Pushingorpullingarange(ratherthanusingaliftjack)also
increases the possibility of bending the leg spindles or the

• Inthecaseofaprolongedpowerfailure:
–iftheovendoorislockedduringaselfcleaningcycle,itremainslockedaslongasthe
powerisrestoredandiftheovencavityhascooledtoatemperaturelowerthan570°F
(300°C).Payspecialattentionnottotouchthefronthotsurfacesoftheapplianceand
keepchildrenwelloutofreach.
• Thisapplianceisintendedforuseinyourhousehold.Neverusetheapplianceforanyother
purpose!
• If you should decide not to use this appliance any longer (or decide to substitute an

SINGLE COOKING ZONES
Incorporatingtheheatingelement(g.2.2)youcancontrolandlightupbyselectingfrom
the12positionsonthecontrolknob(g.2.1).
Theheatintensitycanberegulatedcontinuouslyfrom“OFF”to“12”(max).

IMPORTANT
Whenthetemperatureofacookingzoneisabove 140°F (60°C), therelevant“HOT
SURFACE”warninglightinthevitroceramichob(g.2.7)willcomeontoindicatethat
thezoneishot.
Thislightwillstayonevenafterthecookingzonehasbeenswitchedofftoindicatethat
thezoneisstillhot.
Theresidualheatpersistsforsometimeafterthecookingzonehasbeenswitchedoff.
During this time avoid touching the hob and take particular care if there are
childrennearby.
The light will go out automatically when the cooking zone temperature drops below
140°F(60°C).
HINTSFORSAFEUSEOFTHEVITROCERAMICHOB
• Beforeswitchingon,checkwhichknobcontrolstherequiredcookingzone.Youare
advisedtoplacethesaucepanonthehobbeforeswitchingonandtotakeitoffafter
switchingoff.
• Toswitchon,alwayslightlypressthecontrolknobthenturnit.
• Usesaucepanswithanevenatbottom(becarefulofcastironsaucepans).Uneven
bottomscanscratchthepyroceramsurface.Checkthatthebottomiscleananddry.
• Thediameterofthepanshouldmatchthatofthecookingzone(orbeslightlybigger)
tomakethemostoftheenergy.
• Potswithaluminiumbottomsmayleavesilverstreaksorspotsonthehob.
• Donotleavewetordamplidsonthehob.
• Donotusethetopifthesurfaceisbrokenordamaged.
• Ifyounoteacrackinthecooktop,switchtheapplianceoffimmediatelyand
call the After-Sales Service.
• Donotbendoverthecookingzoneswhentheyareon.

hot.

containers.
Ensure that the handles of
cookware do not stick out over
the edge of the range, to avoid
them being knocked over by

GENERAL FEATURES
Theovenhasspecialoperatingfeatures.
Fivedifferentfunctionscanbeusedtosatisfyallcookingneeds;italsohasaself
cleaning function which can clean the oven cavity at high temperature, a defrost
functionandanovenlightfunction.
These functions are managed by an electronic programmer which keeps the
temperaturesetconstantbymeansofaprobeinsidetheovencavity.
Theovenhasthefollowingheatingelements:
• Lowerheatingelement(double) 550+1750W
• Upperheatingelement 1200W
• Grillheatingelement 2850W
• Circularheatingelement 2450W
NOTES ON OVEN OPERATION
Acoolingfanstartsautomaticallywhenselectingacookingfunction,defrostorself
cleaningmode.
ItstopswhenturningtheselectorknobtoOFFpositionorLIGHTandtheinsideoven
cavitytemperaturedropsbelow150°C(302°F).
Thepurposeofthisfanistoreducethetemperatureinside/outsidetheappliance.
Note:Thersttimetheovenisusedorafterablack-outtheprogrammermustbe
startedbypressingkeys2and3simultaneously.Seethesectionontheuseofthe
electronicprogrammer.
USING THE OVEN FOR THE FIRST TIME
• Putintheshelfandthetray.
• Switchtheovenonempty(onacookingfunction–NOTSELFCLEANING)at
maximumpowerforabout2hourstoremovetracesofgreaseandsmellsfrom
thecomponents.
• Whentheovenhascooleddownandunpluggingtherange,cleantheinsideof
theovenwithaclothsoakedinwaterandneutraldetergentanddryitperfectly.

