After opening the carton, unpack your new tool and related parts & accessories. Please inspect
it carefully for any damage that may have occurred during transit. Please check it against the
photograph on carton. If any parts are missing, please call customer service at: 1-800-386-0191.
Do not operate this tool if damaged during shipment, handling or misuse. Do not
operate the tool until the parts have been replaced or the fault rectied. Failure to do
so may result in serious personal injury or property damage.
All damaged parts must be repaired or replaced as needed prior to operating this tool.
Check to see that all nuts, bolts and ttings are secure before putting this tool into service. If you

WORK AREA
1. Keep your work area clean and well lit. Cluttered benches and dark areas invite accidents.
2. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of ammable
liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
3. Keep bystanders, children, and visitors away while operating a power tool. Distractions can
cause you to lose control.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
1. Double insulated tools are equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This
plug will t in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not t fully in the outlet, reverse the
plug. If it still does not t, contact a qualied electrician to install a polarized outlet. Do not change
the plug in any way. Double insulation eliminates the need for the three wire grounded power cord
and grounded power supply system.
2. Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is grounded.
3. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase
the risk of electric shock.
4. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord to carry the tool or pull the plug from an outlet.
Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Replace damaged cords
immediately. Damaged cords increase the risk of electric shock.
5. When operating a power tool outside, use an outdoor extension cord marked “W-A” or “W”. These
cords are rated for outdoor use and reduce the risk of electric shock.
EXTENSION CORD SELECTION
Replace damaged extension cords immediately. Use of damaged extension cords can shock,
burn or electrocute. If an extension cord is used, make sure the conductor size is large enough to
prevent excessive voltage drop which will cause loss of power and possible motor damage. A table
of recommended extension cord sizes will be found in this section. This table is based on limiting
line voltage drop to 5 volts for 115 volts at 150% of rated amperes. If an extension cord is to be used
outdoors it must be marked with the sufx W-A or W following the cord type designation. For example
– SJTW-A to indicate it is acceptable for outdoor use.

PERSONAL SAFETY
1. Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating a power
tool. Do not use tool while tired or under the inuence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment of
inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
2. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Contain long hair. Keep your hair,
clothing, and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry, or long hair can be caught in
moving parts.
3. Avoid accidental starting. Be sure switch is OFF before plugging in. Carrying tools with your
nger on the switch or plugging in tools that have the switch ON invites accidents.
4. Remove adjusting keys or wrenches before turning the tool ON. A wrench or a key that is left
attached to a rotating part of the tool may result in personal injury.
5. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Proper footing and balance
enable better control of the tool in unexpected situations.
6. Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Dust mask, nonskid safety shoes, hard
hat, or hearing protection must be used for appropriate conditions.
TOOL USE AND CARE
1. Use clamps or other practical means to secure and support the workpiece to a stable
platform. Holding the work by hand or against your body is unstable and may lead to loss of control.
2. Do not force tool. Use the correct tool for your application. The correct tool will do the job
better and safer at the rate for which it is designed.
3. Do not use tool if switch does not turn it ON or OFF. A tool that cannot be controlled with the
switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
4. Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing
accessories, or storing the tool. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the
tool accidentally.
5. Store idle tools out of reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power
tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of
untrained users.
6. Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of
parts, and any other condition that may affect the tool’s operation. If damaged, have the tool
serviced before using. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained tools.
7. Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc., in accordance with these instructions
and in the manner intended for the particular type of power tool, taking into account the
working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different
from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.

