FollowthisgeneralprocedurewhenusingtheEasyLinkwiththeTI-84Plusfamily
ofcalculators.
1.ConfirmthattheEasyData applicationisinstalledonthecalculator.Dothatby
pressingthe buttonandscrolling throughthealphabetical listof
applications.WhenyouknowthatEasyData isthere,press [QUIT]to
return tothehomescreen.IfEasyData isnotinstalled, refertotheObtaining
EasyData section.
2.Connectoneof thecompatiblesensors(listedinthechart)toEasyLink.
3.ConnectEasyLinktotheUSBportonthecalculator.Thecalculatorwill
automaticallylaunchEasyData anddetectthesensor.
4.Youarenowreadytocollectdata.

EasyData supportsnumerousdata-collectionmodes,andEasyData version2.0or

Bothof thesepowerdrawswill affectthecalculatorbatterylifetime. Withaverage

batterylifewill bedeterminedbytheamountof useandthetypeofsensor.

IfEasyData isnotinstalledonyourTI-84 Pluscalculator,you willneedtoinstallthe
applicationontoyourcalculator.EasyData canbedownloadedfree fromourweb
site(www.vernier.com/easy/easydata.html).Downloadtheapplicationtoyour
computerandthenusea TI-Connectivity™ cableand TIConnect™softwaretosend
theapplicationfromthecomputertothecalculator.Your calculatorwillalsoneed
operating systemversion2.30ornewer. Ifnecessary, downloadtheoperating system
fromtheTIwebsite(education.ti.com)and installitonyourcalculator.

Troubleshooting Tips
LEDremains red
WhentheTI-84PluscalculatorcommunicateswithEasyLink,theLEDonthe
EasyLinkshowsthestatusof thecommunications. Initiallyastheycommunicate,the
LEDisred,andthenitturnstogreenwhenthecommunicationshavebeen
established.Ifthestatusremainsred,contactVernierforadditionalhelp.
EasyData doesnotauto-launch
IfyourcalculatorcontainstheEasyData app andyouhavethecalculatoronthemain
screen,plugging EasyLinkintotheUSBportonaTI-84 Pluscalculatorwillcause
theEasyData apptolaunch.Thisassumesthatthecalculator’sbatteriesareingood
condition.Iftheyareweak,youmayseeamessageaboutalow-batterycondition.If
EasyData doesnotauto-launch,leaveEasyLinkattachedtothecalculatorandstart
theEasyData appbychoosingitfromtheAppsmenu. Ifanerrormessageappears,
yourbatteriesareprobablytoolow. Usingafreshset of batterieswill probablysolve
theproblem.
Warranty
Vernierwarrantsthisproducttobefree fromdefectsinmaterialsand workmanship
foraperiodof fiveyearsfromthedateof shipmenttothecustomer.Thiswarranty
doesnotcoverdamagetotheproductcausedbyabuseorimproperuse.
