PREPARING FOR INSTALLATION
Inspect your pump, ensuring that it is well packaged and has not been damaged in transport. If the pump is damaged, report it to the Reece
branch where the pump was purchased. Warranty of these pumps is void unless they are operated in accordance with these instructions.
For electrical and model details see the pump name plate.
Do not use the electrical cable to lift or transport the pump.
INSTALLATION
Please ensure the installation checklist (found at the end of this document) is filled out during installation
1. Firstly determine the water supply pressure in the home. The V30-RC is rated to a maximum operating pressure of 500kpa. If the pressure
exceeds 500kpa it is necessary to install a pressure-limiting valve to the cold-water inlet to the home. It is also important that the Hot and Cold
systems are of an equal pressure. If a pressure limiting valve is fitted to the hot water system it will be necessary to install a second pressure
limiting valve to the cold water system as it enters the home. Do not limit the pressure at the connection point to the V30-RC.
2. Turn off the water supply and relieve the pressure from both the hot and cold lines.
3. If it is a new installation ensure that the pipes are thoroughly flushed of all swarf and debris prior to installing the V30-RC as this could harm
the unit.
4. Disconnect the pipes that connect from the threaded nipples protruding from the wall to the tap.
5. Install brass tees and valves, in a configuration that matches figure 1.
6. It is necessary to install isolation valves to the V30-RC unit. These must only be ball type valves that will allow water to flow in both directions.
They should be mounted at the wall to the new tees that have been fitted.
7. Re connect the pipes to the new threads on the brass tees (one hot and one cold)
8. Connect ball valves and flexible braided hoses to the remaining threads on the tees and connect to the threads on the V30-RC. Ensure that the
hot and cold connections are made to the correct side of the V30-RC. The hot and cold are marked on the unit. Do not strain the fittings on the
pump, as this could break the threads.
9. Position the V30-RC on a shelf or mount it to the back of the cupboard and fix with screws.
10. Turn on the water supply and check for leaks.
11. Select a suitable location for the remote activation button, usually in the bench or side of the cupboard.
12. Priming the pump is very important - After installing the V30-RC and before pressing the button, turn on the hot and cold water with a low
flow, then press the activation button of the V30-RC. This will purge any air from within the V30-RC pump. This must be done on installation and
any time that the water service has been isolated and drained.
13. There are no special tools required for the installation of this product.
OPERATION
1. To operate the V30-RC, simply press the activation button.
2. The unit will provide one audible beep to indicate it has started to circulate hot water.
3. The unit will beep three times once hot water has arrived at the location.
NB: the time it takes for water to arrive will depend on pipe length, size and type of water heater.
If the V30-RC is to be controlled from more than one location, it is possible to install multiple buttons when wired in parallel. If more than one
button is required, contact your Reece store to order.
GENERAL CARE AND MAINTENANCE
The V30-RC requires no specific maintenance. Although it will be beneficial for the lifetime of the unit to ensure the water supply is free of par-
ticles such as rust and scale.

TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE
Symptom Remedy
Press the button and nothing happens Make sure that the power is on and the unit is switched on.
Test that the power point is working by plugging in another appliance.
Check the connection to the button is correct.
The V30-RC runs but hot water does not reach the tap. Check that the hot water system is on and the water is heating.
Check that the pipes connecting the V30-RC are connected to the hot and cold points correctly.
Check that the pressures of the hot and cold systems are similar.
The V30-RC runs when the button has not been pressed. Check the connection to the button is sound.
The V30-RC runs for the full four minutes but the hot water
is not at the tap.
Check that the hot water system is on and hot.
Check that the pipes connecting the V30-RC are connected to the hot and cold points respectively.
You have installed the V30-RC on a very large installation and the pipe system is longer than the
V30-RC is able to pump within the four-minute maximum run time.
The V30-RC runs and switches off but the water is not hot. The cold water through the V30-RC may be inhibited, check that there are not any valves or fittings
that may be designed to allow flow in one direction only, between the V30-RC and the hot water
unit or tank. The water within the cold water line must be able to flow back towards the hot water
system. Some stop valves will not allow water to flow in reverse it will be necessary to remove or
replace these valves. Also check the in and out points on the V30-RC and ensure that the hot and
cold are correctly connected. Check that the unit is installed in the correct direction of flow
Hot water is in the cold line when the V30-RC has not been
operating.
Re check both hot and cold pressures are equal – a higher hot water pressure may allow some by
pass of hot water into the cold line when other cold taps are turned on

Cold Water Inlet Pressure? __________________ (Do not proceed if in excess of 500KPA)
Hot Water Pressure? __________________
(Hot and cold water pressures must be equal before continuing and must not exceed 500KPA).
Is a pressure limiting valve fitted to the HWS Y / N (Circle)
Equal pressure of the hot and cold water systems is critical for the correct operation of this product. Do not install pressure limiting valve,
stop taps or any valve with a non return capability.
Important do’s and don’ts
The cold water line must not have a non-return valve between the outlet and the hot water unit.
Flexible connections must only be used
Do not over tighten or place additional pressure on the connections.
The hot and cold connection points must connect directly to the hot and cold lines.
(No pressure limiting valves at connections.)
The water supply must be turned on and the pump primed before turning on the power.
Warning – Operation of the V30-RC without water will damage the unit and void the warranty. Ensure that the water supply is on before
operating the V30-RC. The V30-RC is not suitable for gravity fed low-pressure hot water systems. Ensure that the water pressure does not
exceed 500kpa and that the hot and cold-water pressures are equal (see installation instructions for further detail). The V30-RC must be
installed by a licensed plumber, failure to comply with this will automatically void the warranty.