Follow all local electrical and safety codes as well as in the United States, the National Electrical Codes (NEC) and the
Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA).
All installation operation, maintenance and repair procedures must be performed only by by qualied individuals.
The following hazards can occur during the normal use of this product:
ELECTRIC SHOCK CAN KILL!
Reduce the risk of death or serious injury from shock. Read, understand
and follow ALL safety instructions. Be sure that everyone who uses this
welding equipment or who is a bystander in the welding area understands
and follows ALL safety instructions as well.
• Do not touch live electrical parts. The electrode and work piece clamp are electrically “hot” when the welder is on.
• Wear dry, hole-free insulating gloves and body protection.
• Insulate yourself from work and ground using dry insulating mats or covers big enough to prevent physical contact
with the work piece or ground.
• Do not use in damp areas, if movement is con ned, or if there is a danger of falling.
• Disconnect input power before installing or servicing this equipment.
• Properly install and ground this equipment according to its Owner’s manual and national, state, and local codes.
• Always verify the supply ground – check and be sure that input power cord ground wire is properly connected to
ground terminal in disconnect box or that cord plug is connected to a properly grounded receptacle outlet.
• Frequently inspect input power cord for damage or bare wiring – replace cord immediately if damaged – bare
wiring can kill. Do not use worn, damaged, undersized, or poorly spliced cables.
• Turn off all equipment when not in use.
• Do not drape cables over your body.
• If earth grounding of the workpiece is required, ground it directly with a separate cable.
• Do not allow any part of the body to touch the electrode if you are in contact with the ground or grounded work
piece.
• Use only well-maintained equipment. Repair or replace damaged parts at once. Maintain unit according to manual.
• Always keep all panels and covers securely in place when operating the welder.
• Clamp work cable with good metal-to-metal contact to workpiece or worktable as near the weld as practical.
• Insulate work clamp when not connected to workpiece to prevent contact with any metal object.

FUMES AND GASES can be hazardous!
Welding produces fumes and gases that are hazardous to your health.
• Keep your head out of the fumes. Do not breathe the fumes.
• If inside, ventilate the area and/or use exhaust at the arc to remove welding fumes and
gases.
• If ventilation is poor, use an approved air-supplied respirator.
• Read the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs) and the manufacturer’s instructions for metals, consumables,
coatings, cleaners, and degreasers.
• Work in a con ned space only if it is well ventilated, or while wearing an air-supplied respirator. Always have a
trained watchperson nearby. Welding fumes and gases can displace air and lower the oxygen level causing injury
or death. Be sure the breathing air is safe.
• Do not weld in locations near degreasing cleaning, or spraying operations. The heat and rays of the arc can react
with vapors to form highly toxic and irritating gases.
• Do not weld on coated metals, such as galvanized, lead, or cadmium plated steel, unless the coating is removed
from the weld area, the area is well ventilated, and if necessary, while wearing an air-supplied respirator. The
coatings and any metals containing these elements can give off toxic fumes if welded.
ARC RAYS can burn eyes!
Never look at arc welding without proper eye protection. Arc rays from the welding process
produce intense visible and invisible (ultraviolet and infrared) rays that can burn eyes and
skin. Hot sparks y off from the weld and can burn eyes and skin.
Wear a welding helmet tted with a proper shade of lter to protect your face and eyes when welding or watching
(see ANSI Z49.1 and Z87.1 listed in Safety Standards).
• Wear approved safety glasses with side shields under your helmet.
• Use protective screens or barriers to protect others from ash and glare; warn others in the area not to watch the
arc.
• Wear protective clothing made from durable, ame resistant materials, leather welding gloves and full foot
protection.
WELDING can cause re or explosion!
Welding on closed containers, such as tanks, drums, or pipes, can cause them to explode.
Sparks can y off from the welding arc. The ying sparks, hot workpiece, and hot equipment
can cause res and burns. Accidental contact of electrode to metal objects can cause
sparks, explosion, overheating, or re. Check and be sure the area is safe before doing any
welding.
• Always keep a re extinguisher readily available and watch for re.
• Protect yourself and others from ying sparks and hot metal.
• Do not weld where ying sparks can strike ammable material.
• Remove all ammable materials from the welding area. If this is not possible, tightly cover them with approved
covers.
• Be alert that welding sparks and hot materials from welding can easily go through small cracks and openings to
adjacent areas.
• Be aware that welding on a ceiling, oor, bulkhead, or partition can cause re on the hidden side.
• Do not weld on closed containers such as tanks, drums, or pipes; unless they are properly prepared according to
AWS F4.1 standards
• Connect work cable to the work as close to the welding area as practical to prevent welding current from traveling
long, possibly unknown paths and causing electric shock and re hazards.
• Never use arc welder to thaw frozen pipes.
• Remove electrode from holder when not in use.
• Wear oil-free protective garments such as leather gloves, heavy shirt, cuff-less trousers, high shoes, and a cap.
• Remove any combustibles, such as butane lighters or matches, from your person before doing any welding.
FLYING METAL can injure eyes!
• Welding, chipping, wire brushing, and grinding cause sparks and ying metal. As welds
cool, they can throw off slag.
• Wear ANSI approved safety glasses with side shields under your welding helmet.

