Concrete Pad and Base Installation
Concrete Pad
The concrete pad for operator mounting should be approximately 10”
(255mm) x 12” (300mm) x 18” (460mm) deep in order to provide
adequate weight and structure to insure proper stable installation. Be
sure to position pad so it will not interfere with gate.
Anchors
You can use anchors that provided with the operator,
3¾ Anchor bolts (4), Anchors, Washers and Nuts this
anchors must be set in to the concrete at the time of pouring
the concrete pad or you can use wedge anchors (1/4” x 4”) to
fasten the operator.

Rack & Limit Switch Installation
Power
Connect 115Volt AC to terminals power to terminals 6 & 7 at high power side of the control board. (See
Control board diagram at page 7)
Rack
Loosen the clutch by the release key (Insert key and turn Counter Clockwise to release the clutch). Attach
the mounting bolts for the rack on the gate according to the specific position of the driving gear wheel and
make sure that the rack is horizontal. There must be a proper clearance between the gear and the rack @ 1/8”
(4mm). After installation of rack move the gate manually; make sure the gate slides smoothly.
Magnets For Limit Switch
Install the magnets for open & close position by mounting magnet
bracket to the gate. The shorter bracket is for open position and
longer bracket is for close position. The distance between the
magnet and the operator should be @ ½” (12mm) with the
operator cover on. To test the position of the magnets: Make sure
the operator clutch is disengaged (Counter turn release key clock
wise). Turn the power on (see control board information) move
the gate to open position the open position limit switch light 24
should come on, move the gate to close position the close position
limit switch light 25 should come on.

Limit Switch Connections
Terminal 1: Red wire will be connected here
Terminal 2: White wire will be connected here
Terminal 3: Green wire will be connected here
NOTE: For left hand operation, reverse wires from terminals 1 and 3
Figure 7
Limit Switch Sensor
The limit switch sensor is divided into two parts as seen in
Figure 8.
To achieve your open limit, one of the magnets should
be mounted so that it is at the same height as Section
1 of the sensor.
To achieve your closed limit, the other magnet should be
mounted so that it is at the same height as Section 2 of the
operator.
Figure 8 9

Auto Close Timer
The auto close is designed so that when the gate is opened, it can be set to automatically close after a
p
re-determined amount of time.
Please note that the operator comes set from factory to “NO”, or without automatic closure. If you
keep this setting, the gate will only close after another signal from an access control such as a remote
control, push button or hardwired keypad.
To change the amount of time before the gate closes, remove the jumpers and set to desired time by
following the guidelines in the picture above.
Manual Release
Your Viper Gate System will include two keys that are used to disengage the operator from your gate in
case of an emergency or power outage.
Turn counter-clock-wise in the slot above to disengage the operator from the gate. This will allow you
to use the gate manually.

Setting the Transmitter DIP Switches:
There are a total of eight (8) transmitter DIP switches. Each one can be placed in three (3) different positions
(+, 0, -). DO NOT set all of the switches to the same position, for example: all +, all 0 or all -. Once the
DIP switches have been set to a personal code, replace and close the cover. 11

Viper Gate Systems Receiver Installation
Figure 11
The receiver wiring to the control board will be set as follows:
Terminal 1: Red wire
Terminal 2: Black Wire
Terminal 3: White Wire
Terminal 4: White and Yellow Wire
Terminal 5: Yellow Wire
Your remotes are set from factory to use Channel 1 (the yellow button in Figure 9), to open and close the
gate, and Channel 2 (the blue button in Figure 9) is to set to control an exterior light.
If you are using a wireless, Multi-Code compatible keypad, please note that you must switch the wires
from Terminals 3 and 5. This will allow the wireless keypad to open and close the gate, but it will
reverse the factory settings for your remote transmitters channels. Now you must use Channel 2 (the
b
lue button) to open and close the gate, and Channel 1(the yellow button) to control the exterior light if
applicable.
