1Safety Notice
NOTICE
Please read these instructions carefully and review the electrical diagram and the material in
order to become familiar with the control box before trying to install, operate, repair or perform
any maintenance. The objective of the special messages which you will find throughout this
document or on the box is to warn you against potential risks and to draw your attention to
information which may clarify or simplify a procedure.
IMPORTANT NOTE
The installation, use, repair or maintenance of electrical equipment should only be performed
by qualified personnel. A qualified individual is a person with the skills and knowledge in the
field of construction, operation and installation of electrical equipment and who has followed
the appropriate safety training which allows them to identify and avoid the risks involved.
US Farm System/ Valmetal Automation does not accept any liability regarding the consequences
of using this material.

System Information
Read these guidelines carefully before executing any procedure with this system.
DANGER
RISK OF ELECTROCUTION, EXPLOSION OR ELECTRIC ARC
•Only certain individuals are authorized to work on and with this system. They must be
adequately trained, know and understand the contents of this manual and of any
other relevant documents pertaining to the product and must have been trained in
the field of safety in order to identify and avoid risks. The installation, adjustments,
repair and maintenance must be performed by qualified personnel.
•The installing electrician is obliged to guarantee compliance with local and national
regulation requirements regarding grounding of all equipment.
•Many of the components inside the box operate on mains voltage. Do not touch
them.
•Only use the tools and measurement equipment which have been appropriately
calibrated and electrically isolated.
•Do not touch the terminal screws or unshielded components when voltage is on.
•The motor generates voltage as the shaft turns. Before executing any type of work on
the system, block the motor shaft to avoid rotation.
•AC voltage may couple with the voltage to unused conductors in the motor cable.
Isolate both ends of the unused conductors of the motor cable.
•Before working inside the box:
oDisconnect any potentially active supply.
oAffix a label with the legend Do Not Start on every switch connected to the
system.
oBlock all switches in the open position.
•Before turning on the power on the box:
oCheck that the work is completed and that the installation does not pose any
danger.
oIf the power input terminals and the output motor terminals have been
grounded and short-circuited, remove the grounding and the short circuits on
the power input terminals and the output motor terminals.
oCheck that all the equipment is correctly grounded.
oCheck that all protective equipment is installed and/or closed.
Failure to comply with these instructions may result in death or serious injuries.

The system may move unexpectedly.
Warning
Unexpected operation of the equipment
•Connect the equipment carefully, according to the EMC standards.
•Do not operate the device with unknown or inappropriate adjustments or data.
•Perform a complete commissioning test.
Failure to comply with these instructions may result in bodily harm or material damages.
Damaged devices or accessories may result in electrocution or in the unexpected operation of
the equipment.
DANGER
ELECTROCUTION OR UNEXPECTED OPERATION OF THE EQUIPMENT
•Do not operate damaged devices or accessories.
Failure to comply with these instructions may result in death or serious injuries.
Contact Pro-Line if you notice any damage.
NOTICE
DESTRUCTION DUE TO INCORRECT MAINS VOLTAGE
•Before tuning on the power and configuring the product, verify that it complies with
the mains voltage used.
Failure to comply with these instructions may result in material damages.
This equipment has been designed to operate in an area with no safety risks. Only install this
equipment in areas which do not present any safety risks.

2Installation and Maintenance
2.1 Instructions about Wiring
Please refer to the electric diagram included in the control box for information regarding the
system's wiring.
DANGER
•The electrical installation and any other work performed on the electrical equipment
must be executed by an authorized electrician who must comply with the applicable
rules and regulations and with the wiring diagrams provided.
•Any electrical modification to the system not executed or supervised by US Farm
System/Valmetal Automation is neither recommended nor covered by the technical
support and invalidates the product warranty.
Emergency Stop
Each control panel in the system has its own emergency stop button.

2.2 Maintenance
Turn off the main switch of the control unit to disable the complete power supply system.
DANGER
•Always disconnect the main power supply and, if present, block the main switch out
of position before installing, inspecting, adjusting, maintaining or servicing the
equipment. Wait until all mobile pieces have come to a halt and that the capacitor is
discharged.
NOTE: If you need to open a control box other than the main one, the power supply to that box
must also be unplugged.
Automatic Start
Warning
•The system has been designed for automatic operation and the system's mechanical
parts may cause unexpected movements at any time with or without warning. Stay
away from the areas where an accident risk is indicated.
•Always disconnect the main power supply and, if present, block the main switch out
of position before installing, inspecting, adjusting, maintaining or servicing the
equipment.
Caution
•Never clean the equipment with high pressure or other water jet equipment. The
equipment is sensitive and may be destroyed by the high pressure.
Always keep the boxes closed.
Always keep safety devices in place and operational when the main switch is connected.
The system must not be used unless the electrical installations and the safety devices are
complete and unaltered.

NOTE: US Farm System/ Valmetal Automation accept no responsibility for damages caused by
faulty installation, modification, operation or by inappropriate or inadequate care and
maintenance.
NOTE: US Farm System/ Valmetal Automation accepts no responsibility for any damage caused
by freezing. The owner/user must take the necessary measures to ensure that the equipment is
not subjected to temperature extremes, see section 4.3.

