Description
The digital set-top box is a device that allows you to access
digital TV and radio channels on your TV.

• The indicator lights green when the
device is switched on.

Use
Installing the batteries
1. Remove the cover from the battery compartment.
2. Insert the batteries into the battery compartment.
Make sure that the battery polarity (+/-) matches the
polarity markings inside the battery compartment.
3. Place the cover onto the battery compartment.
First-time installation
1. Make sure that all connections are correct. Refer to
the section “Connection scheme“.
2. Switch on the TV.
3. Switch on the device.
4. If you use the device for the rst time or if you have
restored the factory settings, the main menu will
appear on the TV screen:
5. “OSD Language”: Press the right/left buttons to
select a language.
“Country”: Press the right/left buttons to select a
country.
“Channel Search”: Press the right button or the OK
button to start automatic channel search.
6. Press the OK button to conrm.
7. When the automatic channel search is completed,
you are ready to watch TV or listen to the radio.
Menu
“Program”
1. Select the menu item.
2. Adjust the setting.
3. Press the OK button.
4. Press the exit button to exit the
menu.
“Program Edit”
You cannot access the menu without entering the correct password.
1. Enter the password:“000000”.
2. Press the OK button.
To move a programme:
1. Select the programme.
2. Press the red button.
3. Move the programme.
4. Press the OK button.
To skip a programme:
1. Select the programme.
2. Press the green button.
3. To cancel, press the green button
again.
4. Press the exit button to conrm
and exit the menu.
To lock a programme:
1. Select the programme.
2. Press the yellow button.
3. To cancel, press the yellow
button again.
4. Press the exit button to conrm
and exit the menu.
5. To view the programme, enter
the password and press the OK
button.
To delete a programme:
1. Select the programme.
2. Press the blue button.
A message will appear.
3. Press the OK button.
To create a shortlist of favourite
programme:
1. Select the programme.
2. Press the favourite button.
3. To cancel, press the favourite
button again.
4. Press the exit button to conrm
and exit the menu.
To view the programme:
1. Press the favourite button.
2. Select the programme.
3. Press the OK button.
To rename a programme:
1. Select the programme.
2. Press the recall button.
3. Enter the name.
4. Press the OK button.
5. To cancel, press the exit button.

“Programme Guide”
“EPG“ stands for“Electronic Programme Guide“. The electronic programme guide
is an on-screen TV and radio guide that shows scheduled programmes seven days
in advance for every tuned channel.
1. Press the EPG button.
2. Select the programme.
3. Press the blue button to move a
page up.
4. Press the yellow button to move
a page down.
“Sort”
Sort the channels:
• “LCN”: Ascending order.
• “Name”: Alphabetical order.
• “Service ID”: According to the station.
“LCN”
“LCN“ stands for“Logical Channel Number“.
• “LCN”: Select “On”or “O”.
“Picture”
Adjust the photo settings:
1. Select the menu item.
2. Adjust the setting.
3. Press the OK button.
4. Press the exit button to exit the
menu.
“Aspect Ratio”: proportional
relationship between the width and
the height of an image.
Options:
• “4:3 Pan&Scan”
• “4:3 Letter Box”
• “4:3 Full”
• “16:9 Widescreen”
• “16:9 Pillar Box”
• “16:9 Pan&Scan”
• “Auto”
“Resolution”: number of distinct
pixels in each dimension that can be
displayed on the screen.
Options:
• NTSC:“480i” /“480p”.
• PAL: “576i”/ “576p”.
• NTSC/PAL: “720p” /“1080i” /“1080p”
“TV Format”: TV encoding system.
• “NTSC”
• “PAL”
“Video Output”: video output.
• “CVBS”: CVBS output
• “RGB“: RGB output
“Standby loop through”:
loop-through for a second receiver
when the device is in standby mode.
• “On”: Enable the function.
• “O“: Disable the function.
“Channel Search”
Adjust the settings to search a
channel:
1. Select the menu item.
2. Press the OK button.
3. Press the exit button to exit the
menu.
“Auto Search”: Search and install all
channels automatically. The option
overwrites all present channels.
• Press the OK button to start
searching.
• Press the exit button to cancel.
“Manual Search”: Search and install all
channels manually. The option adds
new channels without changing the
current channel list.
• Press the OK button to start
searching. If a channel is found, it
will be added to the channel list.
“Country”: Select a country.
“Antenna Power”: Select “On” or“O”.
“Time”
Adjust the time settings:
1. Select the menu item.
2. Adjust the setting.
3. Press the OK button.
4. Press the exit button to exit the
menu.
“Time Oset”: Select “Auto”or
“Manual” to adjust the GMT oset.
“Country Region”: If“Time Oset” is
set to“Auto“, select a region.
“Time Zone”: If“Time Oset” is set to
“Manual“, select a time zone oset.
“Auto Standby”: Select “On” or“O”.
Note: If the setting is set to“On”, the
device will go to sleep mode after
3hours. Press the on/standby button
to exit the sleep mode.
“Option”
Adjust the option settings:
1. Select the menu item.
2. Adjust the setting.
3. Press the OK button.
4. Press the exit button to exit the
menu.
“OSD Language”: Select the OSD
language.
“Subtitle Language”: Select the
subtitle language.
“Audio Language”: Select the audio
language.
“Digital Audio”: Select the digital
audio output mode.

