INTRODUCTION 02 03
3 VELDINK ROLSTOELTECHNIEK BV
Veldink Rolstoeltechniek BV is a company specialised in
the design and manufacturing of hand-propelled
wheelchairs. This is based on the idea that a wheelchair is
a personal aid.
To wheelchair users it means they can identify themselves
with the image and the use of a wheelchair.
In 1981 Veldink Techniek was founded for the purpose of
making adaptations for the elderly. In 1982 a racing
wheelchair was developed at the request of and in
cooperation with handicapped sportsmen and
sportswomen. This model served as the model for the
children’s wheelchair we developed later.
From 1984 these two products were the main activity,
which was the reason for changing the name to Veldink
Rolstoeltechniek.
In 1992 it was decided to specialise in children’s
wheelchairs. In the meantime the company has developed
into a specialist in the field of children’s rehabilitation in
respect of children’s wheelchairs.
INTRODUCTION 02 03
VELDINK ROLSTOELTECHNIEK BV 5
The policy of Veldink Rolstoeltechniek BV is aimed at
realising products that meet the client’s wishes. This is
achieved by realising the mission of the company in the
best possible way; here personal supervision of and
information to clients (users, retailers, consultants,
therapists and the authorities involved) are very important
items.
In order to keep the quality of organisation and products at
a high level, to guarantee it and to aim at prevention rather
than inspection, Veldink Rolstoeltechniek BV has selected
a quality system based on the NEN-EN-ISO 9001:2000
standard. Herewith an integral system has been
introduced, which gives signals leading to a continuous
improvement of the organisation. The objective is a zero
error mentality.
Should you have any questions regarding the use,
maintenance and safety of your wheelchair, please
contact your local dealer. If you do not have a dealer in
your neighbourhood, or if you have other questions,

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS 05
10 VELDINK ROLSTOELTECHNIEK BV
1. You are strongly advised against sitting in the
wheelchair while it is transported in a vehicle. We
recommend you use a properly approved seat in
the vehicle and have the wheelchair safely stored in
the boot of the vehicle.
2. If you have to sit in the wheelchair for a long time,
you should shift your position regularly. Make sure
there are no seams, folds or other irregular
pressure spots on the back or the seat. This is to
prevent sores (decubitus).
3. In confined areas ensure you do not get stuck when
manoeuvring. If you get stuck, try and go back the
same way you came, in reverse. Make sure
assistance can be called.
4. A wheelchair has protruding parts, that may cause
injuries or damage in case of a collision. So avoid
collisions.
5. Never reach too far out of your wheelchair, as you
may fall over.
6. Never drive over a threshold or any other obstacle
at an acute or obtuse angle, as you may keel over
or get stuck.
7. A speed exceeding 5 km per hour (3 mph) can be
dangerous if you have not exercised it sufficiently.
8. Never negotiate a bend at a high speed and do not
make sudden, sharp turns as you may fall..
