GPS SIGNAL RECEPTION AND MAP POSITIONING:

Once chosen the profile, go outside and wait for the device
to receive the GPS signal and show the location on the map.
It may take up to 15-20 seconds.
When the GPS receives the signal, the device shows the
position with a green arrow on the map. Now the bike trip
can start! The green arrow will follow the changing of the
position on the map.
Press REC placed in the upper left part of the map to start
the track recording. Using the same key will stop the recording.
VDO bike navigator powered by MyNav also calculates the route; enter the starting
point and the target:

Besides map position, while running, it is possible to view also the trip computer data.
Use the device key (C) to visualize the trip computer.
The trip computer is composed by a series of screens which appear alternatively by
simply touching the device display.
The data(1) available are:
Use “Function” to choose to see actual, total or lap values.
With “Reset” the data will be deleted from the Trip Computer and stored in History
Trip.
From Settings -> Advanced -> Trip Computer -> Interface Layout, it possible to
choose how many values display in every Trip Computer screen. From the same menu
choose “Configure”, to select which values have to be shown in each data field and
on the map.
HISTORY:
VDO bike navigator powered by MyNav, keeps memory of the trip data in the history.
From My Menù -> History Trip, Logbook or Total.
Thoroughly, the Logbook enables to register the trip computer data (actual and lap)
and store them in a single file. The archive files are automatically generated at each
Reset of “Actual values” and “Lap”.
Every Reset in the “Total values” window will automatically generate a new archive
file, which can be seen in “Total”.
VIEW TRIP DATA:
10 TRIP COMPUTER
(1) The values visualizable may vary according to the settings chosen by the user.
After a route has been planned (Point 9), an elevation profile
of the current route can be displayed (distance/height).
In navigation, the shifting of the position on the map is
alligned to the shifting of the position on the elevation
profile graph.
The double view “map + elevations”, which enables to
see in the same screen both the elevations graph and the
position on the map can be displayed.
The profile can be viewed thanks to zoom and pan functions: select a point on the
graph to get distance, height and inclination data.
With a simple touch it is possibile to switch from a point on the map to a point on the
graph or to maintain both the visualizations.
NAVIGATE WITH ELEVATIONS:
11 ELEVATIONS
From Main Menu -> Profiles -> Personal data
set personal data (gender, age, weight and HR max).
Enter My Menu -> Training,
please choose between a FREE TRAINING or to compete on a TRACK RACE.
FREE TRAINING
The free training can be carried out setting targets according to:
• HR (zone, target)
• CALORIES (kcal burning, target)
• TIME (time min, target)
• DISTANCE (distance km, target)
TRACK RACE
A track recorded as at Point 9, can be saved and loaded second time to challenge with
Track Race, from “Load”.
Track Race is a competiton on a track previuosly done, VDO bike navigator show
positive/negative values, comparing actual GPS data with the ones of the track pre-
voiusly recorded, showing on the map the position of the target with a red point.
TRAINING FUNCTIONALITIES AND TRACK RACE:
12 TRAINING
The Main Menu enables to manage all the different
functionalities of the program. For more information please
read carefully the complete user guide, here a quick
overview:
MAP: map viewing.The map can be queried simply touching
it to get a lot of useful information.
FIND DESTINATION and start navigation towards: addresses,
POIs, Geo Notes, coordinates, recent destinations, favourites,
outdoor elements, etc.
ROUTE PLANNING, to plan a route entering waypoints and choosing how to connect
them, delete and edit a route previously set.
MY MENU, personal data recording and management: Points (Geo Notes) and tracks
stored by the user, points collected among favourites or saved routes, trip, history
and training data.
SETTINGS, main software settings: map customization, (view and menu), route
planning type and mode, system settings and advanced configurations.
PROFILES, to manage the different profiles and to calculate the max HR entering
personal data.