“System”
Adjust the system settings:
1. Select the menu item.
2. Adjust the setting.
3. Press the OK button.
4. Press the exit button to exit the
menu.
“Parental Guidance”: Restrict access to
channels that are unsuitable for
children. To lock the channel, enter
the password.
“Set Password”: Change the password
for locked programs. Enter the old
password, followed by the new
password. To conrm, enter the new
password again.
“Factory Default”: Enter the password
and press the OK button to return to
the factory settings. All channels and
settings will be deleted.
“Information”: View information
regarding the model, the hardware
and the software.
“Software Update”:
• Enable or disable the Over Air
Download (OAD) function.
• Upgrade the software via USB.
“USB”
Adjust the USB settings:
1. Select the menu item.
2. Adjust the setting.
3. Press the OK button.
4. Press the exit button to exit the
menu.
“Photo Congure”:
• “Slide Time”: Set the slide show
interval.
• “Slide Mode”: Set the slide show
eect.
• “Aspect Ratio”: Display the photo
with its original aspect ratio.
• “Discard”: Display the photo in
full-screen mode.
“Movie Congure”:
• “Aspect Ratio”:
-“Keep“: Play the movie with its
original aspect ratio.
-“Discard“: Play the movie in
full-screen mode.
• “Subtitle Specic”:
“Small“ /“Normal“ / “Big“: Display
subtitles in small mode, normal
mode or large mode.
• “Subtitle BG”:
-“White“ /“Transparent“ /“Gray“ /
“YellowGreen“: Display subtitles in
white, transparent, grey or
yellow-green background.
• “Subtitle FontColor”:
-“Red“ / “Blue“ /“Green“ /“White“ /
“Black“: Display subtitles in red,
blue, green, white or black font.
“PVR Congure”:
• “Record Device”: Select the disk for
recording.
• “Format”: Format the selected disk.
“Multimedia”
“Multimedia”:
1. Press the up/down buttons to
select dierent les.
2. Press the OK button.
3. Use the buttons on the remote
control to play the multimedia.
Colour buttons:
1. When the picture is shown, press
the red button in zoom mode to
switch between preview and
fullscreen.
2. Press the green mode to rename
the PVR le on the PVR playback
page.
3. Press the yellow mode to delete
the PVR le on the PVR playback
page.
4. Press the blue button to enter grid
show mode.
PVR function
Preparation
1. Make sure that all previous data on the USB device is backed up to prevent
loss of data.
2. Before starting PVR recording, make sure that the device is switched o
before you insert a USB device with a minimum of 4 GB of free space.
3. Make sure the USB device is correctly inserted to prevent damage to the USB
port.
4. You can record only one programme at a time.
5. To prepare the USB device, follow “PVR Congure” in the“USB” menu.
Recording
1. Select the programme.
2. Press the record button to start recording. The screen briey shows the
message“Enter record waiting”.
3. Press the info button once to display the record time indicator. Press the info
button twice for further information.
4. Press the stop button to stop recording.
5. Press the OK button to cancel recording.
6. Press the exit button to continue recording.
Playback
1. Press the menu button.
2. Select “USB”. Press the OK button.
3. Select “Multimedia”. Press the OK button.
4. Select “PVR”. Press the OK button. The recorded programmes are listed in the
HBPVR folder.
5. Select the programme. Press the OK button.
6. To preview, delete or rename a le, follow the on-screen instructions.
7. To delete a le, press the yellow button. Press the OK button.
Note: You cannot delete or rename a le in playback mode.
8. To move up in the menu, press the exit button.
EPG Schedule Timer
1. Press the EPG button to display the electronic program guide (EPG).
2. Select the programme. Press the OK button.
3. Check the“Event add” information on screen.
4. Press the down button to select the mode.
5. Press the right button to select “View” or“Record”.
“View“: An on-screen message will alert you at the time of the scheduled
programme. If necessary, you can change the channel.
“Record”: To record programmes at a later preset time. An on-screen message will
alert you when the recording is due to start. Note: You cannot change the channel
without stopping recording.
Book list
The book list function shows a schedule with all programmed recordings.
1. To open the book list directly when you are watching a channel, press the
blue button.