HOT PARTS can cause severe burns!
• Never touch hot parts bare handed.
• Allow adequate cooling period before touching work piece.
MAGNETIC FIELDS can affect pacemakers!
Electromagnetic elds (EMF) are generated around electric welding cables and welding
machines. These EMF’s can interfere with some pacemakers. Pacemaker wearers should
consult their doctor before going near arc welding, gouging, or spot welding operations. To
reduce magnetic elds in the workplace, use the following procedures:
• Keep cables close together by twisting or taping them.
• Arrange electrode and work piece cables to one side and away from the operator.
• Do not coil or drape cables around your body.
• Keep welding power source and cables as far away from operator as practical.
• Connect work clamp to workpiece as close to the weld as possible.
NOISE can damage hearing!
Noise from some processes or equipment can damage hearing.
• Wear approved ear protection if noise level is high.
FIRE OR EXPLOSION hazard.
• Do not install or place unit on, over, or near combustible surfaces.
• Do not install unit near ammables.
• Do not overload building wiring - be sure power supply system is properly sized, rated, and
protected to handle this unit.
OVERUSE can cause OVERHEATING
• Allow cooling period; follow rated duty cycle.
• Reduce current or reduce duty cycle before starting to weld again.
• Do not block or lter airow to unit.
MOVING PARTS can cause injury.
• Keep away from moving parts.
• Keep away from wire feed drive rollers.
• Keep all doors, panels, covers, and guards closed and secured in place.
WELDING WIRE can cause injury.
• Do not point gun toward any part of the body, other people, or any metal when
threading welding wire.
• Do not press gun trigger unnecessarily. When feeding welding wire through the gun,
the gun is electrically “live” and can cause electric shock.

ASSEMBLY AND SET UP
Always be sure that the tool is switched off and has been disconnected
from the power source before making any adjustments or performing any
maintenance or preparation procedures.
WARNING: There are certain applications for which this tool was designed. Star Asia-USA,
LLC strongly recommends that this tool NOT be modied and/or used for any application
other than for which it was designed. If you have any questions relative to its application DO NOT

Acceptable Working Environment:
Temperature during use: - 10˚C to + 40˚C Temperature when idle: - 25˚C to + 55˚C

