The Sidecar Shelf can be installed on either the right or left side of your UPLIFT V2 or V2-Commercial Desk. These
instructions apply to both the UPLIFT Desk C-frame (with 24” or 30” deep desktops) and T-frame (with 30” deep desktops).
The Sidecar Shelf is great for placing a computer tower, small printer, battery backup, plant, books, or a host of other ofce
accessories.
CAUTION: Read all instructions before assembly. Failure to assemble or operate properly may result
in damage or personal injury. Retain manual for future reference.
CAUTION: Maximum weight capacity: 60 lb
CAUTION: Ensure nothing is located under the Sidecar Shelf tray before lowering the desk.
CAUTION: If small unsupervised children are present, activate the keypad’s constant-touch
movement function or use the child lock feature on your keypad to ensure the desk isn’t operated
by children.

Step 1 - Extension Arm Attachment
A. If you are attaching the Sidecar Shelf to a height
adjustable desk frame, raise the desk to its
maximum height for ease of installation. Then
unplug the desk to eliminate the risk of accidental
movement.

B. Choose the side of the desk on which you want to
attach the Sidecar Shelf. Then identify the correct
threaded holes as shown in the image.

C. Using the 5mm Allen Wrench, insert two of the M8 x
10 Button Head Screws in the threaded holes shown in
the image leaving a gap of about ¼” (5mm) between
the frame and underside of the screw head.

D. Align the large holes of the key slots in the Left and
Right Extension Arms with the screws installed
in the previous step. Position the Left and Right
Extension Arms so they are touching the sides of
the desk frame, with the screw heads entering the
large holes in the key slots.
E. Once the Extension Arms are against the desktop
frame, slide them toward the desk leg and side
bracket so the screw heads are visible through the
holes on the outside of the Extension Arms.
F. Do not tighten the screws yet. They will be tightened
in the next step.

Step 2 - Tray Attachment
A. Carefully rest the Tray on top of the at portions
of the Extension Arms as shown.

Standard and Offset Tray Location
C. Determine if you want to attach the Tray to the arms in the Standard Tray Location or the Offset Tray Location. The
Standard Tray Location is recommended for most users with desktops that are less than 80” wide. The Offset Tray
Location is recommended for desks that are 80” or wider, or if you are going to place items onto the Tray that are
outward beyond the footprint of the tray and need more space between the Tray and the desk leg.
D. Align the holes of the Tray with the holes of the Extension Arms as shown in the diagrams below depending on your
preferred tray location and whether you have a C-frame or a T-frame desk. The holes circled in blue indicate the holes
that should be aligned and where you will insert the screws in the next step to attach the Tray to the Extension Arms.

E. From the underside of the Extension Arms and Tray,
loosely insert the six M6 x 8 Button Head Screws
into the holes indicated in the previous step by the
blue circles. Do not tighten any screws until they all
have been started.
F. Once all six screws have been started, tighten them
completely using the smaller 4mm Allen Wrench.
G. Now, go back and tighten the four M8 x 10 Button
Head Screws from Step 1 using the larger 5mm
Allen Wrench through the holes in the outside of the
Extension Arms.
Step 3 - Tray Pad Application
A. Peel the liner off of the Tray Pad to expose the
adhesive backing.
B. Align the Tray Pad within the walls of the Tray and
press down to afx the pad to the Tray’s surface.
Apply the pad from one end to the other to ensure it
lays at without bumps or bubbles.
Step 4 - Tube and Hole Plug
Installation
A. Insert the four Tube Plugs into the open ends at the
top and bottom of the Extension Arms as shown.

B. Insert the four 16mm Hole Plugs into the larger
holes at the top sections of each Extension Arm as
shown.
