Emptying the Water Tank
When the water tank is full, the unit beeps eight times, the Full light blinks and the display reads “P2.” If the unit is ON,
the compressor turns OFF and the fan runs for 30 seconds to dry the condenser.
1. Grip the handles on the sides of the tank and slowly pull the tank out of the unit. Do not place the tank on the floor
as its uneven bottom may cause it to spill.
2. Empty the tank and carefully replace it in the unit.
Continuous Drainage
To continuously drain water from the unit,
1. Remove the water tank and the cover from the drain hose outlet on the back of the unit.
2. Attach the provided drain hose to the drain hose adapter.
3. Insert the opposite end of the drain hose through the drain hose outlet and attach it to the connector at the front
right of the unit. Ensure the drain hose fits securely to the connector.
4. Use the provided screws to secure the drain hose adapter to the unit.
5. Thread the female end of a garden hose [or other hose (5 /16 -inch-ID or greater) with garden hose thread, not
included] onto the unit’s drain hose outlet. Ensure the hose is securely attached to the outlet.
6. Direct the other hose end to a floor drain or other suitable disposal area. For proper drainage, the entire length of
the hose must be positioned lower than the drain hose outlet.
7. Remove the drain hose from the outlet and replace the outlet cover when the continuous drain function is not
in use.
Auto-Shutoff
The unit will turn off 30 seconds after the water tank reaches capacity. The unit will also turn off automatically when
the set humidity level is reached.
Auto-Defrost
When frost accumulates on the evaporator coils, the compressor will turn off and the fan will continue to run until the
evaporator coils defrost.
Auto-Restart
After a power interruption, this unit will restart automatically using the previously programmed settings. To protect the
unit, the compressor will not restart until three minutes after shutting down.
Cleaning the Air Filter
For optimal operation, clean the air filter every two weeks. With the unit powered OFF,
1. Slide the air filter out from the top of the unit.
2. Rinse the filter in warm water.
3. Allow the filter to dry completely before replacing it in the unit.
Cleaning the Unit
With the unit powered OFF,
• Use a soft cloth dampened with water and mild detergent.
• Use a vacuum or brush to clean the air intake and outlet grilles.
• Clean the tank with water and mild detergent every few weeks to prevent the growth of mold, mildew and
bacteria. Do not put the tank in the dishwasher.
