1 INTRODUCTION
Thank you for choosing Typhoon Standalone TV Box. The Typhoon
Standalone TV Box converts your LCD or CRT VGA monitor into a
standard TV set without any software installation on your computer. The
computer does not even need to be started.
Typhoon Standalone TV Box is specially designed for modern LCD
monitors that require XGA (1024x768) input for best display quality and
higher than 60Hz refresh rate to activate their internal circuitry. It even
has Video-in-VGA Picture-in-Picture feature for the convenience of
computer users. You can work and watch TV at the same time on the
same screen.

3 USING TYPHOON STANDALONE TV BOX
Typhoon Standalone TV Box supports VGA input refresh rate from 60Hz
to 75Hz at 640x480, 800x600 and 1024x768 resolutions during the
Picture-in-Picture mode. Please do not set the VGA resolution
higher than 1024x768 and do not set the refresh rate higher
than 75Hz.
3.1 BUTTON CONTROLS
The Typhoon Standalone TV Box buttons except for the button
operates in dual mode functions. In the Standard mode, they provide
basic maneuverability functions such as AV source selection, channel
up/down and volume up/down. In Settings mode, they serve as
navigation and selection keys for various video and audio settings. The
button itself toggles between Standard and Settings modes.

ENHANCED FUNCTION
Following functions are only available for 32-key Remote controller,
included in this package.
How to preview the scanned 9-TV channel
During Full-screen-TV mode, press the button “ Preview/Scale”, then
the monitor will display 9-channels-windows scanned gradually.
Press the arrow-key Up, Down to get the next / previous 9- channels.
How to resize the Video-window
During PiP mode, press the button “ Preview/Scale”.
Use the arrow-key to increase / decrease the size of video-window.
How to Add/Delete TV channel
Press the button “ Audio “ to +/- Channel.
NOTE: The buttons “ CH+” and ”CH-“ are not active.

3.4 ON SCREEN DISPLAY CONTROLS
The Typhoon Standalone TV Box On Screen Display (OSD) controls are
intuitive and simple to use. The most frequently used functions such as
channel up/down, volume up/down, mute, direct channel selection and
AV source have dedicated buttons on the remote controller.
The “AV Settings” OSD controls are divided into four groups: 1 Video
Settings, 2 Audio Settings, 3 Output/VGA Settings and 4 Miscellaneous
Settings. These groups are selected by pressing the “Menu” button on
the remote controller sequentially or by pressing the button on the
unit under the “Settings” mode. Pressing the “AV Settings” button again
when the OSD reaching the Miscellaneous Settings will de-activate the
OSD controls altogether. The third group Output or VGA Settings is
depends on the video mode: Output Settings is for the full-screen video
mode while VGA Settings is for the PiP video mode. Under each group,
there are several settings that are activated by pressing the “VOL”
buttons ( UP/DOWN in the menu list ). Each setting can be adjusted by
pressing the “CH” buttons. (Increase/Decrease the value)
NOTE: Actual OSD control items and expressions may very due
to firmware revision changes.
