prod ct for reasons other than its intended se
may lead to personal inj ry, property damage
or environmental damage. Before installation,
check the vehicle doc mentation for vehicle
type and any possible special feat res!
•Use the assembly plan to learn the location of
the f el/hydra lic/compressed air and
electrical lines!
•Note possible modifications to the vehicle,
which m st be considered d ring installation!
•To prevent personal inj ry, property damage or
environmental damage, basic knowledge of
motor vehicle/shipb ilding electronics and
mechanics is req ired.
•Make s re that the engine cannot start
nintentionally d ring installation!
•Modifications or manip lations to VDO
prod cts can affect safety. Conseq ently, yo
may not modify or manip late the prod ct!
•When removing/installing seats, covers, etc.,
ens re that lines are not damaged and pl g-in
connections are not loosened!
•Note all data from other installed instr ments
with volatile electronic memories.
SAFETY DURING INSTALLATION
•D ring installation, ens re that the prod ct’s
components do not affect or limit vehicle
f nctions. Avoid damaging these components!
•Only install ndamaged parts in a vehicle!
•D ring installation, ens re that the prod ct
does not impair the field of vision and that it

a xiliary batteries, yo m st also disconnect
the negative terminals on these batteries!
Short circ its can ca se fires, battery
explosions and damages to other electronic
systems. Please note that when yo disconnect
the battery, all volatile electronic memories
lose their inp t val es and m st be
reprogrammed.
•If working on gasoline boat motors, let the
motor compartment fan r n before beginning
work.
•Pay attention to how lines and cable harnesses
are laid so that yo do not drill or saw thro gh
them!
•Do not install the prod ct in the mechanical
and electrical airbag area!
•Do not drill holes or ports in load-bearing or
stabilizing stays or tie bars!
