1.0. INTRODUCTION
DEAR CUSTOMER
Congratulations on your new VELA Medical Chair. This
user manual contains useful information about positi-
oning, operating and maintenance.
Important
Please read this user manual thoroughly and keep
it for later use. This user manual must always
accompany the chair. The user manual is also available
on VELA Medical’s website: www.vela-medical.com,
where you also can find other relevant information
about the chair.
If you have any questions, please contact VELA
Medical’s distributor in your country.
VELA Medical reserves the right to make changes to

GENERAL
1.1. SAFETY
This chair bears the CE mark and
approved under the model name
”VELA Samba” and conforms to
all applicable EU rules. The chair
is manufactured by VELA Medical,
Goeteborgvej 8-12, 9200 Aalborg
SV, Denmark.
1.1.1. USAGE
The chair is an indoor chair
designed for sitting persons.
:: The chair is not built to stand on.
The Chair is tested and approved for
a maximum user weight of 125 kg.
Warning: VELA Samba 410 is tested
and approved for a maximum user
weight of 95 kg.
1.2. WARRANTY
VELA Medical provides warranty
by the laws and regulations which
are debt in the country the chair is
bought in. The warranty only applies
when using original spare parts and
accessories. Modification may only
be carried out by authorised service
technicians.
VELA Medical does not accept
responsibility for damage or injury
to the product or user, which have
arisen due to:

:: General wear and tear
:: Incorrect use
:: Use of non-original spare parts
and accessories
:: Adjustments carried out by
unauthorised service technicians
1.3. UNPACKING THE CHAIR
The chair is supplied in cardboard
packaging, developed with conside-
ration for the environment.
If there are any parts missing or
transport damage to the chair, plea-
se contact your dealer immediately.
Do not not try to repair any damage
or use the chair.

1.4. MAINTENANCE
We recommend your chair under-
goes an annual service to find, for
example, defective or worn parts.
The user should regularly retighten
all removable parts.
1.4.1. WHEELS
VELA Medival recommend that the
wheels are checked in regular inter-
vals e.g. to remove possible thread
remnants.
1.4.2. FRAME
Clean with water, possibly with a PH
neutral soap.
1.4.3. UPHOLSTERY
Fabric: Clean with upholstery clea-
ners or wipe it with a tightly wrung
cloth rinsed in clean water.
Imitation leather: Clean with water
or mild soap.
Medical textiles: Clean as described
above. Can also be cleaned with
disinfectants and alcohol. To see

1.5. DISPOSAL
This product contains recyclable
materials such as plastic, metal, etc.
As a result, product disposal must
be carried out in compliance with
local legislation and separately from
regular household waste. Correct
disposal and recycling contribute to
preventing the product from having
a negative impact on the environ-
ment and people.

Replacement of the gas spring may only be performed
by the service support team from your dealer or a
skilled technical person.
1.6.4. ADJUSTMENT OF SEAT HEIGHT WITH LEVER*
Adjust the seat height by pushing the lever placed at your
right hand.
1.6.3. ADJUSTMENT OF SEAT HEIGHT WITH FOOT RING*
Adjust the seat height with your foot by pushing the ring, which
is placed at the base og the chair.
1.6.2. ADJUSTMENT OF SEAT HEIGHT WITH RING*
Adjust the seat height by pushing the ring, which is placed
under the seat.
1.6.1. ATTACHING THE BACKREST*
The lever for backrest adjustment (1) must be in open position.
Press the locking pin spring (2) and push the backrest arm
through the hole. Tighten the lever afterwards.
Note: The backrest arm must be pushed through completely
so the pin spring locks the backrest arm. Make sure that the
backrest arm cannot be pulled out again.

1.6.8. ADJUSTMENT OF BACK HEIGHT*
Adjust the back height by using the lever placed on the back of
the chair. Remember to tighten the handle again afterwards.
1.6.6. ADJUSTMENT OF SEAT TILT*
Adjust the seat tilt by pushing the middle lever placed at your
right hand.
1.6.7. ADJUSTMENT OF BACK TILT*
Adjust the back tilt by pushing the rear lever placed at your
right hand.

Adjust the seat tilt by pushing the lever placed at your

1.6.12. ERGOREST ARM SUPPORT*
Ergorest arm support is multi-movable. Adjust the arm support
to the wanted width and height for the user (Se section 1.6.13.
and 1.6.14.). Remember to tighten the screws afterwards.
1.5.11. FOOTREST RING*
A 45 cm footrest ring, adjustable in height. The footrest ring
provides stability, support and comfort in the sitting position. A
footrest ring is especially practical when the user is sitting high
up.
1.6.10. ADJUSTMENT OF SEAT TILT*
Adjust the seat tilt by pushing the lever placed at your
right hand.
1.6.9. ADJUSTMENT OF SEAT HEIGHT*
Adjust the seat height by pushing the lever placed at your
left hand.

1.6.14. ADJUSTMENT OF ARMREST, WIDTH*
Adjust by loosening the handwheel underneath the seat and
regulate the width of the armrest. Remember to tighten the
handwheel again.
Note: The armrests can be completely removed by pushing
the knob spring located at the bottom of the rod and pulling
out the armrest when the hand screw is loosened.
1.6.13. ADJUSTMENT OF ARMREST, HEIGHT*
Adjust by loosening the handwheel on the armrest bar and
regulate the height of the armrest. Remember to tighten the
handwheel again.
Note: The armrest can be completely removed by loosening
the armrest screw and pulling up the armrest bar.
