You’re minutes away from more great TV with your
new YouView+box.
Swapping boxes couldn’t be simpler. Follow How to
swap boxes in this guide to unplug the old and
connect the new.
When you’re up and running again, you can nd out
more about using your new box in the User Guide
that came with it.
Before you start
Your recordings won’t transfer on to your new box, so
make sure you’ve watched everything. Make a note on
Shows I like to record on the back of this guide so you
can schedule them again later.

How to replace your set-top box

Press for all your BT TV programmes and to download any subscriptions. There’s
something for everyone, including children’s shows, lms and music – all without ads.
2Press to open theYouView main menu
This button is your launch pad into the wonderful world of YouView, including easy
access to on-demand programmes, players, apps, your recordings, settings and more.
3Fine tune your viewing with HD
To watch in HD, press while watching a channel. If it’s available in HD, you’ll
see an option to Watch Now in HD. Freeview HD channels start at channel 101.
4Use your super-smart search tool
If you know what programme you’re looking for, press and start typing
using the number buttons on your remote.
5 FindwhattowatchusingtheYouViewGuideandlters
Press to see what’s on and scroll back to catch programmes you might
have missed. To quickly nd what you want, press the blue button, scroll
left or right to choose the category to lter by and then press .
6Move quickly through the YouView Guide
With one press of Por Pyou can jump up or down a page. With one press
of or , you can go forward or back 24 hours.

1Leave your Hub on and connected to the internet.
Then unplug the Aerial (A) cable from your existing set-top
box, leaving the other end in your aerial wall socket.
2Now unplug all other cables and put them and your now old
set-top box aside.
3Take your new set-top box and plug in the Aerial (A) and
your new Ethernet (E), Power (P) and HDMI (H) cables
as shown.
Use your new cables
This helps make sure you’ll be able to get all your channels.
No HDMI socket on your TV?
You need HDMI to watch in high denition (HD). If your TV
doesn’t have an HDMI socket, use a SCART cable (not supplied)
to watch in standard denition instead.
1Press on the top of the box to turn it on (the box’s power
light will turn blue). It’ll take a moment to start up. Now start
using your new remote control.
To control your TV using your new remote, follow the steps at
bt.com/help/remote
2When you see a welcome message on your TV, follow
its steps.
3When you’ve followed the steps, press on your new
remote. This will download your subscriptions.
Missing any channels?
Go to Settings then TV Signal and Quality then Re-tune
Channels.
Switch on
You can now reschedule your recordings so you don’t miss
your favourite shows.
1Press to open the YouView Guide.
2Find and select what you want to record.
3To record just one episode, press on your remote once.
You’ll see a red dot next to the programme.
4To record a series, press on your remote twice.
You’ll see two red dots next to the programme.
No lights on the front of
your box?
Check that the Power
switch on the back of your
YouView+box is on.