CLEAN
(SelfCleaningFunction-thisisnotacookingfunction)
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Thisisnotacookingfunctionbutisonlyusedtoclean
the oven.
Beforestartingtheselfcleaningcycle:
• Take all the accessories out of the oven (drip tray and
shelves).
• Cleananytracesofliquidwhichhaveoverowed.
• Close the oven door and make sure that it is closed
properly.
Iftherearecracksorawsontheovendoorglass(inside/
outside)orifthegasketsareruinedorwornorifthedoor
doesnotcloseperfectly,disconnecttheappliancefrom
the electrical supply and contact the Service Centre.
GENERAL INFORMATION
• In this function the residual cooking greases on the inside walls of the oven
cavityarepulverisedbythehightemperature.Thefumesproducedduringthis
processarelteredbyaspecialcatalystintheupperpartoftheappliance.
• Smells and fumes produced during self cleaning are not a cause of alarm.
Adequateventilationshouldhoweverbeprovidedintheroomwheretherangeis
installed,e.g.byopeningawindow.
• Donotwait for theovento be verygreasybefore performing thiscleaning.It
shouldnotbeperformedaftereverycooking,either,butonlywhenthelevelof
dirtjustiesit(onaverage1–2timesamonthdependingonovenuse).
• Forsafetyreasons(hightemperatureoftheovencavity),whentheselfcleaning
startstheovendoorisautomaticallylockedbyanelectronicdevice(afterafew
seconds,onthecontrolpanel,the
DOOR LOCKED
pilotlightlightsup).Thedoorcan
nolongerbeopenedandisonlyunlockedattheendofthecleaningcycleor,
stoppingthecycle,whentheovencavityhascooledtoatemperaturelowerthan
570°F(300°C).
• When the self cleaning function starts an internal fan starts automatically to
cooltheovenwalls.Itonlystopsattheendofthecycle,whentheovencavity
temperaturehasdroppedbelow302°F(150°C).
• Theproceduresforstarting,stoppingandcompletingtheselfcleaningcycleand
dealingwithanyproblemsaredescribedinthefollowingsections:
–“HOWTOSTARTTHESELFCLEANINGCYCLE”;
–“PROBLEMS ON STARTING AND DURING THE SELF CLEANING

SETTING THE COOKING
(ONLYFORTHECOOKINGFUNCTIONS)
The temperature set is shown on the electronic programmer display and can be
varied,with5°F(5°C)intervals,bymeansoftheprogrammerkeysorthetemperature
knob.
Duringcookingtheoventemperature(°For°C)ismeasuredbyasensorinsidethe
cavity and is shown on the programmer display until set temperature is reached.
Ifset temperatureis lessthan insideoven temperature,thedisplayshowstheset
temperature.

Thepre-settemperatureappearsontheprogrammerdisplay.
Turn the temperature knob to the right to increase the temperature or to the
left to reduce it.Alternatively press key 6 of the programmer to increase the
temperatureorkey5toreduceit.
3. START THE COOKING
Presskey3oftheprogrammertostartthecooking.
IMPORTANT:Thecookingdoesnotstartifthekey3isnotpressed.
4. CHANGING THE SET TEMPERATURE DURING COOKING
Thetemperaturecanbechangedbyusingthetemperatureknob.
Alternativelyitcanbechangedbyusingtheprogrammer:presskey4andthen
key6toincreasethetemperatureorkey5toreduceit.
Duringtheregulationthetemperatureisashing.
Theminimumtemperaturewhichcanbesetis120°F(50°C)whilethemaximum
temperature is: 520°F (270°C) for the broiling and ventilated broiling; 535°F

