MANDATORY
READ THIS MANUAL FIRST BEFORE INSTALLING
OR OPERATING YOUR POWER RECLINER.
Your power recliner has been engineered from the leg levelers up
to provide the ultimate in strength and reliability. Great care has
been taken to provide you with total comfort and safety. UltraComfort thoroughly
inspects and tests each unit prior to shipment.
WARNING
Care should be taken in the unpacking of this unit, so as not to cause
injury to persons or damage to the unit. Dispose of all plastic bags and
covers, as they can be a smothering hazard to small children.
Do not allow children or pets near the recliner while
the recliner is operating.
Do not allow children to play with or operate the
recliner at any time.
Hand control should be unplugged and placed out of
the reach of children when the recliner is not in use.
Do not flop down into the recliner when getting into it. Flopping down
into the recliner will damage it and could cause personal injury.
Do not allow anyone to sit on your lap, or on the arm of the recliner,
or on the footrest while in or operating the recliner, as it may cause
tipping and could result in personal injury.
Do not place fingers or hands between the seat cushion and the inside
arm of the recliner while sitting in the recliner or when the recliner is
in operation or plugged into a power source.
Do not retrieve fallen objects from inside or under the recliner while
the recliner is plugged into a power source.
Do not operate the recliner if there are any persons,
pets or other obstructions under or in front of the
footrest, or behind the recliner.
Do not position yourself, child and/or pet too high
on the recliner while the recliner back is reclined.
This can cause a tip over hazard. Make sure you are
properly fitted for the recliner prior to operating the
recliner.

Do not smoke while operating, sitting or resting in the recliner.
To reduce risk of electrical shock, do not immerse any of the
electrical components into a liquid, or spill any liquids onto electrical
components. Do not open any of the electrical components. There are
no serviceable parts. Exposure to moisture and/or liquid can cause the
chair to not operate normally or catastrophic failure.
Warranty will be void if any of the electrical components are opened by
anyone other than a qualified service person.
Make sure the recliner is placed at the specified distance from a wall/
corner (page 9). Failure to do so can damage the recliner and will void
the warranty.
Do not use any type of electrical extension cord to plug your
recliner into an electrical outlet. Make sure that all electrical
products and their wires are positioned away from your
recliner as the metal frame mechanism could crush them and
create a fire hazard and/or may cause personal injury.
Do not operate your recliner while intoxicated or taking medications
that impair your mental or physical abilities to operate the recliner
safely. Consult with your doctor about any medications you are taking
that may affect the safe operation of the recliner.
Do not operate this product if you have any medical conditions that
result in limited, debilitating mental or physical capacity. You should
consult your doctor before using this product.
Consult with your physician regarding using the Trendelenburg
position.
Placing the recliner in the center of a room or too far away from a wall
will create a tripping hazard, because the power wires for the recliner
will be crossing main traffic areas in the residence.
If the recliner user is unconscious or sleeping the hand control may
inadvertently become activated in a way that may force the user out of
the recliner.
Should you ever encounter a problem with the operation of your
power recliner, discontinue all use of the product upon discovery of the
problem. Contact the retailer from whom you purchased your recliner
to arrange service.
Exceeding the stated weight limit listed in this manual can result in
instability of the recliner, causing a potential tip over hazard.

Consult the owner’s manual of the recliner and a physician to determine if
you are capable of moving or lifting the recliner, as this will cause
serious injury if not done properly.
Verify that all objects including hands and fingers are not between
the arm of the recliner and the open compartment before closing the
compartment as this will result in property damage or serious injury.
This is an electrical device and will be impacted by any power failure.
To operate this recliner properly, you must read and understand the
intended use of the product, and overall operation of the recliner as
misuse, or lack of proper training may lead to serious injury.
Use extreme care when unpacking, assembling, and disassembling of
this unit, so as not to cause injury to persons or damage to the unit.
Use caution when adding accessories to your recliner. Improper
placement or use of the accessories can cause compressions and/or
permanent marking to the recliner’s fabric.

