2 Descripción del aparato
2.1 Uso adecuado
Las bombas de calor del tipo geoTHERM de Vaillant han
sido fabricadas según los últimos avances técnicos y las
normativas de seguridad técnica reconocidas. Sin em-
bargo, una utilización inadecuada puede poner en peli-
gro la integridad corporal y la vida del usuario o de ter-
ceros, así como producir daños en el aparato y otros
daños materiales.
Este aparato no está destinado a ser utilizado por per-
sonas (incluidos niños) con capacidades físicas, senso-
riales o psíquicas reducidas o carentes de experiencia o
conocimientos, a no ser que la persona responsable de
su seguridad las supervise o las instruya en su uso.
Los niños deben ser vigilados para garantizar que no
jueguen con este aparato.
El limitador de corriente de arranque ha sido diseñado
para uso exclusivo con las bombas de calor VWL 7C/9C,
VWS/VWW 61/2, 81/2, 101/2, 141/2, 171/2, 62/2, 82/2,
102/2 y VWS 63/2, 83/2, 103/2, VWS 64/2, 84/2, 104/2.
Cualquier otro uso se considera no adecuado. El fabri-
cante/distribuidor no se responsabiliza de los daños
causados por usos inadecuados. El propietario asume
todo el riesgo.
El cumplimiento de las instrucciones de montaje forma
parte de la utilización adecuada del limitador de corrien-
te de arranque.

Se prohibe cualquier otro uso.
El calefactor debe ser instalado por personal cualificado,
que será responsable de que se respeten y tengan en
cuenta las prescripciones, regulaciones y directrices vi-
gentes.
2.2 Volumen de suministro
El volumen de suministro contiene:
– Platina de limitador de corriente de arranque con
mazo de cables
- Instrucciones de montaje

3.1 Observaciones de seguridad
La instalación del aparato debe ser llevada a cabo exclu-
sivamente por un técnico autorizado, que será respon-
sable de que se respeten las normas y directrices vigen-
tes. Éste asumirá la responsabilidad de una instalación y
una puesta en marcha correctas. Tenga en cuenta las
observaciones de seguridad de estas instrucciones al
instalar el aparato.

Peligro de electrocución.
Antes de cualquier trabajo en la instalación
eléctrica, desconecte el aparato de la red eléc-
trica. Asegúrese de que no es posible una co-
nexión accidental.
a¡Atención!
Peligro de daños.
La instalación eléctrica debe ser efectuada ex-
clusivamente por el servicio de asistencia téc-
nica oficial.
Nota (para Alemania):
h¡Observación!
Tenga en cuenta durante la conexión eléctrica
de la bomba de calor, las condiciones técnicas
de conexión a una red de baja tensión
(TAB 2000) que dispone la empresa de sumi-
nistro eléctrico.

4 Montaje
4.1 Conexión del limitador de corriente de arran-
que (para VWL 7C/9C)
• Instale la platina del limitador de corriente de arran-
que en la caja de distribución (1) sobre la chapa de la
instalación eléctrica, sujetando la platina debajo con
los soportes previstos y atornillando arriba.
• Retire los tres puentes de fábrica (2, líneas de
puntos).
• Conecte la línea de control incluida del limitador de
corriente a la platina principal (3y 4).
• Conecte los bornes de entrada y salida del limitador
de corriente de arranque con las líneas de conexión
suministradas en concordancia de fase y color (2y 3).

• Instale la platina del limitador de corriente de arran-

• Retire los tres puentes de fábrica (2, líneas de pun-
tos).
• Conecte la línea de control suministrada del limitador
a la platina principal soltando para ello las bridas para
tener más cable (3).
• Conecte las líneas de entrada y salida del limitador de
corriente de arranque con los bornes de conexión su-
ministrados en concordancia de fase y color (2y 4).

Peligro de sobrecalentamiento.
Las líneas de control y conexión no deben
guiarse por encima de la platina principal ni de
la del limitador de corriente de arranque.
Coloque la línea de control lateralmente por el
soporte a la platina principal y las líneas de co-
nexión por las dos guías inferiores desde abajo
y de nuevo a los bornes de conexión.