Altitude: < 1000 m
Welding unit must be set up on level ground in an area with good ventilation. Do not expose unit to
excessive dust, steam, moist or wet environments. Place unit at least 46 CM from any wall or other
surface that could inhibit ventilation.
Place the kickstand into slot at front of unit and secure in place with supplied screws.
Installing welding wire
Use Flux-core steel wire, .6mm or .8mm diameter on 102mm spool, no more than 1kg.
Rated wire speed: 1.8m/min - 13m/min.
1. Open right side panel and remove wingnut from wire spool axle.
2. Put spool on axle and replace wingnut.
3. Pull 6" of wire off spool and hold rmly.
4. Cut off tip of wire.
5. Push wire through wire feed unit and into gun.
6. Remove gun nozzle and contact tip.
7. Turn power switch to "ON"
8. Hold trigger to feed wire through gun.
9. Replace contact tip and nozzle.
10. Feed wire to check drive roll pressure.
11. Adjust tension nut to achieve correct pressure.
12. Replace side panel.
SPECIFICATIONS
This MIG Welder is suitable for light duty industrial applications and is designed for low-carbon and
low-alloy steels. It incorporates a wire feed system.
Noise emission: ≤ 75 dB
Overload light:
Welding for an extended period at high amperage may cause the overload lamp to illuminate and the
welder to shut down. This is normal overload protection to prevent damage to the unit. If this should
occur, turn the power switch to "OFF" and allow the unit to cool down for approx. 15 minutes.

OPERATION
For welding with solid wire, use the gas setup described
on previous page, and connect ground wire and clamp
according to diagram "A" at right.
For welding with ux-core wire, gas is not necessary.
Connect ground wire and clamp according to diagram
"B" at right.
1. Attach ground clamp to work piece. Make sure teeth on clamp make a good, solid electrical
connection through paint, rust, etc.
2. Set MIN/MAX and 1/2 Switches according to metal specication.
3. Make sure power switch is "OFF" then plug power cord into electrical outlet.
4. Remove nozzle cover and contact tip from welding torch and pull the hose.
5. Ensure that the welding tongs holding the rod are not contacting any grounded objects, then turn
the conversion switch to voltage position (the same as input voltage). The green power lamp will
light.
6. Turn power switch to "ON". Press and hold trigger until 30mm of wire comes out. Release trigger.
7. Shut off power and replace nozzle and contact tip, ensuring that wire extends through contact tip.
8. Turn power back on, press trigger intermittently to adjust wire feed speed using wire speed knob.
9. Orient yourself on the area to be welded, and the place the face shield over your face.
10. While holding trigger, stroke the wire against the area to be welded to ignite the arc.
11. Once arc is ignited, tilt the electrode wire forward at an angle of approximately 35˚. See diagram.
12. When the weld is complete, lift the electrode away from any grounded object, remove face shield,
and turn power switch to "OFF".

Gas Cylinder Installation
The welder has a platform on the rear to accommodate a small gas cylinder. (If you plan to use a
large cylinder, chain it to a wall or bench, or obtain a cart designed specically for the cylinder).
1. Secure the small cylinder to the cart using the straps on the cart.
2. Clean the threads on the gas outlet valve, and open valve briey to blow any debris away from the
inside of the valve tting.
3. Attach regulator to the gas valve on top of the cylinder.
4. Attach welder gas line to hose barb output on regulator and secure in place with hose clamp.
5. Check all tting for leaks by opening gas cylinder valve and regulator valve.
6. Close all valves when not in use.
Assemble the face shield according to the diagram below:
OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
If the welder begins operating improperly, stop working at once and
determine the source of the problem. Any necessary repairs must be
performed by a qualied service technician.
Before performing any maintenance or repairs, turn power to OFF and
unplug unit from power source.
Keep welder unit clean. Open side door and using low-pressure, clean, dry compressed air, remove
dust and dirt from internal parts, electrical contacts, inside of housing and all ventilation ports.
After cleaning, check to make sure there are no loose parts or ttings. If any loose parts are found,
tighten as necessary.
Be sure all cables and electrical contacts are connected rmly. Loose
connections can cause arcing which can hurt your eyes or start a re.
Arcing while in contact with your body can cause severe injury or death.

SERVICE
1. Service must be performed only by qualied repair personnel. Service or maintenance
performed by unqualied personnel may result in a risk of injury.
2. When servicing a tool, use only identical replacement parts. Follow instructions in the
Maintenance Section of this manual. Use of unauthorized parts or failure to follow Maintenance
Instructions may create a risk of electric shock or injury.