01 INTRODUCTION
CONGRATULATION ON CHOOSING A VDO CYCLECOMPUTING PRODUCT
This quick guide is intended as a first aid to start using VDO bike navigator powered
by MyNav. Before using the VDO bike navigator, please read carefully these istructions
and the relating user guide too. This product is subordinate to end user licence
agreement, please read and accept it before using the navigator. Consult your doctor
for medical advice before starting any exercise program. Any liability is desclaimed in
case of not compliant use.
PRELIMINARY STEPS:
A. Before using the device charge it completely (Point 2).
B. Install the device by inserting the SD card as described in the following instructions
(Point 3).
C. Turn on the device and get confident with its aspect, its keys, its parts and
components (Point 5).
D. Wait for the GPS signal to be available (Point 9).
E. Now the VDO bike navigator is ready to be used.
VDO bike navigator powered by MyNav, combines the normal functionalities proper of
all the bike computers and the features of a state-of-the-art navigator: route planning,
elevations, track navigation, POI (points of interest) search and much more.
The product is furnished with Lithium-ion battery, which could
be charged:
AT HOME: connecting the device to the PC with the USB cable
included in the box, or connecting the device to the power plug
with the AC adapter included in the box.
IN THE CAR: while driving, connecting the device to the car
charger included in the car kit, which can be bought separately.
Use only original chargers or recommended by the producer. In any case
use power supply with capacity, heat resistor and durability required by
the system. Improper power sources other than pre-defined one can
cause fire or malfunctioning of the device.
To remove the cover and take off the battery, turn anticlock-
wise the security screw.
Dispose properly the li-ion battery contained in the product according to the law in force in the
reference country, for further info on disposal see also the device manual.
CAUTIONS ON DEVICE CHARCHING:
02 CHARGING
The micro SD card included in the box is precharged with
navigation software and maps.
The micro SD card is placed under the battery, inside the
device (see figure beside).
To insert the micro SD card in the device take the following steps:
• Remove the battery cover by pulling on the upper part (as described at point 2);
• Remove the battery;
• Pull the Micro SD card holder down to unlock it, the SD card will now fall out
easily;
• To lock the Micro SD in its slot, close it and slide it up.
NAVIGATION SOFTWARE AND MAPS:
03 INSTALLATION
SWITCH THE
DEVICE ON
Press the ON/OFF button while the device is on to switch it off and to stop the current
session “Power off”, to put it in stand by press “Sleep” or choose “Cancel” to return
to the navigation software.
Press the ON/OFF button constantly (for approx. 4 seconds),
but without forcing, to switch the device on.
The VDO GP 7 bike navigator is now ready to be used.

The buttons (A) and (C), placed on the front side of the
device, allow to recall software functions connected to
the device’s use. Pressing the button (A) repeately, will
adjust the display brightness. The button (C), while the
device is on, shifts from map view to the trip computer,
to elevation profiles, when a route has been planned.
DEVICE COMPONENTS:
FRONT COVER KEYS:

WARNING: the cable ties and the mount
hold steady on the handlebar. The device
instead can be removed just pulling down
the safety lever and slide it out.
Switch on the device. The device is
now ready to be used.
Place the mount on the handlebar in
the position you prefer, and fix it with
the cable ties.
Slide the device on the mount (trough
the lead-lines present on its back) until
you hear a click.
Stick the double-sided tape and then
fix the rubber pad to the back of the
mount.
Install the cable ties in the mount.

INSTALL THE DEVICE ON THE BIKE:
06 ON THE BIKE
YES Once turned on, the device will ask to select one of the profiles available. Each
profile represents a set of pre-defined settings, which are characterized by different
information/functionalities dispalyed on the map and in the software.
The pre-defined profiles are:
• BIKE WITH ANT+ SENSORS (recommended for bike training which use the VDO
bike navigator combined to HR/speed/cadence sensors)
• BIKE WITH GPS INPUT (recommended for bike training which use the VDO bike
navigator without sensors)
• OUTDOOR HIKING (recommended for hiking)
• OUTDOOR HIKING WITH PULSE (recommended for hiking with HR sensor)
• STREET (recommended when the device is used as a street navigator)
The software is easily configurable and personal profiles can be created and saved
by the user. For further information on profile settings read also the software manual.
At software start up, when more maps are installed in the memory card, it will be
required which map has to be loaded before selecting the profile.
START UP THE DEVICE:

ANT+ interoperability
VDO bike navigator powered by MyNav, is ready for ANT+ sensors (HR, cadence and
speed) connection. To start the pairing, do as follows:
Main Menu -> Settings-> Advanced-> Bike sensors settings -> Sensors pairing.
Choose the sensor to be paired and wait for the device to recognise it. A message will
confirm that the pairing has been done successfully.
For the HR sensor, select it from the list and wait for the device to recognise it. Besides
the pairing of the speed sensors it is necessary to set the wheel’s circumference in
the Speed sensors settings menu. Once installed the sensor, spin the wheel until the
pairing is estabilished. A message will confirm that the operation has been completed
successfully.