5 Reciclaje y eliminación de residuos
Tanto el limitador de corriente de arranque VWZ 30/2
de Vaillant como su embalaje de transporte se compo-
nen en su mayor parte de materiales reciclables.
5.1 Aparato
Si el aparato de Vaillant está marcado con
este símbolo, no puede eliminarse con la ba-
sura doméstica cuando termine su vida útil.
Elimine el aparato y los accesorios según es-
tablezcan las leyes locales vigentes.
Debido a que a este aparato no le afecta la ley sobre
utilización, retirada y eliminación no contaminante de
aparatos eléctricos y electrónicos, no se considera la re-
tirada gratuita por parte de los servicios de recogida
municipales.
5.2 Embalaje
Asegúrese de que el embalaje de transporte se elimina
según la legislación vigente.
6 Garantía y Servicio de atención al
cliente
6.1 Garantía del fabricante
- De acuerdo con lo establecido en la Ley 23/2003 de
10 de julio de Garantías en la Venta de Bienes de Con-
sumo, Vaillant se hace responsable de las faltas de
conformidad que se manifiesten en un plazo de dos
años desde la entrega.
- La garantía de los repuestos tiene una duración de
dos años desde la fecha de entrega del aparato.
- Esta garantía es válida exclusivamente dentro del te-
rritorio español.
Condiciones de garantía
Salvo prueba en contrario, se entenderá que los bienes
son conformes y aptos para la finalidad con la que se
adquieren, siempre y cuando se cumplan las siguientes
condiciones:
1º El aparato garantizado deberá corresponder a los
aparatos que el fabricante diseña expresamente para
España, y deberá ser instalado en España.
2º Todas las posibles reparaciones deberán ser efectua-
das exclusivamente por nuestro Servicio Técnico Ofi-
cial.
3º Los repuestos que se emplearán para la sustitución
de piezas serán los determinados por nuestro Servi-
cio Técnico Oficial, y en todos los casos serán origi-
nales Vaillant.
4º Para la plena eficacia de la garantía, será imprescin-
dible que esté anotada la fecha de compra y validada
mediante el sello y firma del establecimiento que
realizó la venta.
5º El consumidor debe informar a Vaillant de la falta de
conformidad del bien, en un plazo inferior a dos
meses desde que tuvo conocimiento de la misma.
La garantía excluye expresamente averías producidas
por:
a) Uso inadecuado del bien, o no seguimiento del proce-
dimiento de instalación y mantenimiento, descrito en
el libro de instrucciones y demás documentación fa-
cilitada a tal efecto.
b) Sobrecarga de cualquier índole.
c) Manipulación de los equipos por personas no autori-
zadas.

2 Description of the device
2.1 Intended use
Vaillant geoTHERM heat pumps are state-of-the-art ap-
pliances which have been constructed in accordance
with recognised safety regulations. However, there is a
risk of death or serious injury to the user or third par-
ties or of damage to the device and other property in
the event of improper use or use for which it is not in-
tended.
This unit is not intended for use by persons (including
children) having limited physical, sensory or mental ca-
pacities or who have inadequate experience and/or
knowledge, unless supervised by a person responsible
for their safety or who has been given instructions from
them as to how to operate the unit.
Children must be watched to ensure that they do not
play with the unit.
The start-up current limiter is intended exclusively for
incorporation into heat pumps VWL 7C/9C, VWS/VWW
61/2, 81/2, 101/2, 141/2, 171/2, 62/2, 82/2, 102/2 and VWS
63/2, 83/2, 103/2, 64/2, 84/2, 104/2. Any other or addi-
tional use is considered to be improper. The manufac-
turer or supplier is not liable for any resulting damage.
The user alone bears the risk.
Intended use includes the observance of the contents of
the installation manual for the limiter.

Any improper use is forbidden!
The appliances must be installed by a qualified heating
engineer, who is responsible for adhering to the existing
regulations, rules and directives.
2.2 Scope of supply
The material supplied consists of:
– Start-up current limiter PCB with wiring harness
– Installation manual

3.1 Safety instructions
The installation of the unit may only be undertaken by a
recognised specialist, who will be responsible for
adhering to the existing standards and regulations. He
will also be responsible for proper installation and
commissioning. Take note of the safety information in
this ma-nual when installing the equipment!

