If you have aTV with a remote control,we
recommend that you plug its power cord
directly into a wall outlet if available (your
cableinstallermayselectanalternatesetup).
Make sure to set your TV to channel 2,3,or 4
asdirectedbyyourcable company.
Before you can program or operate the remote
control,you must install two AAA Alkaline
batteries.
Step 1

backofyourremotecontrol.

Checkbatterypolaritycarefully,and
installthebatteriesasshowninthe
illustrationbelow.

music terminal.To do this,you need to setup the [AUX] button so it functions like a second [TV] or
[VCR] button.

Now, pressthe[AUX] button,and thenthe buttonthatyou want the[AUX] buttontoemulate (either
the[TV] or[VCR] button),then pressthe [SETUP] button. Theredindicatorlight atthe upperright-
handcornerofyourremotewillflash3timesifthesestepswerefollowedcorrectly.
The[AUX] buttoncannowbe programmedto controlthe specificdevice.Followthe instructionsabove
instep1andpressthe[AUX]buttonanytimeyouaretoldtopressthe[DEVICE]button.

“Quick Programming Instructions” sticker to

Problem
Iprogrammedtheremote,butitwon’tworkmyTV,VCR,orCableBox.
Solution
You may have entered the wrong code (or the correct code might not be listed).Try entering
allof thedevicemanufacturer’scodes again,starting withthe manufacturer’s popularcode if
oneisavailable.
If you are still unable to operate your device,follow the instructions in the section
titledCodeScan™ .
Weak batteries may cause the remote to only operate one device.If this happens,simply
replace them with NEW alkaline batteries and reprogram the remote.If you are sure the
batteriesaregood,tryrollingthemwithyourfingertoensureagoodconnection.
Problem
Myremotecontroldoesn’toperatemycombinationTV/VCR.
Solution
Most combination TV/VCRs haveVCR tuners in them.You will need to select a code
from theVCR section that will power up yourTV/VCR.If this is the case,you probably
won’t need to use a TV code.Also,to control volume with your remote control, you
mustprogramthe remotefor thecablebox last.
Ifnoneof the codeslistedforyourCableBox,TV,orVCRworks,theCodeScan™methodwillallowyouto
cyclethroughalltheavailablecodesintheremoteuntilyoufindtherightCableBox,TV,orVCRcode.
ManuallyturnONpowertothedeviceyouwanttoprogramtheremotefor
(CableBox,TV,orVCR).
Pointtheremotecontrolatthedevice,andpressthefollowingkeys:
[the device button](theredbuttonsatthetopoftheremote),[SETUP],
[the right arrow key],then the[POWER] button.
IfthedeviceisstillON,continueatstep3below.IfitturnsOFF,press[SETUP]
againtostorethecodeyoujustselected,andyou’realldone. Theredindicator