Always be sure that the tool is switched off and has been disconnected from the power source
before making any adjustments or performing any maintenance
procedures.

ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
Star Asia-USA, LLC (hereinafter “seller”) warrants to the original purchaser only, that this product will be free from defects in
material or workmanship for a period of one year from date of purchase.
Warranty Performance
Warranty coverage is conditioned upon purchaser furnishing seller or its authorized service center with adequate written
proof of the original purchase date. Products returned, freight prepaid and insured, to our factory or to an Authorized Service
Center will be inspected and repaired or replaced, at seller’s option, free of charge if found to be defective and subject to
warranty. Defective parts not subject to normal wear and tear will be repaired or replaced, at our option during the above
stated warranty periods. In any event, reimbursement is limited to the purchase price paid. Other than the postage and
insurance requirement, no charge will be made for repairs or replacements covered by this warranty. Under no circumstances
shall the manufacturer bear any responsibility for loss of the unit, loss of time or rental, inconvenience, commercial loss or
consequential damages. There are no warranties which extend beyond the description of the face hereof.
Exclusions
This warranty does not cover parts damaged due to normal wear, abnormal conditions, misapplication, misuse, abuse,
accidents, operation at other than recommended pressures or temperatures, improper storage or freight damage. Parts
damaged or worn by operation in dusty environments are not warranted. Failure to follow recommended operating and
maintenance procedures also voids warranty.
Additional items not covered under this warranty: product failure caused by rain, excessive humidity, corrosive environments
or other contaminants; cosmetic defects that do not interfere with product’s functionality.
This warranty shall not apply when: the product has been used for commercial or rental purposes; defects in materials
or workmanship or damages result from repairs or alterations which have been made or attempted by others or the
unauthorized use of nonconforming parts; this damage is due to abuse, improper maintenance, neglect or accident; or the
damage is due to use of the product after partial failure or use with improper accessories.
Seller will not be liable for: labor charges, loss or damage resulting from improper operation, maintenance or repairs made by
persons other than a Star Asia-USA, LLC Authorized Service Center.
The use of other than genuine Star Asia-USA, LLC Repair Parts will void warranty.
Warranty Disclaimers
NO WARRANTY, ORAL OR WRITTEN, OTHER THAN THE ABOVE WARRANTY IS MADE WITH REGARD TO THIS
PRODUCT, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF SELLER REGARDING THIS PRODUCT INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO,
THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE EXCLUDED.
BUYER’S OR USER’S REMEDIES ARE SOLELY AND EXCLUSIVELY AS STATED ABOVE. STAR ASIA-USA, LLC
SHALL IN NO EVENT BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT, OR SPECIAL DAMAGES. IN NO
EVENT, WHETHER AS A RESULT OF A BREACH OF CONTRACT, WARRANTY, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE) OR
OTHERWISE, SHALL SELLER’S LIABILITY EXCEED THE PRICE OF THE PRODUCT WHICH HAS GIVEN RISE TO THE
CLAIM OR LIABILITY. ANY LIABILITY CONNECTED WITH THE USE OF THIS PRODUCT SHALL TERMINATE UPON THE
EXPIRATION OF THE WARRANTY PERIODS SPECIFIED ABOVE.
Limitations on Warranty Disclaimers
Any implied warranties shall be limited in duration to one year from the date of purchase. In some states of the U.S.A. and
in some provinces of Canada there is no limitation for how long an implied warranty is valid, so the aforementioned limitation
may not apply to you.
In no event shall seller be liable for any incidental or consequential damages (including but not limited to liability for loss
of prots) arising from the sale or use of this product. In some states of the U.S.A. and in some provinces of Canada the
exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages is not allowed, so the aformentioned limitation or exclusion
may not apply to you.
This limited warranty gives you specic legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state in the
U.S.A., Canada and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. For warranty coverage within other countries, contact your local Star
Asia-USA, LLC dealer or importer.
