INTRODUCTION
Thank you for choosing a VEKSØ product from our range of Urban Cycling
Solutions.
AIR is an automatic air pump designed for use with bicycles. The pump fea-
tures an electrical compressor to make filling bicycle tires with air simple and
easy. The pump head accommodates the three common valve types used on
bicycle tires: Dunlop, Schrader, and Presta. The pump compressor is factory set
to a pressure of 6bar. During inflation of a tire, users are expected to manually
regulate the desired inflation pressure of the tire if a lower pressure is speci-
fied on the tire, or is desired by the user. If the pump is subject to fault or van-
dalism the compressor automatically switches off.
The purpose of this manual is to provide guidance on operation, installation,
maintenance, and other general information about your VEKSØ product to
ensure optimal performance. We recommend you review this manual, keep it
for reference, and pass it on to any future owner of the product.

OPERATION
General use
Before turning on the pump, ensure the fuse box (Figure 1, item 2) and
compressor switch (Figure 3) are both in the ON position. Turn on the pump
by moving the power supply switch to the ON position (Figure 1, item 4).
The pump is now ready for use.
The pump is designed with 2 LED diode boards (Figure 2). These are visible
from both sides of the pump, and indicate the pump is working.
The pump handle (Figure 2) is used to fill tires with air. The pump head
accommodates the three common valve types used on bicycle tires: Dunlop,
Schrader, and Presta. The pump can be used for any tire with these valve
types and in addition to bicycles can be used for tires on items such as
mopedsorchildren’scarriages.
After pumping, the compressor will automatically start to regulate pressure for
the next use.

OPERATION
Compressor
The compressor will automatically stop when the preset maximum pressure is
reached (stop pressure).
The compressor will automatically start when pressure has dropped below the
preset minimum pressure (start pressure).
SAFETY WARNING: Do not remove the protection covers on the compressor
during operation as doing so may cause electric shock or other personal injury.
ATTENTION: All AC compressors are designed for 100% duty but 50%
operation is recommendable to prolong the lifetime of the compressor.
ATTENTION: The compressor motor does not require oil. Do not lubricate the
motor with oil, as it will destroy important components.

OPERATION
Adjustment of pressure switch
The compressor stop pressure and start pressure is preset from the factory and
it does not normally require adjustment. If it is necessary to change the preset
settings, these instructions should be followed carefully.
ATTENTION: The compressor is constructed and approved for a maximum
pressure as stated under Technical Specifications. Do not adjust to a higher
pressure. Higher working pressure will reduce the lifetime of the compressor.
First unscrew the lid of the pressure switch. Adjust the maximum pressure by
adjusting the two springs marked A (Figure 4). Turning the nuts clockwise will
result in a higher pressure. Adjust the two springs identically.
The difference between maximum and minimum pressure is the pressure dif-
ference. Adjust the pressure difference by adjusting the spring marked B (Fig-
ure 4). Turning the nut clockwise will result in a higher pressure difference and
lower start pressure.

INSTALLATION
Mounting
Installation of the pump is typically done by casting 4 x M10 threaded rods
into a concrete foundation (Figure 5). The threaded rods should protrude ap-
proximately 75mm above the foundation.
The distance between the mounting holes is 120mm x 420mm (Figure 5). The
pump is fastened with 4 x M10 nuts and 4 x M10 washers (Figure 6).

INSTALLATION
Electrical
SAFETY WARNING: Incorrect electrical connection may result in electric
shock. The electrical connection must be carried out in accordance with local
electrical regulations and by qualified electricians.
ATTENTION: The installer must be careful to ensure that the phase-neutral-
ground is securely attached and cannot be dislodged by the tremors as start /
stop of compressor causes.
The power supply cable enters from below the pump cabinet, through the
cable glands (Figure 7) and is connected in the power supply switch (Figure 1,
item 4). See electrical connection diagram (Figure 8).
There are two cable glands in the cabinet base, and installers may use 1 or 2
glands based on local requirements.

Maintenance list Monthly Semi
Annual Annual
Check the pump handle and rubber gaskets
for proper functioning. Replace gaskets if
necessary.
•
The switch off time of the compressor is 5
minutes. Activate the pump handle valve
for 5 minutes, and ensure the compressor
stops.
•
When the HPFI switch located in the fuse
box (Figure 1, item 2) is switched on (1)
it must trip when the test button (Test) is
pressed.
•
Remove dirt from the cabinet with deter-
gent. For regularly cleaning, detergent
should not contain abrasives or solvents.
•
Check pressure on internal pressure gauge
after compressor is activated and pressure
regained. Maximum is 8bar and factory
setting is 6bar.
•
Graffiti
Graffiti can be removed with benzene, turpentine or in difficult cases
with metyletylketon (MEK)*.
Cleaning must be followed by a wax treatment.
*By using metyletylketon (MEK) the surface may not be rubbed more
than maximum 4-5 times during each application.
Repairing minor damage:
1. Gently sand damaged area, without damaging coating further.
2. Remove loose particles.
3. Apply refinish.
Recommended products:
Refinish: Standard paint in matching RAL color.
Cleaner: NeutralpHdetergent;valuefrom5to8
Wax: General-purpose wax used to protect painted metal surfaces
