INTRODUCTION
The VIP-9894-IC is an InformaCast compliant
Vandal Resistant IP Handsfree Emergency Call
Station to provide communication to multiple
answer locations, i.e. emergency assistance,
general assistance, information, directions and
public accessible recorded information.
InformaCast capability is available on the first Call
button, with the additional buttons (on multi-button
models) available for SIP or Valcom protocol
communications. Pressing a Call button on the IP
emergency phone initiates a call to its programmed
destination. At the time of activation, a call status
LED begins to flash. When the call is answered
the call status LED remains “ON”. When the called
party terminates the call, the LED is extinguished
and the connection is released automatically.

Ordering Information
The VIP-9894 is available with 1, 2, 3, or 4 Call
Buttons and in the following enclosure finishes:
(-Y) Safety Yellow (-G) Light Gray
(-B) Safety Blue (-SS) Stainless SteeL
All models feature a brushed stainless steel
faceplate.
When ordering the VIP-9894, specify the number
of Call Buttons required and the enclosure finish as
“VIP-9894-(Buttons)-(Finish)-IC”.
Examples: For a VIP-9894 with 3 Call Buttons in
Light Gray finish, the full part number is
“VIP-9894-3-G-IC”. A 4 Button stainless steel
model would be “VIP-9894-4-SS-IC”.

This equipment has been tested and found to

INSTALLATION
1. Remove phone faceplate retaining screws.
2. Mount backbox using appropriate hardware.
(See Figure 1).
3. Connect RJ-45 connector from network to jack
mounted on Printed Circuit Board. Power over
Ethernet (PoE) is required. If PoE is not
available, a power injector may be used.
4. Using the enclosed security hex driver and
security screws install phone faceplate onto
enclosure.

obsolete outlet.

10.Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience
receptacles and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
11.Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.

SETUP
The VIP-9894-IC will automatically acquire an IP
address (using DHCP) and attempt to connect to
the InformaCast server when connected to the
network and powered up. Information specific to
your application will need to be programmed into
the InformaCast server. Refer to the InformaCast
documentation for further information. Multi-button
models will require additional programming using
the VIP-102B IP Solutions Setup Tool. Download
the latest version of the free IP Solutions Setup
Tool from the Valcom web site at
www.valcom.com/vipsetuptool

Assistance in troubleshooting is available from the
factory. Call (540) 563-2000 and press 1 for
Valcom Technical Support or visit our website at
www.valcom.com.
Valcom, Inc. equipment is not field repairable.

Should repairs be necessary, attach a tag to the
unit clearly stating company name, address, phone
number, contact person, and the nature of the
problem.
