Installing the wireless speaker battery
• Risk of explosion! Batteries should not be exposed to excessive heat
such as bright sunlight or re.
• Use only the supplied battery.

1. After removing the battery door, plug the battery connector securely into
the socket inside the battery compartment.
2. Place the battery into the battery compartment.
3. Attach the battery door until it clicks into place.
Connecting power to the VCS850
1. Plug one end of the AC adapter into the power jack on the bottom of the
unit.
2. Route the cord through the slots.
3. Plug the large end of the AC adapter into a wall outlet not controlled by a
switch.
After connecting power, the VCS850 LEDs light orange for ve seconds.
• The supplied power adapter is designed for use with only the
VCS850. It is not designed to power other devices. Do not connect
the supplied power adapter to any other devices.
• The AC power cord is intended for a vertical or oor mount position.
The prongs are not designed to hold the plug in place if it is plugged
into a ceiling or cabinet outlet.

Register the Wireless Speakerphone
You must register the VCS850 using the menus on the VCS752 SIP
Conference Phone.
Flashing red and green LEDs indicate the VCS850 is ready for registration.
After power-up, press and hold the REGISTRATION button on the bottom of
the unit for ve seconds. Release the button, and, with the VCS850 LEDs
ashing red and green, perform the registration procedure below.
1. On the VCS752 SIP Conference Phone, press MENU.
2. On the Main Menu, highlight User settings and then press SELECT.
3. On the User settings menu, highlight Wireless speaker and then press
SELECT.
4. On the Wireless speaker menu, with Register highlighted, press
SELECT.
The screen displays Registering... and then Registration succeeded. The
base plays a conrmation tone. The registered speaker LEDs stop ashing
red and green. The LEDs turn green briey and then turn off.
5. Repeat steps 1 to 4 for any additional wireless speakerphones.
• If a speakerphone fails to register, the base unit will display
Registration failed.
• To cancel registration, press CANCEL.

Replace a Wireless Speakerphone
If you want to replace a VCS850, you must deregister the speakerphones
that are registered to the telephone base.
To make deregistration easier, read all of the instructions on this page before
you begin.
To deregister the speakerphones:
1. On the VCS752 SIP Conference Phone, press MENU.
2. On the Main Menu, highlight User settings and then press SELECT.
3. On the User settings menu, highlight Wireless speaker and then press
SELECT.
4. On the Wireless speaker menu, highlight Deregister and then press
SELECT.
5. Press Yes to deregister all the wireless speakers.
The screen displays Deregistering... and then Wireless speakers are
deregistered.
6. Place the new VCS850 near the VCS752 and perform the registration
procedure from page 4.

Make a call
The VCS850 cannot make calls. Use the VCS752 for making calls, putting
calls on hold, transfer, conference, and so on. You can answer calls, end
calls, and mute audio using the VCS850.
Answer a call
To answer a call, press .
The call becomes active on all VCS850s and the VCS752.
End a call
To end a call, press during a call.
The call ends on all VCS850s and the VCS752.
Mute audio during a call
Press MUTE ALL. All VCS850s and the VCS752 will be muted. The LEDs on
all devices turn red, and you cannot be heard by the other party.
Ringer
When the VCS752 rings for incoming calls, the VCS850 rings as well. The
VCS850 LEDs ash green, and the ringer will sound (if not muted).
To immediately mute the ringer, press MUTE ALL. The ringer becomes active
again for the next call.
Volume control
To adjust the ringer volume:
When the VCS850 is not in use, press / .
To adjust the listening volume:
During a call, press / .