Always switch off all power sources before car-
rying out electrical installation work. Make sure
that they are secured against inadvertent
switching on again.

The electrical installation may only be carried
out by a recognised specialist company.
3.2 General requirements
3.2.1 Preliminary remarks for room sealed appli-
ances
This appliance should only be installed in conjunction
with either a Vaillant flue system or an alternative
approved system (details of flue approval
categories can be found in the technical section of the
installation manual).
Install the flue system as detailed in the separate flue
installation instructions supplied with this boiler.
3.2.2 Related documents
The installation of the boiler must be in accordance with
the relevant requirements of Gas Safety (Installation
and Use) Regulations 1998, Health and Safety Document
No. 635 (The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989),
BS7671 (IEE Wiring Regulations) and the Water Supply
(Water Fitting) Regulations 1999, or The Water Bylaws
2000 (Scotland). It should also be in accordance with
the relevant requirements of the Local Authority,
Building Regulations, The Building Regulations
(Scotland), The Building Regulations (Northern Ireland)
and the relevant recommendations of the following Brit-
ish Standards:
– BS 6700: Services supplying water for domestic use
within buildings and their curtilages.
– BS 6798: Specification for installation of gas fired
boilers not exceeding 60 kW input.
– BS 6891: Specification for installation of low pressure
gas pipework up to 28 mm (R1) in domestic premises
(2nd family gas).
– BS 7593: Treatment of water in domestic hot water
central heating systems.

4 Installation
4.1 Connecting the start-up current limiter
(for VWL 7C/9C)
• Fit the start-up current limiter PCB on to the electrical
installation panel in the control box (1) by clipping the
bottom of the PCB into the retainers provided and
screwing it at the top.
• Remove the three factory-fitted jumpers (2, dashed
lines).
• Connect the accompanying control cable from the
current limiter to the main PCB (3and 4).
• Connect the input and output terminals of the current
limiter with the accompanying cables, paying atten-
tion to the correct phase and colour (2and 3).

4.2 Connecting the start-up current limiter

• Fit the start-up current limiter PCB underneath the
electrical installation panel (1) by clipping the PCB into
the retainers provided.

run over either the main PCB or the current
limiter PCB. Run the control cable along the
side through the cable clips to the main PCB,
and the connecting cables out through the two
lower cable feedthroughs and back in to the
connection terminals.

5 Recycling and disposal
Both the Vaillant VWZ 30/2 Start-up Current Limiter
and its associated transport packaging consist predomi-
nantly of raw materials that can be recycled.
5.1 Appliance
If your heat pump is identified with this sym-
bol, it does not belong with your household
waste at the end of its useful life. In this case,
make sure that the Vaillant appliance and any
accessories present are properly disposed of
at the end of their useful life.
As this Vaillant appliance is not covered by the law re-
garding the marketing, return and environmentally
friendly disposal of electrical and electronic equipment
(ElektroG in Germany), free disposal at a municipal
collection point is not provided.
5.2 Packaging
Make sure that the transport packaging is handed over
to a proper disposal organisation.
6 Warranty and customer service
6.1 Vaillant warranty
Vaillant provide a full parts and labour warranty for this
appliance.
The appliance must be installed by a suitably competent
person in accordance with the Gas Safety (Installation
and Use) Regulations 1998, and the manufacturer’s
instructions. In the UK ‘CORGI’ registered installers un-
dertake the work in compliance with safe and satisfacto-
ry standards.
All unvented domestic hot water cylinders must be
installed by a competent person to the prevailing
building regulations at the time of installation (G3).
Terms and conditions apply to the warranty, details of
which can be found on the warranty registration card in-
cluded with this appliance.
Failure to install and commission this appliance in com-
pliance with the manufacturer’s instructions may invali-
date the warranty (this does not affect the customer’s
statutory rights).
6.2 Vaillant Service

that arrangements are made for a Maintenance Agree-
