kept for the entire service life of the air curtain device!
WARNING HAZARD
Air curtain devices contain dangerous, voltage-carrying exposed parts and/or moving or rotating
parts. These can cause very serious personal or material damage in case of misuse, replacing of
covers or inappropriate maintenance. Do never open the covers during operation! Do always cut
off the power supply before opening and switch off repair switch!
Assembly, disassembly, start-up, repair and changes of and to the air curtain system must only be

Original replacement parts and accessories approved by the manufacturer are designed for safety.
When using other parts or in the event of failure to observe the TTL documentation, we decline
all liability.
In the event of any ambiguities regarding technology, handling or use, we expressly recommend
checking with the manufacturer or his representative, citing the model designation.
Switching off the air curtain system(s) using the OFF key (0) at the UBT plus control and automation panel
does not automatically interrupt the mains power supply. Electrical equipment in the air curtain system and
in the control panel as well as the mains and connection lines may still be energised. The complete electri-
cal disconnection of the air curtain system(s) from the mains takes place exclusively via the repair switch
provided by the customer!

5.Application possibilities - basics
The control and automation panel TTL -UBT plus is an universal electronic operators panel for comfortable
switching and control of TTL air curtain devices of all types and construction lengths.
The used CAN bus technology affords the possibility to connect several units. Single units or groups of units
can be adressed by coding. Sutchlike units of a group will be controlled equal and operates at the same ope-
rating stage or power level. The behaviour in dependency of a door contact and/or a room thermostat and
possibilities of enable of each of the units in this group are separately settlable.
In compare to similar step switches TTL -UBT plus offers enlarged functions concerning:
FRQWURORIDLUEORZRXWWHPSHUDWXUHÁXLGÁRZFRQWUROOHU
FRQWURORIDLUYROXPHÁRZIDQSHUIRUPDQFHFRQWUROOHU
• functions for WINTER mode resp. for SUMMER mode
• detection of the actually outside temperatues for blow-out temperature reduction control
for operation with active guided decreased air outlet temperature
• timer operating with switching times in a weekly programm
• menu display and menu guidance
• groupings of units
• programming of basic functions, like programmings of enable, for restart after frost alert triggering
DQGIRUVSHFLÀFVZLWFKLQJIXQFWLRQV
• key lock with programmable functions
The TTL -UBTplus control and automation panel is designed for controlling and monitoring of air curtain sys-

ble for fans with EC motors) or selection of a operating stage 1 - 5 (AC motors).

for safety reasons.

lers operation with a switchover to the MANUAL mode.
The automatic contacts for a perhaps connected door contact and/or room thermostat keeps furthermore
inactive.
The switch-off of air curtain device(s) by OFF key (0) at the UBT plus control panel doesn`t
disconnect automatically the power connection to the electricity grid. Electrical systems
inside the air curtain unit as well as in the control panel and also the power cable and the
data lines may still be energized. The complete electrical disconnection of the air curtain
device from the mains will be effect exclusively by a repair switch provided by customer!

6. Operating modes (cont.)
6.3 AUTOMATIC mode
6.3.1 AUTOMATIC mode with inactive controller(s)
In AUTOMATIC mode the air curtain unit will be switched-on or switched-off by an external conductor (door
contact or a proximity switch) connected at clambs 18/19.
6.3.1.1 Overrun within AUTOMATIC mode
A overrun time for the AUTOMATIC mode can be set in menu 3.1 (Basic settings - Overrun time). In case of shu-
tup of the automatic contact (clambs 18/19 at the internal connecting board (PCB) inside the air curtain unit)
of the installation, that means if the door closes, the air curtain unit will keep in operation for the preselected
time.
6.3.1.2 HEATING mode within AUTOMATIC mode
In case of a switched-off automatic contact, the door is closed, the air curtain unit can activated for direct
room heating by using the HEATING mode within the cycle of AUTOMATIC mode.
The HEATING mode is active only if a room thermostat is connected at clambs 20/21 of the internal connec-
ting board (PCB).
If the room temperature is lower then the temperature adjusted at the room hermostat (accessory) the air
curtain unit switches ON at the preselected power level or operating stage (menu 5.2 Basic settings - Heating
stage).
The AUTOMATIC mode and the WINTER mode (heating) have to be active.
The Automatic contact for the AUTOMATIC mode takes preference over the HEATING mode..

With a stepless controlling process (possible at air curtain units with EC fans) the air outlet power of the air
curtain unit will be adapted continuously.
With a stepped controlling process (at air curtain units with AC fans) the internal reference signal changes like-
wise continuously, but the fans can only operated at the non-varying operating stages. In case of reaching the
internal switching thesholds the air curtain unit switches than to the next needed stage (power stages 1-5) and
the numeric value of the stage indicator turnes to the next possible number.
With both controlling processes the control progress (increase - decrease) will be shown by a trend marker
below the bargraph display.

6.4 SUMMER/WINTER mode
The SUMMER/WINTER key switchover between an operation with activated heating battery (WINTER mode)
or an operation without heating (SUMMER mode) manually.
For using this function a selenoid valve or electrothermal valve have to be installed.
At activated WINTER mode (LED lights up) the valve is opened.
At activated SUMMER mode (LED is not illuminated) the valve is closed basically.
The functions SUMMER mode or WINTER mode can also be initiated by an associated BMS signal connected
at the clambs 26/27 on the internal connecting board (PCB) - see also chapt. 10.1 - Internal connecting board.

6.5 Energy saving functions
For an especially and energy saving operation of air curtain system(s) ca be activated special functions:
Temperature setback mode
With activated blow-out controller the air blow-out temperature will be adjusted normally at a programm-

of outside temperature or the heating up of inside a mall area. Increases this reference temperature (value at
noontime, intensive solar radiation, interal heat generation), the air outlet temperature can lowered accordingly
without accepting restraints of the shielding effect or the comfort feeling in the scope of air curtain system.