The identification plate is located on the backside of the box's door.
The identification plate contains the following data:
1. Name, address and telephone number of the manufacturer

5I/O addressing
To assign input and output in the program you will need to go in schematic and look up for the
desired tag.
If you look in the schematic and you want to look to this input:
The IO Board # is 0and input # is 10. Input number in the program
will be 10.
The IO Board # is 1and input # is 01. Input number in the
program will be 101.
If you look in the schematic and you want to look to this output:
The IO Board # is 0and output # is 13. Output number in the
program will be 13.
The IO Board # is 1and output # is 00. Output number in the
program will be 100.
In the corner of the IO tag, you will see the Card Pin Number. The Card Pin Number will help you
find the cable you need in the card.
If there is a change of output address, make sure that the new equipment address is not used in
another equipment. Otherwise, the output may react strangely (Flash, remains OFF, etc.).
You need to refer to the electrical schematic to know the address of the equipment:

6Navigator
The navigation bar is found at the top of the page and is always displayed. Allowing a faster and
easier navigation between the different menus. Here is a short description of each icon.
Parameter Button: This button is used to access time, email, general setup, etc.
See Section 7.
Alarm Button: This button is used to access alarm, maintenance and event.
See Section 8.
Separator Button: This button is used to access equipment, sequence, level.
See Section 9.
Autowasher: This button is used to access autowasher parameter.
See Section 10.

7Parameter
7.1 Technician Mode
To be able to access advanced parameter, enter the technician password in the TECHNICIAN
ACCESS box.
Once you are in technician mode, you will have 15 minutes before having to re-enter the
password.

7.2 Parameter
7.2.1 Langage
You have 2 choice of language. English and
French. Press on the desired language to
changed it.
7.2.2 Reset
PLC input address for the Reset button on
the front of the panel.
7.2.3 Power Failure
PLC input address for the UPS power failure
input.

7.2.4 Autowasher
Number of autowasher in the system. The autowasher
icon will appear if there is at least 1 autowasher.
Maximum 5 autowasher.
7.2.5 Unloading
Enable or disable the unloading section. The icon will
appear if the option is enabled. Use with Valmetal Belt
feeder.
7.2.6 Buzzer
PLC output address for the buzzer. Enable or disable
the buzzer if the system as an active alarm.
7.2.7 Unit
Measuring unit for the distribution conveyor. Press to
switch in metric.
7.2.8 Change Node
In that box, you can change the node number for the
smart overload. Enter the Actual Node (unprogrammed
overload node generally set at 1) and the Desired Node
(Master: 2-19, Remote-1: 20-29, Remote-2: 30-39,
Remote-3: 40-49, Remote-4: 50-59, Remote-5: 60-69)
then press send. If there is more than one
unprogrammed overload, you will need to plug it one at
a time. Contact Valmetal Automation technician for
this.
The node transfer was successful. The overload will need a power cycle to finish the
programming.
The node transfer was NOT successful. Make sure that the node respects the condition and
that overload is powered on.

7.2.9 Remote I/O
In that box, you can program the remote panel
and assign a name. The emplacement is the card
number where the input of the Emergency Stop
is. The emergency stop and the alarm light will be
automatically programmed when the
emplacement number is put in.
Example: The input address of the Emergency Stop in the RECEPTION PIT (REMOTE-1) is 200,
meaning that the EMPLACEMENT number is 2. The input address of the Emergency Stop in the
TRANSFER PIT (REMOTE-2) is 300,meaning that the EMPLACEMENT number is 3.

8Alarm
In that section, you will have access to the custom alarm programming and the event
programming.
8.1 Custom Alarm
In that section you will be able to program digital input alarm, analog input alarm and output
alarm. In technician mode, press on the ALARM PARAMETER sec
8.1.1 Digital Input Alarm
You have 5 programmable digital input alarm.
ADD: Address of the digital input. See section 5.
DESCRIPTION: Message that will appear if the alarm is active.
SEQUENCE: If there is a sequence selected, the alarm will only affect the selected sequence. If it
is left at none, the alarm will stop everything.
NO/NC: Normally open or normally closed contact.

8.1.2 Analog Input Alarm
You have 5 programmable analog input alarm. Mainly use to create alarm on level
EQUIPMENT: Level use to generate the alarm.
LEVEL %: Target point.
HIGH/LOW: Higher or lower than the target point.
DESCRIPTION: Message that will appear if the alarm is active.
SEQUENCE: If there is a sequence selected, the alarm will only affect the selected sequence. If it
is left at none, the alarm will stop everything.
8.1.3 Output Alarm
You have 5 programmable output to send a signal on any alarm or if a specific sequence is in
alarm.
ADD: Address of the digital output. See section 5.
SEQUENCE: If there is a sequence selected, the output will be activated if the selected sequence
is in alarm. If it is left at none, any alarm will activate the output.