Cleaning and maintenance
Warning!
• Before cleaning or maintenance, switch o the device,
remove the mains plug from the wall socket and wait
until the device has cooled down.
• Do not use cleaning solvents or abrasives.
• Do not clean the inside of the device.
• Do not attempt to repair the device. If the device does
not operate correctly, replace it with a new device.
• Clean the outside of the device using a soft, damp
cloth. Thoroughly dry the outside of the device with a
clean, dry cloth.

Troubleshooting
If you cannot solve the problem, contact your dealer.
Problem Possible cause Solution
No sound.
No or incorrect audio cable connection. Connect the audio cable correctly.
The sound is muted. Unmute the sound.
The device plays an incorrect sound track. Change the sound track.
No picture.
The mains plug is not inserted into the wall socket. Insert the mains plug into the wall socket.
The device is switched o. Switch on the device.
The image stops or looks like mosaic. The signal is too weak. Strengthen the signal.
The screen shows the message“No
Signal”.
The antenna cable is not connected. Connect the antenna cable.
Incorrect settings. Change the settings.
The remote control does not work.
The batteries are low. Replace the batteries.
The remote control is not pointing to the device. Point the remote control to the device.
Make sure that nothing blocks the front panel.

Safety
General safety
• Read the manual carefully before use. Keep the manual
for future reference.
• Only use the device for its intended purposes. Do not
use the device for other purposes than described in the
manual.
• Do not use the device if any part is damaged or
defective. If the device is damaged or defective, replace
the device immediately.
• Do not expose the device to water or moisture.
• Do not expose the device to sunlight.
• Keep the device away from heat sources.
• Do not block the ventilation openings.
Electrical safety
• To reduce risk of electric shock, this product should
only be opened by an authorized technician when
service is required.
• Disconnect the product from the mains and other
equipment if a problem should occur.
• Do not use the device if the mains cable or mains plug
is damaged or defective. If the mains cable or mains
plug is damaged or defective, it must be replaced by
the manufacturer or an authorised repair agent.
• Before use, always check that the mains voltage is the
same as the voltage on the rating plate of the device.
• Make sure that the mains cable cannot become
entangled.
• Make sure that the mains cable does not hang over the
edge of a worktop and cannot be caught accidentally
or tripped over.
• Do not touch the device during thunderstorms to
avoid electric shocks.
• Switch o the device when it will not be used for a long
period.
Battery safety
• Use only the batteries mentioned in the manual.
• Do not use old and new batteries together.
• Do not use batteries of dierent types or brands.
• Do not install batteries in reverse polarity.
• Do not short-circuit or disassemble the batteries.

