Cradle Mode
Connection
Before connecting the MS840 cradle to your host PC, please fully charge the
battery of MS840. Connect the power supply to power source and to the MS840
cradle. It takes approximately 5 hours to fully charge the battery.
When battery is charged connect the cradle to the host computer.
Device Manager will show “USB Human Interface Device”,
and if you double click it, it will show “Wireless Base” on its
properties window.
Cradle Mode (Default), Connection of MS840 through cradle
1.Connect powersupply to the cradle. Turn on your computer. Connect the cradle
to the USB, RS232, or PS2 port of your computer, depending of the cable
delivered with your MS840.
2.Determine that the power LED on the cradle is bright in solid green and the
communication status LED on the cradle is bright in solid blue.
3.Scan the Cradle Mode barcode.
4.Scan the barcode label on the bottom side of the cradle (Host Address).
5.Determine that the scanner LED turns off and the
scanner beeps shortly one time with a high tone
and that the LED on the cradle flashes in blue
(communication status indicator).
6.Connection can be tested by pressing the Pager
button at the cradle
Cradle-less Mode,Direct connection of MS840, without cradle
1.Turn on your Host Device (Host). Scan the Cradle-less Mode barcode.
Cradle-less Mode
2.The LED of MS840 will flash in blue. Set your Host; wirelessly search for
the MS840 scanner. When your Host locates a “HID SCANNER”, select
it.
3.You will get a pairing pin code which needs to entered into MS840. Scan
the “Link Keys”barcode and scan the labels according to the pin code.

4.When pairing pin code is entered, scan the CR($M) barcode.

NOTE; Scanning the DLE($P) barcode will erase the entered link key