Li-ion Battery Pack
CONNECTING POWER
Models UC669-MED, UC671-MED
Your power recliner comes with a lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery backup. The battery
backup is designed to bring the recliner to a seated position from the recline
position in the event of a household power failure.
Note: Refer to the instructions packaged with the transformer/lithium-ion
battery backup for additional information.
Transformer with rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack
1. Remove AC/DC adapter (transformer) and lithium-ion battery pack from
packaging located under base of recliner. Connect the lithium-ion battery pack
to the transformer, by sliding them together. Place transformer/lithium-ion
pack on floor behind the recliner.
2. Locate the power cord from the motor. It is attached to the motor shaft under
the recliner with a white zip tie. Remove white zip tie, extend the cable under
and out behind the recliner and connect to the transformer as shown below.
3. Make sure all connections are tight. Plug the adapter wire into a standard
(115-120V.A.C.) wall outlet.
Charging:
If the Li-ion battery pack and transformer are assembled and charging the battery,
the LED light will be RED.
If the Li-ion battery pack and transformer are assembled and the battery is fully
charged, the LED light will be GREEN.

Battery BaCkuP SyStem
Your UltraComfort power recliner comes with a battery back up system, so the
recliner can return to the seated position in the event of a household power
failure.
Recliners with the lithium battery pack have enough energy to bring the
recliner to a seated position from the recline position. The lithium battery pack is
not intended to operate the recliner for a prolonged period of time in the absence
of standard household voltage (120 volt, 60 Hz). However, the lithium battery
pack will self-charge as long as the recliner is plugged in and household voltage is
present. The lithium battery pack should be fully charged and disconnected from
the recliner if the recliner will not be used for extended periods of time.
reCliner loCation
1.Place your recliner in the room where it will be most convenient for you,
such as near the television, reading light, end table, or other furniture. Leave
enough space between the recliner and the wall or other obstruction to allow
the recliner to recline unobstructed.
Note: The distance required is approximately 27 inches for all power recliner
models.
WARNING: Do not allow any objects to restrict movement of
the back of recliner or the footrest, which can result in damage to the
recliner and/or property damage.
Some carpets have a high plush pile that can rub on the bottom of the footrest.
This situation can damage the mechanism. You can correct this situation by
turning the levelers (located under the front of the recliner) to raise the
footrest enough to clear the carpet.
2.While standing next to your recliner, fully recline the recliner to make sure the
back of the recliner and footrest do not come in contact with an obstruction.
Once you have completed this test run, you are ready to use your recliner.

1. Getting into your recliner. While standing next to your recliner, press button
(S7). Continue holding button (S7) until the recliner is in the seated position
(recliner back fully forward and foot board closed), then release the button.
This position will allow you to easily sit in your recliner. Flopping down into
the recliner may damage it and could cause personal injury.
2. Getting out of your recliner. Press button (S7). Continue holding button
(S7) until the recliner is in the seated position (recliner back fully forward and
footboard closed), then release the button.
Micro Adjustments
1. To recline the back of the recliner, press button (S1) and hold until the
back reaches the desired position. Then release the button.
2. To bring the back of the recliner to an upright position, press button (S2)
and hold until the back reaches the desired position. Then release the button.

To raise the footrest and seat, press button
(S3) and hold until the footrest reaches the
desired position. Then release the button.
To lower the footrest and seat, press
button (S4) and hold until the footrest
closes. Then release the button.
Note: The motors are set to shut off when
they reach their fully extended or fully
retracted position if the selected button is
not released. If you should go past your
desired position, select the button to bring you
back to your desired position. You can repeat
the process as often as you like.
Tilt Adjustments
1. To tilt the recliner backward (towards the
wall), press (S11) and hold it until the recliner
reaches a position suitable for you, then release
the button.
2. To tilt the recliner forward (away from
wall), press (S12) and hold it until the recliner reaches a position suitable for
you, then release the button.