HOW TO START THE SELF CLEANING CYCLE
Important:Theselfcleaningcyclemustonlybeperformedwiththeovenempty;
so,beforestartingthecycletakealltheaccessories(shelves,driptray,...)out
oftheovencavityanddryanytracesofoverowedliquid.
Donotuseanydecreasingproducts(e.g.decreasingsprays,detergents,etc.).
1. Closetheovendoor(ifitisopenornotclosedproperly,“door”ashingonthe
display,theselfcleaningcyclewillnotstart).
2. Turn the oven selector knob to the self cleaning position
CLEAN
; “P1:30” (self
cleaningtime,1 hourand30 minutes) appearsonthe electronic programmer
displaywiththeletter“P”ashing.
3. To increase the self cleaning cycle time (max 3 hours) press key 2 of the
programmer then key 6. To go backwards to the minimum of 1 hour and 30
minutespresskey2thenkey5.Alternativelypresskey2oftheprogrammerand
thenturnthetemperatureknobtotherighttoincreasethetimeortotheleftto
reduceit.Duringthesetting“P”isnotshownonthedisplay.
4. Pressbutton3ontheprogrammertostartthecycle.
This combined conrmation operation offers greater safety when there are
children;infactturningtheknobtotheselfcleaningfunctionhasnoeffectifkey
3oftheprogrammerisnotthenpressed.
TheprogrammerdisplayreadsPH:MM(H:MM=selfcleaningtimewhereH=hours
andMM=minutes)andthedoorislockedaftersomeseconds.
Onthecontrolpanelthedoorlockedpilotlightlightsuptoindicatethatthedoor
islocked.
Theselfcleaningcyclestartsimmediately(thesymbol lightsup)andiscompleted
intheprogrammedtime.Throughouttheselfcleaningcycletheprogrammerdisplays
thetime(hoursandminutes)remaininguntilthecycleisnished.
VERY IMPORTANT:
The self cleaning cycle only starts with the oven door closed. If the door is
openornotclosedproperly(“door”ashingonthedisplay)theovenCANNOT
perform the self cleaning cycle; electronic safety devices prevent the self
cleaningcyclefromstarting.

5. Removethepulveriseddirt.
Opentheovendoorandremovetheresidueofpulveriseddirtinsidetheoven

• Reconnecttheappliancetothemain.

2. “F0E0”and“A”appearduringtheselfcleaningcycle
Thisindicatesatemperaturesensormeasurementerrorduringtheselfcleaning
cycle. This may be due to the self cleaning cycle being stopped and started
againwhenitwasquiteawaythrough.

• Turntheovenselectorknobto
OFF
(ovenOFF).
• Wait for at least 30 minutes before repeating the operations to start the self
cleaningcycle.
• IfthemessageisstillgivenafterseveralattemptscallService.
3. “FPot”,“Fdor”,“FAdc”or“FrEL”appearduringcookingorselfcleaning
cycle
Thisindicatesanerrorormalfunctioning.
Whattodo:

COOKING ADVICE
STERILIZATION
Sterilizationoffoodstobeconserved,infullandhermeticallysealedjars,isdonein
thefollowingway:
a. TurntheswitchtopositionCONV.BAKE(convectioncookingwithventilation).
b. Setthethermostatknobtoposition350°F(175°C)andpreheattheoven.
c. Fillthegrillpanwithhotwater.
d. Setthejarsintothegrillpanmakingsuretheydonottoucheachotherandthe
doorandsetthethermostatknobtoposition260°F(130°C).
Whensterilizationhasbegun,thatis,whenthecontentsofthejarsstarttobubble,
turnofftheovenandletcool.
ROASTING
Toobtainclassicalroasting,itisnecessarytoremember:
• thepre-settemperatureshouldbemaintained;
• thatthecookingtimedependsonthequantityandthetypeoffoods.
COOKING DIFFERENT DISHES AT THE SAME TIME
The MULTIFUNCTION oven at positions CONV.BAKE (convection cooking with
ventilation)ofthefunctionselectorcancookvariousdifferentfoodsatthesametime.
Fish,cakesandmeatcanbecookedtogetherwithoutthesmellsandavoursmixing.
Theonlyprecautionsrequiredarethefollowing:
• The cooking temperatures must be as close as possible with a maximum
differenceof70-80°F(20-25°C)betweenthedifferentfoods.
• Differentdishesmustbeplacedintheovenatdifferenttimesaccordingtothe
cookingtimerequiredforeachone.Thistypeofcookingobviouslyprovidesa
considerablesavingontimeandenergy.
VENTILATEDBROILING
Broilingmay bedone byselecting CONV.BROIL (VentilatedBroiling)withthefunction
selectorknob,becausethehotaircompletelyenvelopsthefoodthatistobecooked.
Setthetemperatureifatemperaturedifferentfromthepre-setoneisrequired.
Introducethefoodtobecooked,positioningthebroilingpanasclosetotheinfra-red
elementaspossible.
Closethedoorandlettheovenoperateuntilbroilingisdone.
Broilingwiththeovendoorclosed.
Important:Alwaysusesuitableprotectivegloveswheninserting/removingthe
broilingpanfromtheoven(seenextpage).
Itisadvisabletohandlethe
oven accessories using
ovengloves.
