Web Point of Care Overview
Web Point of Care Overview
The TytoCare Point of Care (POC) application enables a patient or a clinician caring for a patient at
the point of care (for example, a nurse at a clinic) to participate in an online visit with a remote
clinician (and potentially, additional guests) and communicate examination data.
When is it used?
Relevant scenarios include:
lProfessional user without a Tyto Device: A clinician (e.g., nurse or health care worker) at a
point of care (e.g., a clinic), without a Tyto Device, who needs to conduct a online visit (video
conference) with a remote clinician.
lHome user without a Tyto Device: A patient at home without a Tyto Device, who needs to
conduct a online visit (video conference) with a remote clinician.
lProfessional user with a TytoPro Device: A TytoPro user (e.g., nurse) at a clinic, who needs to
conduct an online visit with a remote clinician and to perform exams on a patient using the
TytoPro Device.
lHome user with a TytoHome Device: A TytoHome user (patient) at a home, who needs to
conduct an online visit with a remote clinician and to perform exams on themselves or a family
member using the TytoHome Device.
What is a Tyto Device?
The Tyto Device is a user-friendly electronic device that enables you to perform examinations, and
to optionally transmit the sound, video or image data to a medical professional in another
location.

Web Point of Care Overview
The Tyto Device is used with attachments to perform the following types of examinations: Lungs,
Heart, Heart Rate, Ears, Throat, Body Temperature, Skin. The attachments, which are supplied
with the device, are used with the Tyto Stethoscope, Tyto Otoscope, and Tyto Exam Camera. The
Tyto Thermometer is incorporated within the Tyto Device.
Communication between two locations
The POC app enables communication between two or more separate locations:
lPOC location: The clinician at the point of care or the patient at home connects to an online visit
on a mobile device or computer. They communicate with the remote clinician via the device or
computer's camera and speakers. If the visit includes Tyto exams, these are not visible from this
side.
lRemote location: The remote clinician connects to the online visit, typically, on a computer. If
the visit includes Tyto exams, these are visible by the remote clinician, who controls when to
start and stop recording.
From the point of care side, you can see and hear the remote clinician and can see a small video of
yourself.

Pair the Tyto Device and your mobile device/computer
Pair the Tyto Device and your mobile device/computer
In order to start using the Tyto Device, you must perform a short pairing process between the
Device and your mobile device or computer. This pairing enables communication between the two
devices over the Wi-Fi network or hotspot.
This process is done once per Tyto Device. If you change your Wi-Fi password, change your Wi-Fi
router or make any other change to your wireless network, you will need to pair the Device again.
Before pairing, make sure that your computer or mobile device is connected to your Wi-Fi
network, which has an internet connection, and make sure that you know its password.
Note: If your Wi-Fi network is not secured by a password, you will not be able to pair the
devices, except via special request to the Tyto administrator.
1. Go to the POC application, as directed by your health care provider application. The POC
application opens in a Web browser.
2. If you are a patient, you are asked to consent to share your medical information with the
remote clinician. Follow the instructions on your screen to affirm that you agree to the
terms and conditions.
3. If you have never paired the Device before, the Pairing dialog box appears in the POC
application. Click Pair Device.
Note: If you have previously paired the Device but want to change the pairing, click the Pair
Device button in the lower-right corner of the screen to bring up the Pairing dialog box.