• Batteries are prone to leakage when fully discharged.
To avoid damage to the product, remove the batteries
when leaving the product unattended for longer

Kanaal +/- knoppen
• Druk op de knoppen om naar het
volgende of het vorige kanaal te
gaan.
• Druk op de knoppen om omhoog
of omlaag in het menu te gaan.
6. OK-knop
• Druk op de knop om de selectie
te bevestigen.
• Druk op de knop om de ingevoerde
waarde te bevestigen.
• Druk op de knop om een keuzelijst
te openen.
7. TV/Radio-knop
• Druk op de knop om tussen de
TV-modus en de radiomodus te
schakelen.
8. Recall-knop • Druk op de knop om tussen de
laatste twee kanalen te schakelen.
9. Goto-knop
• Druk op de knop om de afspeeltijd
van media te selecteren.
10. Favorietenknop • Druk op de knop om het
favorietenmenu weer te geven.
11. Menuknop • Druk op de knop om het menu te
openen.
12. Exit-knop
• Druk op de knop om één niveau
in het menu omhoog te gaan.
• Druk op de knop om het menu te
verlaten.
13. EPG-knop
• Druk op de knop om de
elektronische programmagids
(EPG) weer te geven.
14. Audioknop • Druk op de knop om de audiotaal
of de audiomodus te selecteren.
15. Infoknop
• Druk op de knop om informatie
voor het huidige kanaal weer te
geven.
16. Teletekstknop • Druk op de knop om naar de
teletekstmodus te gaan.
17. Ondertitelingsknop • Druk op de knop om naar de
ondertitelingsmodus te gaan.
18. Afspeelknop • Druk op de knop om het
programma af te spelen.
19. Pauzeknop • Druk op de knop om het
schermbeeld te pauzeren.
20. Stopknop • Druk op de knop om het
programma te stoppen.
21. Herhaalknop • Druk op de knop om naar de
herhaalmodus te gaan.
22. Knop voor snel vooruitspoelen • Druk op de knop om snel vooruit
te spoelen.
23. Knop voor snel terugspoelen • Druk op de knop om snel terug te
spoelen.
24. Knop voor vooruitspringen • Druk op de knop om vooruit te
springen.
25. Knop voor terugspringen • Druk op de knop om terug te
springen.
26. Kleurknoppen
• Druk op de knoppen om in de
teletekstmodus verschillende
functies te bedienen.
27. Opnameknop • Druk op de knop om het
programma op te nemen.
28. Lijstknop
• Druk op de knop om de lijst met
opgenomen programma's weer
te geven.

Gebruik
De batterijen installeren
1. Verwijder het deksel van het batterijcompartiment.
2. Plaats de batterijen in het batterijcompartiment.
Zorg ervoor dat de polariteit van de batterijen
overeenkomt met de polariteitsmarkeringen in het
batterijcompartiment.
3. Plaats het deksel op het batterijcompartiment.
Eerste installatie
1. Zorg ervoor dat alle aansluitingen juist zijn. Zie het
gedeelte“Aansluitschema”.
2. Schakel de TV in.
3. Schakel het apparaat in.
4. Indien u het apparaat voor de eerste keer gebruikt of
de fabrieksinstellingen heeft hersteld, verschijnt het
hoofdmenu op het TV-scherm:
5. “OSD Language”: Druk op de rechts/links-knoppen
om een taal te selecteren.
“Country”: Druk op de rechts/links-knoppen om een
land te selecteren.
“Channel Search”: Druk op de rechts-knop of de OK-knop
om het automatisch zoeken van kanalen te starten.
6. Druk op de OK-knop om te bevestigen.
7. Wanneer het automatisch zoeken van kanalen is
voltooid, bent u klaar om TV te kijken of naar de radio
luisteren.

“Program”
1. Selecteer het menu-item.
2. Pas de instelling aan.
3. Druk op de OK-knop.
4. Druk op de exit-knop om het
menu te verlaten.
“Program Edit”
U kunt het menu niet openen zonder het juiste wachtwoord in te voeren.
1. Voer het wachtwoord in:“000000”.
2. Druk op de OK-knop.
Een programma verplaatsen:
1. Selecteer het programma.
2. Druk op de rode knop.
3. Verplaats het programma.
4. Druk op de OK-knop.
Een programma overslaan:
1. Selecteer het programma.
2. Druk op de groene knop.
3. Druk nogmaals op de groene
knop om te annuleren.
4. Druk op de exit-knop om te
bevestigen en het menu te verlaten.
Een programma vergrendelen:
1. Selecteer het programma.
2. Druk op de gele knop.
3. Druk nogmaals op de gele knop
om te annuleren.
4. Druk op de exit-knop om te
bevestigen en het menu te verlaten.
5. Voer het wachtwoord in en druk
op de OK-knop om het programma
te bekijken.
Een programma wissen:
1. Selecteer het programma.
2. Druk op de blauwe knop.
Er verschijnt een melding.
3. Druk op de OK-knop.
Een shortlist van favoriete
programma's maken:
1. Selecteer het programma.
2. Druk op de favorietenknop.
3. Druk nogmaals op de favorietenknop
om te annuleren.

