The MX-5000 is the master of IP (Internet Protocol)
over your home network. Via a comprehensive 2-way
database of the most popular IP controlled Audio Video
Receivers from B&K, Denon, Integra and Yamaha, your
MX-5000 can display the current status and browse the
media opons of networked Audio Video receiver.
In operaon, it’s incredible. Now, you can see the actual
volume seng no maer what you are listening to or
whether the TV is on or o. No more peering into the
equipment rack just to “make sure” the volume isn’t set
too high!
Whenever you touch the Volume Up, Down or Mute but-
tons on the MX-5000, a pop up display, connected real
me with your AVR, displays the current volume as you
adjust it. Once you’ve stopped adjusng volume, the pop-
up display conveniently disappears!

The MX-5000 is a 2-way wand-style touch screen
color remote that provides network control of
many popular IP-based components. In addi-
on to its stunning design it oers a fully cus-
tomizable GUI on a large color screen that
sends vibrang “hapc” feedback conrm-
ing each buon selecon.

The MRX-1 is a true bridge between the network and IR,
RS-232 and relay-controlled devices. In addion, it pro-
vides 2-way status and feedback via RS-232 and a volt-
age/video sensor to network keypads and remotes.
The MRX-1 serves as a “converter” to RS-232 controlled
devices, enabling your MX-5000 to communicate over
the network to an equipment rack located anywhere in
your house. Since the conversion is both ways, your RS-
232 device can be both controlled and can update your
MX-5000 with the current status, and display volume pop
ups, tuner interfaces and lists of AVR radio presets etc. all
on the screen of the MX-5000.
In addion, the MRX-1 provides the MX-5000 with control
over relay and IR controlled devices.

touch screen is mounted in a remote
control where every surface, every con-
tour, and every buon has been designed to
feel “right.” Since WiFi 2-way delivers so much
more fun, you’ll need twice the baery life of
other products and the MX-5000 delivers it invis-
ibly, without excess weight or bulk. The weight is
perfectly posioned to balance in your hand. Con-
tours are shaped and molded into the back so that

The revoluonary wand MX-5000 brings the power of WiFi
networking to the home theater, without compromising simplic-
ity. The high speed of the built-in 802.11 B/G WiFi transceiver
enables the MX-5000 to display lists of arsts, albums or songs
and to display the cover art of the selected album on the Now
Playing screen of the remote control from the PSX-2 Personal
Server.
The MX-5000 oers two independent communicaons and
control methods simultaneously. It provides both a narrow band
418 MHz transmier for instant control of convenonal home
theater components and a WiFi transceiver for high speed
transfer of cover art, arst, album and tle metadata.
The high speed of the built-in 802.11 B/G WiFi transceiv-
er enables the MX-5000 to display lists of arsts, albums
or songs and to display the cover art of the selected
album on the Now Playing screen of the remote control.
Internet Connecon Provides Real Time News, Sports, Weather and Stocks
When the MX-5000 is connected to the Internet, pre-programmed modules enable instant access to
personalized news, sports, weather and stocks.
Unlike other devices, the MX-5000’s news, sports, weather and stocks modules are user-congurable
without a programmer or a PC. On a whim, you can check out the opposing team’s scores, or get the
weather forecast for a vacaon desnaon.

Real Time Volume Display on the MX-5000 Screen
Whenever you adjust the volume or press the Mute buon, the MX-
5000 pops up a dynamic link to your IP controlled Audio Video receiv-
er (the URC 2-Way database includes popular IP controlled products
from Denon, Yamaha, Integra and B&K) and displays a bar graph on
the screen of the MX-5000. If you need to adjust the sound before
the movie starts, you can check the actual seng in real me, by sim-
ply touching one of the Volume buons.

boxes and exoc wiring. A lighng sys-
tem can be as simple as a single URC RF
lamp dimmer on a lamp that you’d love
to control without geng out of your
chair.
The MX-5000 directly controls lights connected to URC RF Dimmers
and Switches. You can brighten, dim, and recall scenes, and you can
store new scenes whenever you like, without a PC or a programmer.
Simply manually adjust each dimmer to the new seng, then press
and hold the scene buon on your MX-5000 (just like storing radio
staons in your car).

Instead of purchasing an expensive “Media PC” or dedicated mu-
sic server, any PC with iTunes and/or Windows Media Player can
be connected to your audio system to act as a high powered mu-
sic server with the most engaging, intuive user interface you’ve
ever seen.
Up to now, the complexity of having to deal with a keyboard and
a mouse in your listening room has made this an uncomfortable
choice.
You know the frustrang feeling—some of your music was down-
loaded via iTunes and some of your music via Windows Media
Player, you’ve had to keep separate libraries. Finding the music
you paid for was dicult.
MX-5000 Server is a soware applicaon that, once installed on
a PC, combines your iTunes library with your Media Player library.
The MX-5000 ulizes its network connecon via WiFi to communi-
cate with the server soware on the PC. Since all communicaon
happens at WiFi “G” speeds, there are no lags or delays displaying
the informaon or lists on the screen of the MX-5000.
All your cover art, arst, album and song tle metadata appear on
the screen of the MX-5000. Lists are navigated via the integrated
Up and Down buons on the remote without ever connecng a
keyboard or mouse to the PC.
You build a “queue” of whatever music in on your PC and shue
or sequenally play it, just as you like. At last, you have access to
all the music you’ve paid for... all the music you want without the
hassles... the music simply plays...

No Rules, Instant Control of
Standard AV Components
Unlike other WiFi remote controls, the MX-5000 uses a second RF
(Radio Frequency) transmier to control convenonal gear instantly,
without the frustrang delay of waing for the remote control to
“join the network” when you simply want to turn the system on.
This provides you with instant “no rules control” of AV receivers, at
screen TVs, projectors, cable and satellite receivers, DVD players and
changers.

The MX-5000 is compable with the ultra-reliable MSC-
400 “Trigger” protocol, which enables complex macros,
stored in the MSC-400, to be individually triggered with
a single buon push on the MX-5000 regardless of the
interference and noise in the environment.
The combinaon of very narrow transmission of digitally
encoded packets sent THREE mes at digital speeds in
milliseconds assures that every buon press on the
remote will be received by the MSC-400. The MSC-400’s
sophiscated error correcon circuitry stores all three
packets and compares them. Once two packets are iden-
ed as idencal, the MSC-400 goes to work.
This new technology not only increases range, but in-
creases reliability by a vast margin.

Automac Backlighng
The integral moon sensor detects any movement of the touch screen and automacally backlights
the screen. The user does not have to press any buon to display the screen. Any movement of the
MX-5000 renews the backlighng. Without movement, the touch screen stays lit for 1 to 99 seconds
(programmed by the installer).

Double Capacity Lithium Ion Baeries and
Charging Base
The demands of WiFi and high speed transfers coupled with a
large color touch screen raise the demand for power to a new
high. The MX-5000 is equipped with a unique double capacity
Lithium Ion baery, providing over 4 hours of connuous use
before recharging is necessary. Should the MX-5000 be le
on a table, it will remain in standby mode for 9 days without
requiring a recharge.
The aracve charging base oers an ideal angle to use while
charging, so may be placed on or near your chair. In addion,
the MX-5000 oers a power input at the base of the remote,
so that it can be hand held while charging directly from the
power adapter.