“Programme Guide”
“EPG“ staat voor“Elektronische programmagids“. De elektronische programmagids
is een TV/radio-gids op het scherm die voor ieder afgestemd kanaal zeven dagen
op voorhand de geplande programma's weergeeft.

PVR-functie
Voorbereiding
1. Zorg ervoor dat er een backup is gemaakt van alle eerdere gegevens op het
USB-apparaat om het verlies van gegevens te voorkomen.
2. Zorg er voor het starten van een PVR-opname voor dat het apparaat is
uitgeschakeld voordat u een USB-apparaat met een minimum van 4 GB vrije
ruimte plaatst.
3. Zorg ervoor dat het USB-apparaat juist is geplaatst om beschadiging van de
USB-poort te voorkomen.
4. U kunt slechts één programma tegelijk opnemen.
5. Volg "PVR Congure" in het menu "USB" om het USB-apparaat voor te bereiden.
Opnemen
1. Selecteer het programma.
2. Druk op de opnameknop om te starten met opnemen. Het scherm toont kort
de melding“Enter record waiting”.
3. Druk eenmaal op de infoknop om de opnametijdindicator weer te geven.
Druk tweemaal op de infoknop voor nadere informatie.
4. Druk op de stopknop om te stoppen met opnemen.
5. Druk op de OK-knop om het opnemen te annuleren.
6. Druk op de exit-knop om door te gaan met opnemen.
Afspelen
1. Druk op de menuknop.
2. Selecteer “USB”. Druk op de OK-knop.
3. Selecteer “Multimedia”. Druk op de OK-knop.
4. Selecteer “PVR”. Druk op de OK-knop. De opgenomen programma's worden
weergegeven in de HBPVR-map.
5. Selecteer het programma. Druk op de OK-knop.
6. Volg de instructies op het scherm om een bestand te previewen, te verwijderen

7. Druk op de gele knop om een bestand te verwijderen. Druk op de OK-knop.
Opmerking: U kunt geen bestand verwijderen of hernoemen in de afspeelmodus.
8. Druk op de exit-knop om in het menu omhoog te gaan.
EPG Schedule Timer
1. Druk op de EPG-knop om de elektronische programmagids (EPG) weer te geven.
2. Selecteer het programma. Druk op de OK-knop.
3. Controleer de“Event add”-informatie op het scherm.
4. Druk op de omlaag-knop om de modus te selecteren.
5. Druk op de rechts-knop om “View” of“Record”te selecteren.
“View“: U ziet een melding op het scherm op het tijdstip van het geplande
programma. U kunt indien nodig het kanaal wijzigen.
“Record”: Om programma's op een later vooraf ingesteld tijdstip op te nemen. U ziet
een melding op het scherm wanneer het opnemen op het punt staat te beginnen.
Opmerking: U kunt het kanaal niet wijzigen zonder te stoppen met opnemen.
Reserveringslijst
De reserveringslijstfunctie toont een lijst met alle geprogrammeerde opnames.
1. Druk op de blauwe knop om de reserveringslijst direct te openen wanneer u
een kanaal aan het kijken bent.

“Programme Guide”
“EPG“ steht für“Electronic Programme Guide“ (elektronischer Programmführer).
Beim elektronischen Programmführer handelt es sich um einen Bildschirm-TV-
und Radio-Führer, der die geplanten Programme für jeden eingestellten Kanal
sieben Tage im Voraus anzeigt.
1. Drücken Sie auf die EPG-Taste.
2. Wählen Sie das Programm.
